Ready to hit it? New Orleans' fastest-rising bass crew sfam are back on DDD with Down the Bayou - an EP so murky, menacing and swampy - it makes deranged, mutant, meth-fuelled alligators seem like a placid pack of chihuahuas in bowties on the way to an Enya concert. The beats slap, the atmospheres repress and the subs will flex any rig to bursting point. As each track on Down the Bayou progresses, Jacob and Michael take their crushing sound to the next level. Production prowess is met with mixdown mastery and sound design straight out the Bayou's swampy marshlands. Collabs with KTRL and Bawldy deliver extra spice to an already red hot release. Come get twisted inside out with sfam on Down the Bayou. you may well regret it, but don't say you weren't warned.
'Aerials' marks the Mode Recordings debut for Manchester-based producer and Size Ten Records boss Tenshu. The title track comes out swinging with a driving kick pattern and the energy doesn't let up throughout this set of dancefloor-ready heaters, with bouncing grooves, and sub-bass equal parts weighty and wobbly. With this release Tenshu is at the top of his game, bringing together classic dubstep influences with his own unique, forward thinking flavour.
Distance brings new heat!! 'Eventuality' is unmistakably heavy - rooted in the pressure and low-end authority that defined the original UK sound - but it's elevated by cinematic sound design, evolving textures and spatial detail that give it real narrative momentum. It's not just a club weapon; it's a journey record. The atmospherics breathe, the tension builds deliberately, and when it lands, it lands with intent. Early support has been strong from tastemakers including DJ Pinch, J:Kenzo, Deep Tempo, Hebbe, and N-Type - all of whom recognise the balance here between system pressure and cinematic scale. Distance has always been synonymous with weight and precision engineering in Dubstep, and 'Eventuality' continues that lineage while expanding the sonic palette. It's mature, confident and built for serious systems. We'd love your support on air and in mixes. Appreciate your time - and I'm confident this one will resonate.
Wraz. is a man on a mission. Not only has the Montreal native cemented his place as one of the most talented producers in the dubstep scene, but his incredible work ethic, energy, and passion-matched by his undeniable talent-mean his ascension is quite simply inevitable. DDD has been proud to play our part in his career journey, and things are taking another step forward with the phenomenal album Rites. A tour de force of audio sorcery, savagery, and sacrilege, Rites subjects the listener to Wraz.' trademark mix of filthy 140 dubstep, thumping trap flavours, and industrial grittiness. This is expertly melded with stunning, captivating, suspense-filled interludes that provide counterpoints to the bass punishment in ways that are both tension inducing, yet beautiful. Featuring collaborations with label bossmen Truth and DDD favourite Hypho, Wraz.' sonic understanding of his craft feels unparalleled throughout. Each track brings its own unique flavour, while sitting together as a body of work with remarkable cohesion. As the first DDD vinyl drop of 2026-alongside its full digital release-Rites marks a seismic moment for both Wraz. and the 140 scene. Wraz. is putting the world to Rites, while we're living in his universe. Essential listening.
Held in Transmission explores music as something suspended between broadcast and memory. From the pirate radio energy of Pirates to the garage and post-dubstep lineage referenced in Feels So and FWD, the EP sits firmly in the echoes of UK bass culture. Virtues closes the project on a more personal note, drawing on environmental sounds recorded while touring New Zealand, allowing place and emotion to bleed into rhythm.
CONTRA - Big Skank / Six Four (DDD183) Following the runaway success of his debut DDD two-tracker last year, resident dubstep slapper CONTRA is back on DDD with a vengeance, delivering another double helping of bass badness: Big Skank / Six Four. Where Shantique / Double exercised musicality, left-field wonk and world-music flavours, these two tunes are all about sub punishment, synth savagery and pure dancefloor energy. We're not sure there's a skank big enough to do Big Skank justice, and with Six Four it's humanly impossible not to pull the biggest stink face as its drop knocks you senseless. Make sure you catch CONTRA on his Roots Revival Tour with fellow DDD badman Abstrakt Sonance, as they traverse the US and Canada over the next couple of months. With these two tunes in CONTRA's arsenal, it's less about Roots Revival and more about Roots Survival.
