    Beatport Staff Picks

London-based Dubstep innovator, Caspa unveils his latest single, 'Let It Go' via Ghost Town Records. This release marks his fourth single in as many months, underscoring an exceptionally prolific run for the artist and cementing his commitment to delivering fresh, bold sounds to his audience on a consistent basis. 'Let it Go' highlights Caspa's evolution as a producer, fusing the gritty baselines he's so well known for, with evocative melodies. Fans can expect an emotive landscape that dives deeper into more soulful territory, punctuated by pulsing low-end Sub that drives the journey. This is one you'll definitely want to hold onto.

    Bowels EP (FKOFd063)

    Dropfellas

    Beatport Staff Picks

'FKOF began as a blog in 2010, in part, as a way of profiling the artists I was meeting while going to dubstep nights in London during my time at university. One of the first shows I was going to on a regular basis was promoted by two low end enthusiasts from Torino in Italy. It was at Dark Side of London (DSOL) where I initially met Tony Content (when he was still playing out as Drama), Eddy Seven, Sai, the Fused Forces boys and a number of other producers and DJs who would go on to lay the foundations for what would become FKOF. It's safe to say that - without DSOL founders Paolo and Marco aka Dropfellas - we probably wouldn't be here today. 'The three of us reconnected in late 2024 when Paolo and Marco hit me up saying they were back in the studio working on new material. I even dug up an old flyer from the 2011 Easter bash (which has the FKOF logo on!) after moving house. We kept talking, Korrupt got involved on the A&R side of things when we got some demos, and things fell into place for what's dropping today. 'The 'Bowels' EP, 'FKOFd063' has been a labour of love for the four of us, and we're really stoked on how the music's ended up. The record spans four tunes that sit across the beats, bass and space ethos we've always worked with. Having been testing the record since we got the masters back from Beau 12 ish months ago, we can confirm all four bang. The more stripped back inclusions bring the pure bass weight earlier on the record and more of the stepper vibes close things out, with all evoking what Thursday nights at DSOL used to be like 15yrs or so ago on Shoreditch High Street. If we had to choose, however, the title track 'Bowels' is probably our pick of the bunch. 'FKOF has always been a bit of a family affair - when possible, working with our artists for years, and in some cases decades. We're delighted to continue the ethos with our 63rd outing on our digital imprint, welcoming Paolo and Marco back into the FKOF fam. Play the tunes loud, enjoy them, and hopefully see you in a DSOL x FKOF dance some day soon!'

    Normal Ways EP

    Drone

    Beatport Staff Picks

Drone returns for his fourth release on his Evil Sky imprint with 'Normal Ways', a 4-track EP that further pushes the boundaries of bass-heavy music. The EP blends 2-step, breaks, and dubstep, showcasing Drone's ever-evolving sound while staying true to his distinctive style. Opening with 'Ralph's Theme', a euphoric breaks-driven track, Drone explores a more melodic and emotional side of his production with soaring synths and vocal chops. 'Blurred Vision' follows, a bass-heavy 2-step number with powerful low-end and driving drums that capture Drone's signature intensity. 'Atom Bomb' is a dubstep weapon, a club-focused track loaded with hard-hitting bass and all the weight you expect from Drone's productions. Closing out the EP is the title track, 'Normal Ways' - a stripped-back, weighty cut with a deep sub, vocal chops, and grooving percussion, marking a return to a more minimalistic yet dynamic sound. 'Normal Ways' sees Drone push forward into new sonic territories while maintaining his signature style, making this EP another standout release on Evil Sky.

A supergroup made up of some of the finest technicians in the global dubstep underground right now, 4CROWNS are ready for their ascent to the throne of 140. Comprising Siskiyou, Karnage, Madan and The Greys, the collective comes out swinging with an outrageous slice of groove-laden, sub-flexing, sovereign-sourced bass badness: 'Roller'. Pairing up with Manchester MC Sparkz, don't be fooled by the ambient soundscape intro - as soon as the beat drops, the tune kicks into overdrive, with Sparkz's infectious flow letting rip over a mid-synth-laden, deep-wobbling slapper. Ready to get rolled? 4CROWNS are setting out their stall for a dubstep dynasty.
