The EP opens with Fractal Synchronicity, a collaboration between Tear of Joy and JNTX that was born from capturing the sound of a real bass. Organic sounds and live grooves recall the warmth of old-school deep house. A melancholic mood unfolds slowly and takes the listener somewhere unexpected. Locuor, its sister track, is an intense voyage through deep house territory. Moving and enveloping, it takes hold of you and leaves an impression that lingers. Culture closes the EP with raw energy. Alex Cecil, the NYC-born classically trained visionary behind NiteLite Music, has built an imprint rooted in this uncompromising ethos. While the industry's usual suspects peddle their predictable formulas and pre-digested banality, Cecil's operations function as something far more dangerous: a laboratory for the restless, a sanctuary for those who refuse to settle. HotLap make their debut on Siamese with a two-track release, continuing a run that has seen the duo build strong momentum across clubs and platforms, including a Beatport number 1 and regular hits on the DSPs and beyond. Behind the project are Joris Mur and Chris Mears, based between the Netherlands, the UK and their shared studio in London. Although the project only launched recently, the two producers behind it bring a long-standing background in music production and songwriting, with years of experience across the global dance scene. Their work has already reached a wide audience, contributing to major records and building a strong foundation before shifting focus to a more club-driven artist project. With HotLap, they channel this into a sound that blends melodic house and techno with Afro and minimal influences, aiming for something that works both emotionally and on the floor. 'I See U' leans into a more direct club approach, with a slightly cinematic feel. A steady groove carries the track, while a bigger piano-led build adds tension and gives it a more expansive moment. On 'Commas', the direction shifts. The track moves into a more twisted, slightly Indie Dance-leaning space, with a looser groove and subtle melodic details, alongside vocals from a yet unnamed singer from a befriended band, adding another layer while keeping things club-focused. With this first outing on Siamese, HotLap present two different angles of their sound, balancing drive, mood and function while keeping a clear focus on the dancefloor.
