    Mirrorball Sleaze

    Beatport New Releases

Anticipation, excitement and all manner of other exalted emotions are reaching fever pitch at Selador HQ, and throughout the community of wondrous souls we call Seladoria, as Dave's beyond long-awaited debut album hoves into view. This club-ready mix package of the title track will only serve to send such emotions stratospheric.\n\nAs with several of the album's tracks, this beauty sees Dave's past and present collide ceremoniously, as his 2015 single 'Strobelight Symphony' is referenced (a single which itself took inspiration from the brilliant Superstars of Rock, signed to Dave's 90s imprint Stress Recordings). However, Mirrorball Sleaze is both 100\%\% new, and as now as humanly possible. It's a brand-new retro trick that only those with Dave's level of knowledge and experience could pull off.\n\nThe album's achingly beautiful beatless version (aka the Freedrumapella) features, and will no doubt soundtrack many a pre- or post-club session, sounding as if it's just waltzed in from Dave's legendary Back to Mine set from back in the day. However, fear not dancefloor disciples as we have a brace of souped-up versions that invite you to jack your bodies like there's no tomorrow.\n\nDave's own interpretation trips the light fantastic, both brooding and euphoric in equal measures; at home as both a party starter or a night closer. Take your pick. Meanwhile, the Tronic duo of mainman Christian Smith and label mate D-Shift team up for the peak time mix, melodic wonk of the highest order, with beats 'n' riffs ricocheting round speaker stacks with reckless abandon. All bases covered.\n\nWhichever you choose, there'd better be a mirrorball!\n\nTeam Selador – Sleazy Does It!

    Godsexy

    Danny Howells

    Beatport Top Releases

You can't keep a good man down. Or should that be, you can't keep a God man shut down? Er, no it shouldn't actually – we don't need to resort to painful punnery or woeful wordplay here (much as it can provide an entertaining diversion). This is DANNY HOWELLS we be talking about – you know it's gonna be beyond essential, you just want us to tell you how far beyond, and why. GodSexy (the best unused track title in Prince's sadly now dormant Future Titles notebook) throbs and bounces in all the right places. Positively sprightly whilst also oozing depth, it unveils itself layer after beautiful layer. In true Howells style, it sits alone and imperious in a world above and beyond mere genres, sonically cerebral yet simultaneously 100\%\% dancefloor ready. Urgently uplifting, inspirationally intense. Shut Down is House Heaven meets Danny Does Disco in characteristically off-kilter (and peerless) fashion. Driven by a twisted percussive loop and a seductive vocal sample, aided and abetted by hypnotically funky guitar licks and lush chords that duck and dive like the (original) Artful Dodger, it's all about the tension between analogue evangelism and digital futurism. Yowsah. Team Selador – we'll be here in sunshine or in shadow, oh Danny Boy, oh Danny Boy, we love you so!
