More than just a collection of tracks, this release embodies the essence of transformation, connection, and the profound moments that define our journey. The compilations name and artwork were born from a chance encounter at Fusion Festival 2023, where the energy of the moment led to deep conversations about music, spirituality, and the sacred African plant medicine, Iboga. Inspired by this serendipitous meeting, Rite of Passage weaves together genre-defying, driving soundscapes that guide listeners on a journey beyond the dancefloor—into realms of introspection and sonic euphoria. At the heart of XXV has always been a 25-year story - a body of work shaped by movement, curiosity, and the long arc of finding our sound. This next chapter opens that story back up, handing it over to others to see what echoes return. These remixes are not just alternate versions. They're reflections refracted through different studios, different minds, different moments in time. Each artist has taken something familiar and stretched it, stripped it back, or rebuilt it entirely. In doing so, they've shown us parts of our own music we hadn't yet seen. Over the years, the landscape around us has shifted countless times. Scenes evolve, technology rewrites the rules, and dance floors find new energy. But what remains constant is the dialogue between artist and listener, between past and present, between one interpretation and the next. This release lives in that space. Hearing these tracks transformed reminds us that music is never fixed. What began in small rooms, late nights, and instinctive decisions now moves outward again: reshaped, reimagined, and given new life through a wider community of artists we respect deeply. There's something grounding in that. A sense that the journey doesn't just move forward, it loops, expands, and reconnects. To everyone who contributed their time, perspective, and craft to this release - thank you. And to those who've carried this music with you over the years, on dance floors and in your own lives, this is as much yours as it is ours. XXV Remixed. A continuation, a conversation, and a reminder that the story is still unfolding. Arohanui, Antix
As a first glimpse into the upcoming album from Atmos, Two Pole Taurus (Different Planet Mix) sets the coordinates. Where the album version leans into a more modern soundscape with a wobbling feel to it, this version traces a different line closer to the source. Built around a raw, driving bassline and oriental-tinged melodies, the "Different Planet Mix" offers a deliberate contrast to the album cut, operating within the logic and intensity of classic goa trance. Not as nostalgia, but as reconstruction. The shapes are familiar, the energy immediate, but the weight and clarity belong to now. It's less a throwback and more a parallel version - same origin, different outcome. Beyond its musical identity, Two Pole Taurus carries a deeper narrative. The track stands as a tribute to Jeroen of Synchro, whose piece Next Stop Oblivion left a lasting imprint. Atmos had originally crafted a remix of that work, but due to circumstances beyond control, it never saw an official release. In response, Two Pole Taurus emerges not just as a track, but as completion to a trajectory that never fully landed.
