Sempa teams up with IC3 on MAKE SOME, a sharp, bass-driven release that blurs the lines between 140, breaks and UK garage, while marking a clear turning point for both the artist and the Hot Cakes label. Built around punchy percussion, weighty subs and a restless rhythmic swing, MAKE SOME sits comfortably between scenes without committing to just one. Elements of classic UK dancefloor energy are reworked through a modern 140-focused lens, resulting in a track that feels raw, functional and forward-thinking. IC3's presence adds urgency and grit, locking tightly with the beat and pushing the track's momentum. The release represents a rebirth of Hot Cakes, signalling a renewed direction for the label, while also reflecting Sempa's transition into a deeper, more defined 140-based sound. Rather than leaning on nostalgia, MAKE SOME reframes familiar influences into something direct and contemporary, a statement of intent aimed squarely at systems, clubs and late-night dancefloors. With MAKE SOME, Sempa continues to carve out his place within the evolving UK bass landscape, bridging tempos and styles while keeping the focus on impact, groove and atmosphere. MAKE SOME is a release rooted in UK dance music tradition but shaped by its future - equally at home in a dark club room or cutting through on a sound system, and a strong signal of what's next for both Sempa and Hot Cakes. Wraz. is a man on a mission. Not only has the Montreal native cemented his place as one of the most talented producers in the dubstep scene, but his incredible work ethic, energy, and passion-matched by his undeniable talent-mean his ascension is quite simply inevitable. DDD has been proud to play our part in his career journey, and things are taking another step forward with the phenomenal album Rites. A tour de force of audio sorcery, savagery, and sacrilege, Rites subjects the listener to Wraz.' trademark mix of filthy 140 dubstep, thumping trap flavours, and industrial grittiness. This is expertly melded with stunning, captivating, suspense-filled interludes that provide counterpoints to the bass punishment in ways that are both tension inducing, yet beautiful. Featuring collaborations with label bossmen Truth and DDD favourite Hypho, Wraz.' sonic understanding of his craft feels unparalleled throughout. Each track brings its own unique flavour, while sitting together as a body of work with remarkable cohesion. As the first DDD vinyl drop of 2026-alongside its full digital release-Rites marks a seismic moment for both Wraz. and the 140 scene. Wraz. is putting the world to Rites, while we're living in his universe. Essential listening.
Kyoto-based Stones Taro is a producer and DJ who has established a unique standing within the global dance music scene. After operating the NC4K label since 2017, he embarks on a new challenge by launching his own self-release series. The inaugural release, titled 'Foglore,' is characterized by its foggy sound design and timeless arrangements reminiscent of folk tales. In this four-track release, Stones Taro explores a fresh interpretation of the fusion between Dub, Techno, and Deep House. These tracks capture the essence of contemporary music in intriguing ways, yet feel as familiar as if they have existed since ancient times.
