DDD founders Truth are here to transport you into a dreamstate of otherworldly etherealness with The Sandman EP - the duo's latest offering of trippy, soundscape-rich and sub-flexing deep dubstep mastery.\nLike the mythical character from Scandinavian folklore himself, across these six tracks Dre and Tristan take listeners on a dream-like journey into the depths of their subconscious.\n\nWhat? with LA bass badman Onhell immediately sets off on this woozy, wonky, whimsical passage into the unknown as the Sandman's influence takes hold. \n\nThe metal-influenced, trap-infused sonics of Closer, featuring Canadian don Stylust, send you deeper into dream paralysis, before Sandman's synth-laden textures and melodic flourishes shoot you into another galaxy - before Bang! comes to the fore to jolt you. A rave-ending 140 dubstep slapper.\n\nWe transition to a deep sleep with Wavelength, its luscious arpeggios and euphoric soundscapes serving as the perfect introduction to this new world, UFO closes proceedings in a way only Truth can - a tune that will send the dance into meltdown while still delivering the rich, hypnotic musicality needed to teleport listeners to another dimension.\n\nReady to go on a journey with The Sandman? We didn't think so.
Dr Ushuu - Let Me / Aliens (DDD186) Dr Ushuu is producing some of the sickest beats in the dubstep scene right now, without doubt. With that in mind, we're beyond hyped to be bringing him into the DDD stable with a two tracker so hot and fiery, it makes the sun seem like Neptune in the depths of its dark winters. With Let Me / Aliens his mix of exquisite production skill, composition and energy ready to tear up the dance - with Let Me's deep, pulsating sonics giving way for Aliens raw rowdiness with a drop that will send ravers to outer space. The Dr is serving up his latest prescription of bass bangers, this one's lethal. You've been warned.
CONTRA - Big Skank / Six Four (DDD183) Following the runaway success of his debut DDD two-tracker last year, resident dubstep slapper CONTRA is back on DDD with a vengeance, delivering another double helping of bass badness: Big Skank / Six Four. Where Shantique / Double exercised musicality, left-field wonk and world-music flavours, these two tunes are all about sub punishment, synth savagery and pure dancefloor energy. We're not sure there's a skank big enough to do Big Skank justice, and with Six Four it's humanly impossible not to pull the biggest stink face as its drop knocks you senseless. Make sure you catch CONTRA on his Roots Revival Tour with fellow DDD badman Abstrakt Sonance, as they traverse the US and Canada over the next couple of months. With these two tunes in CONTRA's arsenal, it's less about Roots Revival and more about Roots Survival.
Belgian bass lord Substrada may well hold claim to be the most disgusting producer in the underground dubstep scene. His tunes are grotty, grimey and damn well grotesque - and the stench of filth is no stronger smelt than this monstrous two tracker: Vandalblast / Ruffa (ft. Kyber). Two tracks that ooze freakish hideousness - pairing up with Kyber on Ruffa, that may well be 2026's most disgusting drop. Come experience the grot - Substrada's serving it up.
