When the World Heals / Embers in Bloom

    Eichenbaum

    Beatport Staff Picks

After a 3-month hiatus, Meanwhile Horizons returns with another immaculately conceived EP. "When the World Heals / Embers in Bloom" sees label debutant, Eichenbaum, take centre stage with a highly developed twin-track offering. Born in Buenos Aires and exposed to variety of different music in the bustling metropolis, a move to New Zealand saw Eichenbaum focus on the Progressive House sound that has seen him become such a renowned figure in the genre. Based on the idyllic Waiheke Island with its Mediterranean climate, the Argentine-native has been a regular across the clubs and festivals of his adopted home. Furthermore, he has been a global performer in such exotic locations as Argentina, Japan, Mexico and the Netherlands, alongside the likes of Nick Warren, Sasha, Guy J and Hernán Cattaneo. In parallel, a successful production portfolio has seen a growing number of tracks feature on some of the most esteemed imprints within the Progressive House genre. As such, Mango Alley, Balance Music, Plattenbank and Forty Cats' PURRFECTION have all played host to the Eichenbaum sound as Andres now makes his Meanwhile Horizons debut. Characterised by a gorgeous, deep groove, lightened by delicious woodblock percussion, "When the World Heals" is a poignant reminder of music's beauty. Flowing steadily, a cornucopia of melodies, entwine and tumble over each other in a lush and hedonistic soundscape teeming with life. A strong cadenced bassline makes its presence felt as the track moves past the breakdown into the second half, giving a subtle and deeply inspiring dancefloor character. Following on with a similarly lavish and carefree sound, "Embers in Bloom" lights up with an immaculately programmed percussive and smooth sub-bass groove. Cascading pads wash over the listener in stereo-panned waves while a crystalline arpeggio cuts through the softer textures. Building through the stripped back middle section, a rousing bass crescendo and fizzing risers pave the way for a return to the deep and mesmerising foundation of earlier phases. Well worth the wait in a compelling and captivating set of soundscapes, Eichenbaum has certainly seen his production work flourish on "When the World Heals / Embers in Bloom". Beatport Staff Picks

Paul Deep began his illustrious career aged just 16, becoming one of Argentina's unsung electronic dance heroes. With music signed to everyone from All Day I Dream to Beat Boutique via The Soundgarden and more, his signature deep beats have soundtracked dance floors worldwide. Opening this trio of delight with 'Tique', a tough drum beat and low slung bass keep it minimal and techy as layers of percussion deepen the tension. Melodics explode in the break, transforming the track's direction. A powerful and understated peak time bruiser. Next up, 'The Return' employs a similar vibe. Rocking from the off, the call and response dynamics create dynamism and interest as the track develops. Techy melodics in the breakdown will slay the floor. Finally, 'Lost Canvas' rounds out this triptych of techy beats, with a carnival groove from hell. Tough drums, a rubbery bassline and nuanced percussive layers grow this track into a deep, musical monster with moments of melodic goodness to soothe the soul.

    Ruben Karapetyan

    Beatport Staff Picks

Returning to Meanwhile for his second solo outing on the label, Ruben Karapetyan arrives with another twin-track offering of considerable quality as he presents "Midnight Current / Between the Lines". A seasoned performer with almost 30 years of experience in the underground dance arena, Ruben Karapetyan has been hailed as Armenia's top electronic music export. Continuing to cement his place at the forefront of the global Progressive House community with a distinctive sound and mature production technique, a double century of production credits has seen the Armenian continue to succeed at the highest level. As such, a plethora of original and remix production material has found its way onto the likes of Paul Thomas' UV, Nick Warren's The Soundgarden and an array of releases for the best-selling Mango Alley, with his own RKP imprint continuing to flourish contemporaneously as a vehicle for his own music and a select collection of elite artists. Having opened his Meanwhile account with "Erectheum", part of the "Meanwhile Excursions, Vol. 3" compilation in mid-2023, Ruben oversaw a full debut with "Nostalgic Moments / Perceptual Isolation" in the summer of 2025. Now returning for a second twin-track offering, "Midnight Current" is a driving, commanding track that quickly builds with saturated bassline groove and swung shakers and hats. A sumptuous melodic palette enters the fray with thickly textured pads and a birdsong-style effect, while an arpeggiated lead adds to the sonic collage at the mid-point, rising to a stirring crescendo before a perfect drop back into the smooth flowing groove of earlier movements. The result is a trademark and immaculately crafted affair. Between the lines is a similarly deep affair with huge bassline presence and a kick felt in the heart of the listener's chest. A subtle tribal vibe begins to emerge with vocal chanting, hollow synth sound and haunting pads, before Ruben's club know-how comes fully to the fore with an immaculate juxtaposition between dancefloor character and head-swaying melodic textures. Additional motifs come to the fore in the breakdown before elevating the track higher still in the second half in a spine-tingling combination of melodic dynamism and rhythmic fire. Charged with sonic electricity and perfect for sets beyond the witching hour, Ruben Karapetyan excels with "Midnight Current / Between the Lines". Directed by GMJ & Matter Mastered by Cid Inc. Gorge returns to Bar 25 Music with 'Deeper Love,' a focused, energetic two-track release from an artist with more than 30 years in the scene and a catalogue that includes multiple number one productions. Pit Waldmann, known as Gorge, has been shaping the underground since long before the hype cycles. As label owner of Katchuli Music and co-founder of 8bit Records alongside Nick Curly, he played a central role in building the Mannheim sound and pushing deep, groovy house music back to the foreground of electronic culture. His numerous releases on Freerange, Objectivity, Diynamic, Knee Deep in Sound, Global Underground (to name just a few) and his reputation as one of the scene's most in-demand remixers, reflect decades of commitment to craft over trend. 'Deeper Love' and 'Levitate' are the result of that same focus: two tracks engineered for intensity and clarity, balancing progressive drive, organic warmth and rhythmic groove. Functional on the dancefloor, personal in feel, and built to translate seamlessly into club sets and radio playlists alike. Music that works because it was made by someone who has always known the difference.

    Beatport Staff Picks

Following on from the success of the "Clubsonica Sampler" compilations, the label returns to the series first set up in early 2021. Now reaching a tenth installment, "Clubsonica Sampler, Vol. 10" continues an iconic and evergreen set of releases with five brand-new tracks from across Europe and South America. Opening proceedings, Marcos Fornari is a young Argentinean DJ and producer beginning to make his mark. With just a handful of releases to his name on The Purr and, most recently, on Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, "Echoes Inside" sees the Buenos Aires artist shine with a deep rhythmic gem that powers forward with a seismic sub-bass groove and cascading melodic phrasing. Evolving with ease over its 9-minute voyage, spine-tingling chord progressions and counterpoint motifs create a joyful and impressive debut. Miguel Cervantes has already presided over an impressive five-year career under his Mike Kohl pseudonym. Since a 2020 debut on Midnight Language, more than a century of releases have featured on the likes of Paul Hazendonk's Manual Music, Madloch's 3rd Avenue and Forty Cats' PURRFECTION. Now debuting on Clubsonica, "Moonlight" is propelled by a punchy kick and growling bassline groove. A smooth and reverb-laden lead adds subtle energy, and thickly textured pads, depth aplenty. Full of dancefloor know-how, Mike Kohl's production credentials are in full evidence as "Moonlight" builds to a powerful zenith in the third movement. Argentine duo, Sebastian Glazba and Nacjus are celebrated producers in their own rights. From Rosario and Colón respectively, the duo has been responsible for a string of solo hits on such esteemed imprints as AMITABHA, Droid9, AH Digital and Balkan Connection. Now coming together for only the second time after April 2026's "PRESAGE", Sebastian Glazba and Nacjus excel with "Freedom". A deep, pulsating affair, the track oozes modern Progressive House quality, building with revolving and hypnotic melodies sitting above waves of white-noise washes and percussive intent. A mesmerizing breakdown adds electricity before building into a dazzling second half that is chock-full of dancefloor intent and melodic intensity. Phillipe Lois is a proud Colombian artist with a deep love for electronic music. As both a DJ and producer, a clutch of releases since mid-2020 have found their way onto Musique de Lune, Worlds Apart and M.O.S.'s Melody of the Soul. Furthermore, February 2025's "Inner Dialogue" found its way onto "Clubsonica Sampler, Vol. 7". Joining with fellow Colombian, Nat Bieler, the Madrid-based artist has been a key figure in what she terms 'Pop gótico tropical' in honor of her native city, Cali, encompassing Latin rhythms and European music in a rich tapestry of sounds. As such, "Don't Mind" sees Phillipe and Nat create a powerful club-friendly energy that finds a driving progressive backdrop and rich melodic vibrancy form the foundation for a glorious vocal contribution from Nat to wave its way across the track in a sure-fire floor filler. Waxing and waning with ease, the vocals create an unparalleled dynamism that is sure to win affection from every quarter. The final offering sees Dutch duo QuiQui and Engelbert combine. Responsible for a triple century of credits dating back to late 2009, QuiQui has been a staple of leading imprints that include Traum, Tulipa, and Univack. Similarly, digital designer and animator Engelbert has also seen his music allied to esteemed labels that include Steyoyoke, 3RD Act and WAYU Records. Coming together on May 2025's "Goud EP" for Manual Music, QuiQui and Engelbert have created a bassline-fueled powerhouse via "Accelerating Returns". Redolent of Dutch Trance origins, the track exudes dancefloor quality with its searing glissando lead and rising melodic arpeggio. A stripped-back breakdown provides a moment for the lacerating motifs to breathe before the track picks up pace once more in the second half to dramatic and dynamic effect. Temperance follows as a perfect counterpart, complementing the first track with a deep, hypnotic mood, enriched by a haunting vocal that adds an extra layer of atmosphere and immersion. On remix duties, Sri Lankan artist Rockka delivers his reinterpretation of Hierofante, preserving the essence of the original while injecting his own distinctive groove, resulting in a version that is both authentic and irresistibly engaging.
