Mutual Rytm spawns new sub-label 'Versus' with debut EP from longtime techno associates Regent and Chontane. Continuing to expand its creative world, SHDW's Mutual Rytm imprint now introduces 'Versus' - a new sub- label crafted for creative symbiosis between two artists across one shared release. Opening the series with authority, Regent and Chontane man the debut offering - two close friends and native Berliners who have been shaping techno for more than 15 years. Both long-standing members of the Mutual Rytm family, having released multiple times here before, the pair have always created music informed by life immersed in their local scene. Having both mutually influenced one another over the years, here they present their shared interpretation of techno with individual artistic DNA, forming a unified sound that represents the best of both worlds. Regent goes first, leaning towards functional, anthemic, dance-floor-focused techno. 'Ephemera' is tight, minimal but forceful; 'Slow Burn' has synth tension rising through the dark, next to glitchy percussion; and 'Afterglow' lets in more light, bringing otherworldly synths that hang above the groove and consume your focus. Chontane then explores a more musical and unconventional approach. 'Plaxaric' is supple, warm, and deep techno that tunnels into an abyss. 'Grounding Factor' is just as economical in design, but with introverted funk and evolving layers of sound. 'Mental Lab' spins out into complex rhythms inspired equally by IDM, jungle, and techno. It's a mental workout as well as a physical one. Both artists add a pair of digital bonus tracks. Regent's 'Control Room' and 'Rarely Enough' deliver elevated, hypnotic tools, before Chontane's 'Escore' and 'Outside In' bring extroverted drum patterns along with contrasting melodic unease.
Portuguese techno force Lewis Fautzi debuts under his own name on Mutual Rytm with Beneath The Surface. The six-track EP features the release of the much hyped title track on 3rd April 2026. Hailing from Barcelos, Portuguese maestro Lewis Fautzi has carved out a formidable reputation through a run of uncompromising releases and a sound rooted in tension, precision and raw power - exemplified by his recent outing on the agenda-setting Hayes Collective. He has previously established his fierce, potent sound on Soma, PoleGroup, Mord, and a number of other influential labels, while also heading up Faut Section. Having previously appeared on Mutual Rytms Federation Of Rytm III compilation under his Non Cyclic alias, he now steps out on SHDWs label with a six-tracker busting full of impactful techno cuts. The heavily-requested Beneath The Surface opens the EP with menacing low-end and tightly coiled pressure thats released through simmering valves and hissing synths. The Hollow Cycle brings a loopy, tunnelling groove with a snaking lead and snaking metallic percussion, while Inner Mechanism keeps things dark, deep and driving with a backlit glow that pulls you in. Nonlinear Form is streamlined deep techno that fizzes with texture, spraying chords and a rumbling sub-bass, while closer Anamorph rides meticulously designed broken beats with an ever-present sense of bass-driven foreboding. For digital purchasers, sparse and eerie bonus Surface slams down with industrial weight and real warehouse grit, shaping up another weighty offering for the label.

Federation Of Rytm IV celebrates connection across generations, while capturing the sounds that inspire me most — telling a story from start to finish. – SHDW. Across 30 tracks in the digital collection and 24 on four sides of wax, the release explores the full breadth of the Mutual Rytm sound. Driving grooves and relentless percussion set the pace, gradually unfolding into hypnotic and atmospheric passages that invite deeper immersion. Pulsating low-end power alternates with eerie minimalism, while bursts of futuristic energy and cavernous kick drums keep the tension high. Elsewhere, dub textures and moments of introspection provide balance, creating a narrative arc that moves fluidly between intensity and release, atmosphere and tension, darkness and light.
