Scepticz & SVB have finally made their long artistic collaboration official in the form of MIDAS. Having separately had releases on some of the best labels in the scene and played at some of the biggest gigs in Europe, they're proud to announce this new chapter to the world in the form of a steppy two-tracker that's all parts mean, low slung and features the vocal talents of the legendary COPPA. Sound of the Beat and What I Got is the first entry in what is set to be a long, fruitful career working at the bleeding edge of D&B. Distributed by Label Engine - www.label-engine.com
The percussive impact of a lone T-REX's talons echoed down the street with reptilian confidence, an emotion shared and augmented by the pompous mannerisms of the man who rode astride it. The beast's monstrous nature forced friend and enemy alike to take reverent notice of his very presence, and the man quite enjoyed being the center of attention as his mount lumbered through the jagged alleyways that had long been his home. Lost amidst his own grandeur, his mind wandered to thoughts of childhood bullies, business rivals, and others of an unappreciable ilk. They, he smugly thought, did not have the latest model of theropod mount. His, by contrast, was magnificent as it fed upon the occasional stray or frightened bird and left a smattering of spattered crimson in his wake. As a science, genomic revival had been actualized for almost as long as the man himself had been alive. He had for so long dreamed of this day, having watched in envy as the folk of the upper city rode upon perfect biological chimera that answered to their every whim. Though the costs associated with the creation of such creatures had decreased significantly, such prestigious beasts as his own T-REX still lay well beyond the income of a mere android repairman like himself. Thus it was that as he had happened upon the body of his current mount clinging to life atop a local scrap heap, he had rushed to its aid and imbued its body with every piece of spare artificial biology at his disposal. Now, as the cybernetic augmentations to his beast's ruddy hide shone lustrous in the sun, the man reclined pridefully into his saddle as he uttered a silent prayer in the hopes that his hacked together diet inhibitor would continue to keep himself off of his new mount's menu. MIDNIGHT CVLT returns to EATBRAIN with T-REX, a five track EP that sees one of EATBRAIN's most recent additions unleash a furious follow-up to 2023's "Bloodfire" EP on the label. Marked by the menacing sonic character so alluded to by his moniker, the five tracks within T-REX are sure to induct a fresh batch of souls into the EATBRAIN horde under the sway of MIDNIGHT CVLT's undeniable influence.

Part II: Bottom Line In the sinful maze of his life, amidst the pulsating rhythm of urban life, there resided a seeker. Within the confines of solitude, amidst the whispers of doubt and the echoes of societal expectations, the seeker grappled with the enigma of his purpose. In the dance of his mind's shadows, the seeker communed with the essence of his core. The irritating storm of voices clamored for conformity, urging the seeker to forsake the path of intangible dreams for the allure of the tangible bottom line. Yet, in the sanctum of creativity, amidst the silence of his shell, the seeker found solace. A dogma unfolded, transcending the constraints of materiality, unveiling the truth. The truth that was the base of his path, the one that he believed in from the very beginning. For in the act of creation, the seeker discovered liberation, purpose, identity. The resolution of his doubts. Armed with naught but the fervor of passion, in the center of the tumultuous tides of uncertainty, the seeker remained steadfast as an infinite beam of boundless imagination, unwavering in the pursuit of the final transcendence. For in the realm of abstraction, true wealth resides in the boundless expanse of imagination, the unfettered spirit of creation, and the eternal quest for meaning beyond measure. In you.

Hey this is Skwirl here to gab at you briefly about the records we have coming for our first thematic cluster! The theme is Circadian Rhythms and so as you might expect the records are presented to you by time of day. We have daylight hours, late afternoon/evening, nighttime and afterhours selections for you. The Crane - For The Birds For The Birds is the lovely kind of record that wastes no time in charming you with its quirky, lively and endlessly colourful palette and feels easy to start back at the top when it concludes. Stephen Hedley (aka The Crane) is responsible for holding down the daylight hours slot and there could not be a better record to see the good ship Circadian Rhythms off into the balmy seas of your good ears. Theres a kindly warm nostalgic note here reminiscent of 90s era Warp records: if youll forgive the moment of genre gab, there are hints of dusty IDM that interweave with moments of downtempo, deep house materialises from a bed of garageits tender, explorative, immaculately crafted and fiercely original. From the opening squiggles of signal to the final hauntingly disembodied RnB vocal snippets this record is unassuming, unpretentious, infectiously melodic and full of delightful twists and turns. Its one of my favourite records of all time, and it is sure to bring a twinkle to the eye, a crane to the neck (if youll pardon), and a pep to the step.
George Claassen, aka G-Class, was schooled in the roots of Jungle from birth; his father was an avid Reggae & Dancehall record collector. By the time he was 18, G Class was remixing Dancehall classics, and moving on to his own productions. Inspired by Chase & Status, Shy FX & Benny Page, his remix of Konshens' Guerilla scored no.3 in the Hypedit chart, followed by the no.1 smash, 'Pon De Replay Bootleg' by Rihanna, released on Invicta. Never one to sit still, as the 23 year old forges his Jungle career, he's also studying Music Production at Leed Conservatoire. The Cool Down EP contains four slabs of immaculately produced Jungle, collaborating with Italian vocalist Efno on 'Music Tun Up' and some of the South West's hottest talent; Junior Dog jumps on 'Sidung', Mad Sam runs 'Murda Sound', and Vanda steps up for 'Cool Down'. All Junglists stand up! These tracks are sure to be the soundtrack to summer '24 For licencing & label enquires, please contact Martin Flex: martin@hotcakesmusic.com

Take a shot is a brazen manifestation of resilience in an industry centred around microwave mentalities and TikTok culture. A no holds barred proclamation of self-worth. Years of lonely train journeys making beats and writing verses to arrive at studios with people I've never met. Long nights of getting nowhere to wake up lost in the morning. Buying dreams, losing steam yet staying keen. There's really no time to accept defeat; growth can get messy sometimes but it will all take shape in the end. TIC Makes a return to the label this time with his own single alongside Precinct Regular 'Clusion' Tricky percussion and bouncy bass leaves precise spaces for Toms vocal that sits perfectly bedded within the groove.
Much time had passed since the uprising of the demon kings had sprung forth from the ancient obelisk, bringing ruin to the great city that had been built around it. Yet more had passed since humanity had lost their homeworld to these malevolent creatures, who poured out from the monument with no other desire than to torture, pillage, and destroy. For years, all-out war had raged on the Earth's surface and yet for all of humanity's most valiant efforts, the killing of one demon had begotten only the rising of two more. In their final hour, those scant few who survived had fled to the stars, abandoning the wreckage of their beloved home. It was there that they maintained an uneasy existence above it, one tied to the sanctuary of a handful of meager orbital stations scattered amidst their solar system. It was from these stations that they now watched in horror as a great celestial body rapidly entered their domain, its surface scarred by gargantuan visages of suffering and despair that protruded from its surface. As it neared the abandoned remains of their homeworld, the gravity well of the hellish sphere sucked its shattered pieces almost instantaneously inward as though feeding the horrific faces that marred its ochre hide. Though sound permeated not through the vacuum of space, the minds of all those who watched were split by a psychic scream of pleasure that emanated forth from the planet as though it were a living being. Then, as though sated by the life it had consumed, it began to drift back beyond the bounds of their solar system, completing the cycle of DIVERGENCE once more. EATBRAIN unveils the massive fifth entry in their divergence series with DIVERGENCE V, a two-part release featuring a monstrous array of 38 new tracks from names novel and veteran to the label alike. Packed within is the full fury of the EATBRAIN horde; unrestrained, unrestricted, and unrelenting in its deliverance of Drum & Bass's hardest edges.

Critical Music is proud to present 'Pyro', the debut album from Brighton-based drum & bass producer Particle. After more than half a decade starting fires for not just Critical, but powerhouse labels such as Shogun Audio, Hospital Records and Drum&BassArena, alongside remixes for Enei, Hybrid Minds and Skeptical, Particle is ready to set 2024 fully ablaze with an incendiary collection of tracks that confirm his status among D&B's most innovative and essential artists. From the sliding, massive yet minimal funk of the album's eponymous opening track through to the chunky VIP version of scene anthem 'No Mistakes' that closes the LP, 'Pyro' is the sound of an artist hitting his stride, expressing himself and his skills across ten faultlessly rendered slabs of sonic art that nod deftly to every era and style of jungle/drum & bass. Showcasing Particle's smoother side, there's the silken chords, icy pads and glittering vocals of immaculate liquid roller 'Focus' with Javeon, the 90s jungle-tinted link-up with YAANO on 'Glimmer' and the aptly named 'Heaven' with its smart breakbeat twists and trademark vocal flips. 'Pyro' packs plenty of peak-hour heat, too, balancing its more polished and musical moments with a clutch of tracks aimed straight at the dance floor. The booming old school subs of 'Fooling', the wasp-chewing mid-range contortions of 'Assasin' and 'Needles' with Critical stablemate EN:VY, the gloriously strange stuttering jungle of 'REM' and the tense, nervous dark side stomping link-up with Inja on 'The Message' will all give Particle's many fans exactly what they're expecting - and leave anyone new to his sound burning for more.
