Clubsonica Records opens the new year by welcoming Antrim back to the label for a new EP. Continuing to build on his remarkable career, the Cordoba resident ended 2023 looking back on what was perhaps his best year to date. 'Risk / Suru' via his Or Two Strangers imprint got the year underway in impressive fashion, setting up a string of excellent offerings via Paul Thomas' UV, Nick Warren's The Soundgarden and Guy Mantzur's Moments. Antrim's creative partnership with Clubsonica dates back almost a decade, with his label debut being a 2015 remix of Kamilo Sanclemente's 'The Art of Voice', a release which would lead to two well-received singles 'Catwalk' and 'Hoffnung', the latter of which being a Beatport Organic House number one release. Now, a as perennial favourite of Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, Antrim makes a welcome return to Clubsonica with 'La Fin Du Monde | Meeting Point', alongside remixes from Dabeat & Juan Pablo Torrez and D-Nox. Antrim continues to find a perfect balance between trendsetting sounds and timeless musicality with the lead selection 'La Fin Du Monde'. A DJ friendly intro sets a lively mood with rolling grooves, shuffling rhythms and a clever coax of clattering percussion. Building energy with each successive pass, its vibrant effects and aquatic arps add colour to what is a mature club-effective arrangement, perfectly leading to a series of emotive chord changes and a tranquil break, one which furthers its dancefloor appeal as an uplifting final ensues. The companion piece 'Meeting Point' showcases Antrim's studio repertoire further with a smooth and equally engaging journey. Clocking in at over eight minutes in length, the Cordoba resident's creative prowess shines once again, as he crafts a lively club cut that is rich with rhythm, groove and atmosphere. Thunderous bass swells, hopeful pads and a capsizing swing create a perfect balance of energy and emotion, before giving way to a haunting break and groove-centric drop that's sure to leave a lasting memory on the dancefloor. The lone interpretation of 'La Fin Du Monde' is provided by occasional studio partners Dabeat & Juan Pablo Torrez. Sitting as one of Colombia's premiere progressive house talents, David Barragan aka Dabeat has enjoyed a steady rise since first emerging in 2008 with a release courtesy of Beatfreak Recordings. The next decade saw David perfect his craft with a sound that many describe as groovy, dynamic and emotional. Now laying claim to an impressive discography, the Santiago de Cali resident has showcased his music via Anjunadeep, Mango Alley, Plattenbank, Proton, Replug and Sudbeat, while continuing to receive play and support from the genre's premiere tastemakers. Meanwhile, Colombian artist and Clubsonica label boss Juan Pablo Torrez has also compiled an impressive resume since first emerging in 2007. Mango Alley, Plattenbank, The Soundgarden, UV and more have served as landing spots for his progressive creations, while world class DJs Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren have been steadfast supporters along the way. Also highly regarded as a DJ, Juan remains one of Colombia's premiere talents, sharing the stage with Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Sasha, Matador, and more. Having previously worked together on a variety of successful releases, Dabeat and Juan combine their extensive forces once again, returning to Clubsonica to begin the year with a gorgeous interpretation of 'La Fin Du Monde'. Focusing on a lighter monochrome, the Colombian duo takes greater aim at the dancefloor for what results in a poignant journey. Rebounding rhythms and deep chugging basslines set the course for snatches of flickering percussion, shapeshifting effects and vibrant arpeggiated sequences. Looking to bring a profound emotional response, it's a series of stirring chord changes which carry through a spirited break, before a rush of drums and effects cues a heartfelt finale which an astute dancefloor will certainly appreciate. The release concludes with D-Nox returning to the label with the lone interpretation of 'Meeting Point'. Hailing from Germany but now based in Brazil, D-Nox has continued to thrill fans with both cutting edge music and enlightening DJ sets. Whether operating in solo capacity or as one half of D-Nox & Beckers, the German artist lays claim to an impressive resume, highlighted by releases on Bedrock, Einmusika, Monaberry, Sudbeat and his own Sprout imprint. Clubsonica has also been a landing spot for D-Nox's elusive production touch, with the Sao Paulo resident's label debut coming in 2020 with a remix of 'Espiral' by Parallel Universe, a chart topping version which would lead to last years rendition of 'Niflheim' by Sex Mind, a crossover style creation produced alongside progressive house phenom Gai Barone. Now, getting the new year off to a resounding start, D-Nox makes a welcome return to Clubsonica with an inspired take on 'Meeting Point'. Beginning with tough kick drums and chugging grooves, D-Nox dubs down the textural vibe of the original into something tougher and more energetic. Its rolling rhythms and detailed approach are sure to be a delight for progressive house aficionados, while anthemic chord stabs and rejuvenating pads create a gorgeous canopy of sound which seals its dancefloor appeal.

Clubsonica Records rounds out a successful year by welcoming CHRSTPHR to the label for his debut EP. Based in Hungary, Kristof Szabados aka CHRSTPHR first emerged in 2018 with a release via Spiral Music. Noted for his club-effective tech-house sound, it was a cover of Brainbug's classic 'Nightmare' in 2021 which officially made the Hungarian an artist to watch. The next two calendar years would prove impactful for CHRSTPHR, as he signed on to long-standing tech-house imprints Cr2 Records, Farris Wheel Recordings and Panterre Musique, all outlets where his dancefloor minded approach flourished. Now, following a well-received debut for Coronita Records, CHRSTPHR makes his Clubsonica debut with 'Anomaly | Miss You', alongside remixes from Kostya Outta and Deviu. Looking to showcase a more melodic side of his repertoire, CHRSTPHR aims squarely at the dance floor with lead selection 'Anomaly'. The Hungarian artist masterfully marries astral sonics and emotive vocals with punchy kick drums and rolling grooves. An array of melodic hooks and orbiting effects steal the air across the first act, adding texture and depth leading into the heart of the journey. Coming to full fruition across the main break, it's a clever coax of ghostly vocals and poignant chord changes which creates a hopeful vibe, building anticipation with each successive pass, before giving way to mature drop and effects-laden finale. The companion piece 'Miss You' lands with a deeper, more ethereal approach. Enticing from the start, its punchy grooves, haunted vocal samples and evolving soundscapes marry perfectly for mid-set moments. Pushing the narrative further, a transcendent break sits at the heart of the journey, flowing through soulful guitar motifs and warm bass swells, before a marching drop sets the course for a melancholic conclusion. Making his label debut with the first interpretation of 'Anomaly' is Kostya Outta. Born and raised in Belarus but now based in Poland, Kostya Outta first emerged just over a decade ago. On the success of early tracks such as 'High Flyers' and 'Silence', Kostya's groovy melodic sound was born, making him a new breed of progressive house producers to watch going forward. A continued evolution in sound across the last three years has seen the Belarusian artist rise into one of the genre's most in demand talents. World class DJs Eelke Kleijn, Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, among others, have been steadfast supporters along the way, while releases via Afterglow, Deepwibe Underground and Mango Alley have been discography highlights. Now, following an impressive debut for Cid Inc's Replug Records, Kostya adds Clubsonica to his resume with a huge rendition of 'Anomaly'. Bringing a progressive state of mind, Kostya carefully balances the emotion of the original with his own melodic groove-centric sound. Re-processed vocals and vibrant melodies steal the air atop punchy beats, chunky grooves and acid-like stabs, for what results in the ultimate dance floor bomb. Returning to the label for the second and final interpretation of 'Anomaly' is Deviu'. Based in Pasto, the Colombian artist began his journey into electronic music production in 2014 under a variety of alias', before eventually settling on Deviu in 2020. Created as an outlet to explore the realms of deep, progressive and organic house, Deviu would go on to secure releases via respected brands in Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, Nora En Pure's Purified and Berlin powerhouse Steyoyoke, where his far-reaching sound immediately found footing. Clubsonica has also been a comfortable home for the Colombian, with his debut coming last year with a remix of 'Zulu' by JFR, a project which would lead to his 'Two Worlds' EP later that same year. Now, rounding out 2023 on a strong note, Deviu returns to Clubsonica with a spirited take on 'Anomaly'. While maintaining the elusive spirit of the original, Deviu aims squarely at a peak hour dancefloor with a sweeping sonic experience all his own. An exhilarating journey where spirited vocals, trance-inducing melodies and emotional overlays surface from their energy inducing architecture, resulting in a version that is sure to send people home with a smile.
