Artic White returns to Univack with Once We Were / Summer 98, a two-track EP that clearly reveals the emotional breadth of his sound. The release reinforces one of Artic Whites most recognizable qualities: his ability to build epic, memorable and timeless melodies, capable of working both on the dancefloor and in a more intimate listening context. Once We Were shows a more serious and progressive side, driven by an energetic bassline, chords, stabs, emotive pads, piano notes and a hypnotic synth sequence that settles in the memory. Summer 98, on the other hand, breathes with a more organic and evocative sensitivity, capturing a joyful, warm and nostalgic feeling, like a summer memory transformed into music.
