Chart Positions & Placements

A guide to the different chart types BeatTracker monitors and what each placement means.

Chart types we track

Beatport features several different chart and placement types. BeatTracker monitors all of them:

Top 100 Charts

The main chart on Beatport, ranked by sales. Exists for each genre and overall. Positions range from #1 to #100.

Hype Charts

A Top 100 chart per genre highlighting emerging tracks from independent, non-major distributed labels.

Staff Picks

Curated selections by the Beatport editorial team. Indicates editorial recognition and drives visibility.

Banner Placements

High-visibility promotional banners displayed at the top of genre pages. Highly sought after premium placements.

Featured New Releases

Tracks and releases specifically chosen to be highlighted in "New Releases" sections, based on editorial selection.

DJ Charts

Charts curated by featured DJs. Detected and recorded when a DJ includes your track in their public chart.

How positions are recorded

BeatTracker scans charts daily and records the exact position of each track at the time of the scan. If your track is at #15 in the Tech House Top 100 when we scan, that's the position we record and display on your profile.

Positions can change throughout the day on Beatport. BeatTracker captures a daily snapshot, so the position you see is the position at the time of our most recent scan.

Spotify chart tracking

In addition to Beatport, BeatTracker also monitors Spotify charts and playlists. When your tracks appear on Spotify editorial playlists or charts, we detect and record those placements alongside your Beatport data.

Spotify data is displayed on the same artist and label profile pages, making it easy to see your performance across both platforms in one place.

Reading your profile page
