Across the square, Van Gogh's Sunflowers blaze in thick golden impasto while Almond Blossom unfurls in pale blue against a turning season. From the Rembrandthuis on Jodenbreestraat to the canal-side studios of the Jordaan, a city that has long painted with brush and colour now paints with sonic splendour – its brushstrokes laid down in beats and basslines by a global fraternity of modern masters. Twenty-two new canvases hang side by side in a gallery without constraint.
