Based in Johannesburg, Kilogram follows his debut – Dirty Screws, with this one. He specializes in Deep House, drawing inspiration from top producers like Saison, Dam Swindle, and Jeremy Sylvester. Although relatively new to the scene, his work has already made waves with releases on labels such as House Salad Music, Lisbon Journeys Records, and Jive Afrika Recordings. With a promising career ahead, Kilogram is sure to continue delivering quality music, and we look forward to his return to Piston Recordings in the future. Off The Leash opens the release, introing with warm, soulful piano chords that set a laid-back, loungy atmosphere, which is enhanced with crowd ambience and crackling textures. Punchy kicks and sharp claps drive the rhythm, while crispy hi-hats add a crisp, bright energy to the percussion. A lush bassline grooves underneath, creating a smooth and warm foundation. A dedicated DJ and producer, iMarcus enjoys blending genres like Deep House, House, Nu Disco, and Techno. Since 2017, his tracks have been signed to respected labels such as Antarctic Records, BBop Music, Phunk Traxx, and Maintain. With a focus on new releases and upcoming mix sessions, were delighted to welcome him back to the label. Find The Way gets us moving with thick, warm kicks that resonate with a rich, full-bodied sound, creating a solid foundation. Were delighted to have Paul Matic return to Piston Recordings with his latest release, Translations. A talented producer and multi-instrumentalist, Pauls passion for house music dates back to the late 80s when he was first drawn to the infectious energy of acid house. Since then, he has devoted himself to exploring house music in its many forms. Since 2016, Paul has been delivering exceptional tracks on renowned labels, with a focus on deep and tech house. This one follows his last effort here with Jazzmeen and we eagerly anticipate more from him in the future. The Original Mix opens with muted kicks and sharp claps that create a crisp contrast. Rustling percussions add an organic, live feel. As the track builds, striking saxophone notes cut through, while warm chords rise in the background.
