Claptone is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma. But there is no denying the impact on the global groove made by this otherworldly artiste. Claptone constantly circles the planet, only landing to deliver communion at special gatherings of electronic music fans. Fans who often appear wearing a golden mask themselves to pay homage to his message; cloak yourselves in anonymity and lose yourselves in the music. No doubt: Claptone has the world under his spell. The clamour to recreate his nightly encounters with the crowds, his comprehensive club experiences and the joyous feelings of the first season of his own event has led to the creation of "The Masquerade mixed by Claptone". This collection of edits, classics, exclusives, remixes and stand out tracks from his DJ sets is split into two mixes: day and night. Claptone aims to enchant and beguile the listener as well-known and new songs appear to magically intertwine; originals become remixes become edits become samples become music. Contained within the mixes is a special alchemy that is exclusive and won't appear anywhere else - Claptone is spoiling us. The Masquerade mixed by Claptone 1. We continue on HouseU with a truly exciting collaboration, while also welcoming three fantastic artists to the label. The name Mat.Joe is certainly familiar to any house music follower. He has been creating music at the highest international level for many years, delivering one great release after another. Originally formed as a duo, the Mat.Joe story dates back to 2008, during which time they released on respected labels such as Defected, Club Sweat, Mother Recordings and Saved Records. From 2024 onward, Matthias continues his career solo, carrying forward the legacy Mat.Joe has built over the past decade. The other half of this collaboration is Florian Kruse, an artist with a career spanning well over a decade. Trained as a sound engineer and later active in various formations, Florian launched his solo career in 2016 and has since achieved numerous milestones. Over the years, he has delivered many high-quality releases and worked with artists such as Joris Voorn, David Morales and Robosonic. More recently, his music has appeared on outstanding labels including Armada Subjekt, Noir Music and Last Night On Earth. Now, Mat.Joe and Florian Kruse make their debut on HouseU together with their joint collaboration titled Alone But Free. The tracks unique and captivating sound instantly draws the listener in. Alongside solid house grooves and driving rhythms, the arrangement offers a wealth of refined details. A series of beautifully crafted synths, a touch of funk in the breakdown and strong piano chords all add depth and character to the production. Of course, special mention must be made of the stunning vocal performance by JMK. The Hamburg-based singer and songwriter completes the collaboration as its third contributor, bringing the track to life with a truly radiant vocal.
