DUBSTEP PIONEER CONTINUES TO PUSH THE SOUND FORWARD WITH SEVEN-TRACK NEW ALBUM, ARRIVING THIS SEPTEMBER VIA GHOST TOWN Featuring LET IT GO, RUN THAT, FACT NOT FICTION, DOLLARS and the previously unreleased bonus track THE GATE Few artists can legitimately claim to have helped shape the course of Dubstep. Caspa is one of them. The culmination of a six-month strong initiative that has seen Caspa reveal a new single each month, Translucent brings those parts together into one complete statement. The album also introduces fans to the final piece: THE GATE, a previously unreleased treat! Caspa's importance to Dubstep extends far beyond his own releases. He was there as the sound progressed from dark London rooms and stacks of dubplates into a global movement. With Dub Police and Sub Soldiers, he provided a platform for a generation of producers; his DJ sets carried the sound around the world and, with the now legendary FabricLive.37, he helped introduce a fresh, energetic interpretation of Dubstep to an audience far beyond its original underground. But legacy alone did not scratch the itch... What has kept Caspa relevant is his refusal to become a museum piece for a sound he helped build. He moves with Dubstep because he has never stepped away from it. That is reflected not only in his own productions, but in the artists he chooses to work with. In recent years, Caspa has continued to connect with the next generation of producers propelling bass music onward, with names including PEEKABOO, Distinct Motive, The Widdler, EAZYBAKED, MYTHM, Zero, Simula and more. It's these connections that represent something fundamental to Caspa's approach; rather than separating the pioneers from the new generation, he continues to put himself directly into the exchange of ideas happening within the culture absorbing new influences while bringing his own experience and distinct musicality to the table. And Translucent embodies that very philosophy. Not content with just recreating a particular era, the LP weaves Caspa's history with where he is creatively right now. There are echoes of the raw musical attitude that established his name, but delivered with the perspective of a producer who has spent more than twenty years learning, evolving and testing exactly how bass music should move a dance floor. That's what makes this latest offering more than just another release in an already formidable catalogue the sound of longevity without complacency. Translucent finally reveals the complete picture, with THE GATE providing the final piece of the puzzle.

Krafty Kuts doesn't follow trends, he shakes them up, sending shockwaves of sonic disruption through the scene, a force that now surges into his forthcoming album Turbulence. Krafty Kuts has never chased trends; instead, he has spent decades shaking them up - a philosophy that inspired the title of his forthcoming album, Turbulence. From early releases with Ministry of Sound, Fabric and Finger Lickin', to founding his own Against The Grain label and Brighton's Supercharged club nights, Krafty Kuts' career reads like a long-form study of British bass culture. Pulling from UKG, breaks, bassline and with flashes of jazz, Turbulence twists familiar forms into something far harder to pin down. The beats are fractured and the energy is unpredictable by design. Collaborations come loaded with pedigree and punch: MC Spyda (of Tarantula with Pendulum and Balaclava with Shy FX fame) rides the low-slung, future-leaning 'Running', while B Live cuts through the breakbeat-garage hybrid 'Best In Me'. Elsewhere, 'Rocket' glows with the soulful touch of Scarlett Quinn, and Skool of Thought helps unleash the broken beat juggernaut 'Flowers'. This isn't an album that blends genres - it destabilises them. Check out the club smashes 'Wub Juggler' and 'New Ting', with support spanning from Rinse FM to BBC Radio 1. 'Over the past few years I've been releasing an EP series called Breakin' Boundaries, because I've always been about exploring the full depth and range of bass and breaks-driven music, irrespective of sub-genre. This album has been a long time coming, and honestly, I feel like I've pushed my sound further than ever before. It's full-throttle bass, diving deep into where breaks can go next - but it also includes deep, melodic songs too' This marks the first artist album released on Against The Grain in a few years, inspired by the resurgence of interest in the breaks genre and its embrace by A-list artists such as Fred Again, Chris Lorenzo, Bonobo to name a few. But do not expect a polite reintroduction. This is Krafty Kuts with the lights down low and the bass turned up, delivering a contemporary body of work that, as the title suggests, is here to shake things up.
