The world has had an inauspicious start to 2026, which only strengthens our resolve here at Selador HQ to be in the vanguard of the cultural fightback, using the power of music to unite, and promote love and empathy. Our boss men have this in their DNA, having been fighting the good fight for several decades – so it seems only fitting that we kick off our new year schedule with this double header, one sonically seismic cut from each of our beloved team leaders. Freeze sees Steve pick up where he left off after an epic 2025. The title is a dedication to Rob Casson, promoter of the Freeze club events in Liverpool for whom Steve played on numerous occasions, and who sadly passed away last year way too young. Steve does Robs memory proud courtesy of an uplifting throbber which turns the energy levels up to 11, building its way to a euphoric breakdown which ushers in a peak time finale. Dave, similarly on a roll in 25 and with a massive 26 already shaping up, weighs in with a monster in the shape of the Ego Savvy, a seductive vocal enticing us to come on in against a musical backdrop which echoes the darker side of classic early Chicago house with its combo of brooding bassline, undeniably funky percussion and swaggering riffage. Team Selador – still savvy.
