Greek superstar, Ziger returns to Sudbeat with three incredible tracks. From learning his craft at the turn of the century to being on the lips of the scenes elite, Ziger's sonic journey has been littered with high points. Signed to a mouth-watering number of labels including Plattenbank, ICONYC and JOOF shows the wide spectrum of his sound design and the appeal his music has to the scene itself. But don't take our word for it, check out the EP and discover the multi-colored world of Ziger for yourselves! Take 'Rumble' for example; rawkus and bass-driven, it thunders from the speakers with understated elegance. Pretty arps twinkle and leftfield FX trip out all heading towards the main break that magically ups the energy for the second half. A work of musical genius. Then there's 'Dot' which starts from a deep place but packs just the same punch. Building slowly with spoken vocals punctuating the groove, the main break here is hands in the air epic. And finally, 'Adapt' which playfully uses light and dark to paint its audio picture. Like a caged lion waiting for its moment to escape, the build up is tense but the pay off magnificent.
Clubsonica opens the month of May with a new collaborative project from Maze 28 and Rockka. Hailing from Albania, Mario Zefi aka Maze 28 has emerged as one of his country's most hotly tipped progressive house artists. In just three short years the Durres resident has earned support from genre tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, while his melodic creations have found a home on Juicebox Music, RKP and Mango Alley, the latter of which operates as his primary home. Clubsonica has also been a landing spot for the talented Albanian, with December of last year marking his label debut with a well-received remix of 'Azul Profundo' by Giovanny Aparicio. Meanwhile, hailing from Sri Lanka, Rockka aka Lakith Adikaram has been releasing his own unique style of progressive music for the better part of three years. First emerging on the strength of a 2021 offering via Mistique Music, a single recorded alongside fellow countryman VegaZ SL, Rockka was immediately touted as a new talent to watch. Although younger than most of his contemporaries, the Nugegoda resident impressed going forward, quickly landing projects with Balkan Connection, Droid9, Mango Alley and Yomo Records. Having previously collaborated on EP's for iNU and Mango Alley, Maze 28 and Rockka now add Clubsonica to their joint discography with 'Mirage | Solid', alongside remixes from Juan Ibanez and Mauro Aguirre. Maze 28 and Rockka continue to showcase their growing creative synergy on selection one 'Mirage'. Full of rejuvenating dancefloor energy, the cross-continental duo expertly blends robust kick drums and electric grooves with flashing percussion and crunchy effects. Deconstructed vocals and spiralling arps steal the air leading into the break, casting a darker monochrome over the journey, before an effects-laden build cues a rush of pyrotechnic synths and melodic alchemy. The companion piece 'Solid' continues the duo's main room assault but with greater atmospheric depth, all while maintaining the darker tone set by its predecessor. Complete with ultrasonic qualities, it's an energy rush for ages, one where Maze 28 and Rockka's creative attitude shines, as roller coasters of undulating basslines, metallic melodies and astral effects unite for an exhilarating peak-time journey. The lone interpretation of 'Mirage' is provided by Juan Ibanez who returns to the label for his third appearance. Hailing from Argentina, Juan Ibanez has been touted as one of his country's rising talents since first appearing in 2019. Support from world class DJ Hernan Cattaneo, along with releases for Freegrant Music, onedotsixtwo, Or Two Strangers and Nick Warren's The Soundgarden have etched Juan's place amongst progressive music's top talents. Also finding a home on Clubsonica, the La Rioja resident made his label debut in 2021 with 'Haumea', a track co-produced with American artist D.J. MacIntyre, before returning later that same year with a contribution to the inaugural edition of the Sampler Series. Now, following an appearance The Soundgarden's Winter Collection, Juan returns to Clubsonica with an inspired rendition of 'Mirage'. Bringing a progressive state of mind, Juan carefully balances the themes from the original with his own melodic groove-centric sound. Timely effects and commanding drums steal the air atop thunderous beats, rippling grooves and evolving atmospheres; while a trance-inspired break seals what is the ultimate dance floor bomb to complement an already huge original. The release concludes with Mauro Aguirre returning to the label for the lone interpretation of 'Solid'. As a fixture of Colombia's nightlife for the better part of three decades, the Cali resident has performed at the city's premiere venues, while also landing radio shows on La Super Estacion 100.5 and La X 96.5 FM. As a producer Mauro has been a frequent collaborator alongside fellow countryman and progressive music star Kamilo Sanclemente. The duo's creative synergy has seen them land releases on Nick Warren's Hope Recordings and Guy Mantzur's Plattenbank Records. Clubsonica however has been Mauro's primary home in recent years, with two originals and two remixes recorded over a four-year stretch. With a recent debut on Balance Music getting 2024 underway in fine fashion, Mauro now returns to Clubsonica for his first solo remix of the year, taking 'Solid' into his own world of melodic progressive house. Opting for a dubbier and more groove-centric approach, Mauro aims squarely at a peak-hour dancefloor here, with rolling rhythms and panning melodies creating a smooth yet energy inducing first act. Looking to bring greater emotional depth, poignant chord changes emerge across the main break, slowly rising against a backdrop of rich textural colour, before segueing into a hair-raising finale; one that's complete with muscular grooves and a fragmented take on the melody. A remix which is not only ideal for the astute connoisseur, but closes the release out as one of Mauro's most accomplished productions to date. We're back from our extended holiday period and we're proud to present our first release of 2024, this scintillating new EP from the Australian bushtechno weapon, Tom Baker. The B-Side, 'Weather Patterns' finds Mr. Baker venturing into dark, driving musical territories. With its broody and menacing character, this track acts as the perfect storm to turn a dancefloor inside out. The title track, 'My Mistake', was born from a serendipitous moment in the studio, a happy accident whilst messing around on the tools that have evolved into a sonic masterpiece that is simply extraordinary. The EP is accompanied by a banging psychedelic techno remix of Weather Patterns by Greenwolve and a smooth progressive take on 'My Mistake' by Human Element. Ultimately, this journey comes to its inevitable ending and is signed out by a bonus track - a 2024 edit of Tom's remix to 'Medusa' by South Punk, infused with newfound energy and vitality. Enjoy.

A duo with a strong connection to the Proton Music archives, LADS return to the label with another stunning EP. This time with the added talents of Stephan Pokorny, "A Million Faces" sees two original tracks combine with remixes from Mass Digital and Cream. Three original EPs dating back to the September 2017 "Miss Jean" debut, May 2018's "Hagel" and "Stoyote" in June 2020, confirmed the German / South African duo as one of underground dance's most exciting talents. Now returning, "A Million Faces" is a delicate melodic gem that sees a haunting male vocal line play a central role as it delicately sings a romantic verse at the mid-point. Either side, a rolling percussive groove builds supremely with subtle energy as a barely heard loop hints at the vocal to come. Organic instrumentation creates another motif that adds to the sonic collage as a swathe of new sounds, pitched effects and vocal reprise create a memorable and sparkling track. The partner track is once again characterised by a distinctive rolling groove comprised of organic percussion sounds. A stuttered, vocal cut propels "Liberia" to the front of the sonic stage as fizzing pads and a beautifully cadenced chord syncopates in smooth hypnotic fashion. Full of musical variation, "Liberia" waxes and wanes easily as the hypnotic backdrop and swathe of new motifs and effected elements create an innovative an original piece. With a motto that expounds "music speaks louder than words", Mass Digital is a name that has risen to prominence over a 15-year period and some 700 production credits to his name. From Pacha and Tiger Recordings to Hoomidaas and All Day I Dream, the Serbian artist has carved out a sizeable reputation with his distinctive and finely honed production work. Now making his Proton Music debut, the Mass Digital remix of "A Million Faces" is a tour deforce. Retaining the original's percussive groove and melodic character, an array of new production material is introduced that immaculately complements the work of LADS and Stephan Pokorny, not least through beautiful new piano chords and a strings-fuelled backdrop. Building in energy through its phases, the vocal so central to the original, cuts a recurring theme as piano and strings develop in magnificent fashion. The final remix sees the return of DJ and producer, Cream. A seasoned performer behinds the decks across his homeland, the Polish artist has spent a decade honing his production skills, at first in collaboration with Deep Fog and latterly in solo guise for the likes of Sprout, Juicebox Music and Strange Town Recordings. A regular on Particles since mid-2014, 2021's "Rubikon" on Proton Music was a notable highlight. Remixes for GMJ & Matter, Trilucid and Andrea Cassino are now followed by a typically energised reworking of "A Million Faces". Infused with a driving bassline pattern, new melodies appear courtesy of a gradually emerging arpeggio. Progressing with dancefloor energy, the ethereal vocal from the original makes an appearance at the mid-point before the fusion of vibrant bass groove, heavy beat and new melodic variations blossom into a progressive house gem. Presenting their music in dazzling new directions, Stephan Pokorny & LADS reveal "A Million Faces" with remixes from Mass Digital and Cream. First making their collaborative debut in April 2023, Matias Carafa and Jonatan Ramonda now reprise that pairing a year on with the "Morph" EP on Particles. Both accomplished DJs in their Rosario home in the central Argentinean province of Santa Fe, Matias Carafa's residency at the city's Shambala club quickly saw him rise to prominence alongside John Digweed and Dave Seaman. Similarly, a production career that has seen a double century of credits for the likes of Balkan Connection, Superordinate Music and 3rd Avenue, have lit up his portfolio. Jonatan Ramonda has also found himself a regular across the clubs of his hometown, while a century of releases on a plethora of high-profile imprints has seen his music feature on Mistique Music, Balkan Connection South America and The Purr. Now joining forces again after a debut on Endless with "Dhyana", "Morph" is a slow rhythmic burner that revels in a deep groove and clicking percussive top line. Full of contemplative melodic intensity, muted stabs sit alongside vibrato keys and sub-bassline. Building through the early phases, an open filtered breakdown sequence paves the way for a subtle urgency to build into the second half with smooth arpeggiated flow. Characterised by a chunky rhythmic foundation, "Drop" builds on the deep sonic flavour of its predecessor with a swathe of atmospheric effects and huge reverb tails. Delicate melodies ripple and float across the 7-minute piece as it swells to a rousing intensity at the mid-point crescendo. Dropping back into a hefty dancefloor beat in the second half, the repeated motifs develop their own rhythmic cadence. A legendary figure within the progressive community, Pole Folder has been a mainstay of the scene for over two decades. Making his name with a debut release and album on Bedrock Records, the Belgian artist has been a regular across his homeland where he was voted "Best DJ" in 2010 through his innovative sets. A regular across Proton Music since 2006 and Particles since 2012, a raft of production material has seen Pole Folder enthral with "Serengeti", "Mara" and "A Glimpse into the Past" whilst remixes for Ferdy, Michael A and Eric Lune & Domingo + have witnessed more production wizardry. Returning to Particles, the Pole Folder remix of "Morph" is a typically elegant affair, bristling with melodic brilliance and dancefloor prowess. Trademark original melodies, vie with those found in Matias' and Jonatan's original as a huge sustained bassline rumbles across the low-end to provide emotion and beauty aplenty. Making immaculate use of original components, the Belgian's skill is to construct a magical new interpretation full of dynamism and vitality. Superb original tracks from Matias Carafa & Jonatan Ramonda have also seen Pole Folder "Morph" their music in wondrous new directions. A rising Brazilian star with a growing portfolio of high-quality releases to his name, Tonaco makes his Meanwhile full EP debut with the 3-track "Disurbia / Avalon / Crackdown". Hailing from the central Brazilian state of Toncantins, famed for its cerrado, rivers and soybean plantations, Tonaco has planted his own roots within the underground dance scene with a growing list of releases to his name. From a 2019 debut on Transensations with "Vollus", a further quarter century of production credits have followed with work appearing on such leading labels as onedotsixtwo, Mango Alley and Moonlight. After first appearing on July 2022's "Meanwhile Excursions" compilation with "Sententrional", Tonaco now returns to Meanwhile with a first full solo EP. Opener "Disurbia" is a growling, rumbling affair that immediately revels in an unsettling atmosphere of effects and growing synth swells. Building easily within a sonic framework of hypnotic rhythmic energy, a smooth arpeggio brings a moment of light melodic touch at the breakdown before the huge low-end dynamism creates and a seething, head-shaking monster reminiscent of early 2000s progressive breaks. A high-energy backdrop fizzes across "Avalon" with its rapid-fire hi-hats and metronomic snare while a syncopated bassline adds groove aplenty. Entering its mid-section, an enticing and free-flowing middle eastern sounding melody lilts across the mid-range, full of mysticism and visions of desert landscapes. Hitting its stride once more in the third movement, a growling spoken vocal and driving rhythm create a mesmerising sequence towards the outro. The final track sees "Crackdown" continue the percussive narrative of earlier tracks as a hypnotising combination of tom fills and carefully placed melodic rhythms combine to create a soundscape full of vitality and brio. Building at the half-way stage with a wonderful bassline pattern, a light and airy melody then fills the sonic spectrum into a gloriously evocative breakdown of echoing keys and spatial effects, before dropping back into the smooth rolling groove of toms, hats and driving beat. Back on no. 12, Robert swings in full force with 3 cuts that travel from the known to the unknown, in typical Kelch fashion. While Hunt for Pluto see a characteristic powerful and musical approach, Firestorm diverts into more percussive, bouncy melanges of western and eastern acoustics, all finishing with the subtle and Eno-esque Scanner. Not one for keeping things in the same box, Kelch 12 further emphasises Robert's musicianship and range of diverse influences he surrounds himself with, together with his fans, on this new sonic journey.
As Meanwhile Horizons readies itself for an 18th impressive release, Matter and Eric Lune join forces for an Australian triple-tracker on "Starlight / Memory Burn / EyeAndYou". Both shining lights within the progressive fraternity, Melbourne-based Matter and Eric Lune are individually responsible for a plethora of high-profile releases on such leading imprints as Balance Music, Vapour Recordings and Proton Music. Now the co-founder of the Meanwhile brand joins forces with a label debutant as Meanwhile Horizons brings together Matter and Eric Lune for their collaborative debut. Replete with trademark progressive house tropes, "Starlight" opens proceedings with a typically smooth and luscious sonic landscape. A heavy beat and shimmering percussive backdrop combine with rippling arpeggio to pave the way for a lead motif that takes centre stage. Full of warm feelgood overtones, subtle vocal textures build as layers of new melody and pitched synth effects create an elegant and blissful wall of sound. "Memory Burn" offers a slightly faster-paced touch with its kick / snare combination and triplet hi-hat shuffle. A muted arpeggio soon enters the fray as its open filter cadence sits perfectly within the rhythmic backdrop. Adding dancefloor flavour, a smooth bassline sequence creates a stunning emotive atmosphere while a floating synth lead hits its zenith at the mid-point before dropping away to deliver a stunning new grooved bassline. Combining effortlessly in the second half, rhythm, melody and bass sizzle and sparkle in majestic fashion. The final track finds a chunky rhythmic framework laying the foundation for a huge bassline groove to propel "EyeAndYou" into Ibiza dancefloor territory. Syncopated synth riffs sparkle while vocal flourishes and glassy keys create counterpoint melody aplenty as they pan across the stereo spectrum. The result is a delicate and effortless affair that resonates with a Way Out West / Jody Wisternoff air. An artist with a long and varied career, dating back over a decade, Luis León continues to chart a path of innovation with his 'diverse musical landscapes'. Returning to Proton Music, after a year's absence, he returns in a collaboration with Unseener to present, "Concorde". Peruvian born but ensconced in his current Barcelona home, Luis León is a notable producer and co-founder of the Blankhaus label. Able to point to a portfolio of appearances on over a century of releases, the Spanish-based artist initially found success with a series of high-profile bootleg remixes. Going on to release original and remix production material on the likes of Manjumasi, Nie Wieder Schlafen and Chapter 24 Records, a Proton Music debut in January 2023 saw a remix of Erdi Irmak. Returning to the label, Luis León now teams up with Unseener after their collaborative work saw success on Blankhaus, as the duo debut with "Concorde". Opening with a shimmering synth backdrop, an intricate rhythmic framework quickly makes its mark as a breakbeat pattern fills the soundstage with a head-shaking groove and meticulous percussive patterns. A haunting female vocal elevates the track further as it melts enticingly across the exquisitely timed piece. The beautiful combination of vocal and melody, combined with dynamic rhythm, thus creates a truly memorable offering. The legendary figure of Petar Dundov has been a regular contributor to the Proton Music catalogue since a June 2019 debut remixing Simos Tagias. Since then, December 2020's "Salvation" and October 2021's "Spark" has seen stellar original releases from the Croatian star. Returning to the label for the first time since a remix of Desaturate in early 2022, the Petar Dundov remix is yet another masterpiece of melodic prowess as a high-energy reworking makes virtue of the breakbeat foundation, turning it into a powerful setting for elegant piano and sumptuous melodies from the original to make their presence felt. A huge, sustained bassline adds gravitas against the light vocal flourishes before a trademark arpeggio blossoms post- breakdown in another stunning interpretation from the Petar Dundov studio. Another long-time friend of Proton family, Juan Deminicis is Argentinean progressive royalty. An artist of innumerable talents, the Buenos Aires based artist is responsible for almost a half-century of production credits across its two labels. 30 of those can be found on Proton Music where "Behind the Sun", "Synchronicity", "Water" and "Cycles" have lit up the label with an array of original material. Remixes for the likes of Michael A, Mark Slee and Savvas have shown another side to the Juan Deminicis production character as his reworking of "Concorde" showcases yet another elegantly sculpted offering. Using a 4/4 beat and a rapid-fire hi-hat/shaker combination, melodic lines from the original filter into range as a new rippling arpeggio adds so the sonic melange. A spine-tingling new bassline sequence and repeated motif continue to maintain urgency and dynamism while the vocals from the original scud easily across the 8-minute piece featuring prominently at the beatless breakdown. Hitting is stride once more in the second half an additional piano phrase supplies another majestic moment. Flying high into rarefied atmosphere, Luis León & Unseener have hit new heights with "Concorde", additionally supported by Petar Dundov and Juan Deminicis. Directed by Jay Epoch Mastered by Cid Inc. Cid Inc's Replug Records opens their 2024 season by welcoming Dmitry Molosh back to the label for a new EP. Based in Belarus, Dmitry Molosh has been at the cutting edge of electronic music for the better part of a decade. Comparable to the path of his contemporaries, Dmitry has found a way to successfully marry classic and contemporary progressive house, resulting in an aesthetic that is not only club-effective but also dramatic and emotive. With a place firmly etched in the trend-driven state of underground dance music, Dmitry now sits on a modern progressive perch all his own, with an authentic sound that continues to find favour with Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Guy J and Replug label boss Cid Inc. 2022 proved to be an impactful year for Dmitry, with the formation of his Proportion imprint, a label which now serves as his primary home, while also keeping top tier outlets such as Proton and Sudbeat at the forefront of his discography. Dmitry's creative partnership with Replug has also been one that is not only long-running, but has yielded a litany of successes across six projects since his 2016 debut 'Boa'. Now, fresh off his latest vehicle entitled 'Station' for Proton Music to begin the year, Dmitry makes a welcome return to Replug with 'Modul'. The EP's title selection 'Modul' sets the pace and lands with many of the production hallmarks for which Dmitry has become so beloved. Muscular kick drums and jet force propulsions provide a DJ friendly intro, as the bassline drops for a rush of pneumatic energy. Stepping decisively on the gas, it's a free-flowing exchange of emotive chord changes and clustered synth mutations which provide an enduring main theme, while a wonderfully warped break is sure to cast a paranoid spell over the dancefloor. Siren-like wails highlight a thunderous drop, setting the course for a finale which cruises effortlessly, all while maintaining a sense of urgency and spontaneity that astute progressive house fans will appreciate. Rounding out the release are the hypnotic qualities of 'Sail', a track where Dmitry balances the loud-soft dynamics which seem to work so well on the dancefloor. Superficially, it might come across as a classic chunk of Molosh bombast, but it exists in a different sonic world, as multiple layers of rebounding rhythms, stirring chord changes and arpeggiated sequences get woven around a core of beefy grooves and cleverly coaxed atmospheric swells. The break's beginnings hold that strong cadence, eventually melting down to a shapeshifting narrative, one where hyperbolic arps deliver a finale that is both wonderfully warped and incredibly groovy. A fitting conclusion to what is another unique look into Dmitry's repertoire, and the infectious progressive sound he has built his career on.
Next up we welcome more new talent for the first time on Pro B Tech Music, AND/OR, This due is made up of Julius Aitken & Rob Parton and we have Iain Vale on remix duties. What we have is a four-tracked EP 3 x Originals and the Ian Vale remix, Things kick off with Look Up and it is a beauty, this feels like an Underworld track as it comes in, you get an atmospheric sweeping pad from the off which quickly ramps with the introduction of the kick, the track has so many levels/elements through it making hugely interesting and lively, absolutely love this its a 4/4 dance floor destroyer (In our humble opinion) Next, we have the Ian Vale remix of Look Up, Ian creates a deeper, stripped-back version but still with a solid kick and bassline, and you can pick up the original elements throughout, a great job here from Ian keeping things different whilst always nodding to the original Next, we have another of two more originals from AND/OR, Take One, this one is an acidic, breaks-laden piece of perfection, we love our breaks at Pro B, and this is another gem, again beautiful pads/melody accompanying the breaks throughout, very big this, Last up is Variants, As the title suggested this feels like a variant of all of the above, it is a little deeper and as it progresses through you get an almost minimal techno/acid line before the kick comes back that will have your head down and feet moving, a quality way to finish off this EP, really is something for everyone here, Hope you enjoy Thanks as always Brent PBTM
Hitting repeated heights with his "Parallel Words" EP series in August 2020 and April 2021, in addition to work for the likes of Anjunadeep, Replug and Monstercat, Nōpi now returns to Proton Music with another original offering. Showcasing his twin-track "Galactic / Overload" EP, the Ukrainian producer excels once more as the pounding beat and soft, shuffling shakers of "Galactic" bristle with a deep, elemental energy. Gently modulating synth lines merge with softly pulsating white-noise washes before a central motif makes its presence felt. Filtering easily, it is complemented by a swathe of effect and soundscapes while luscious pads add layers of listener interest. The result is an aptly named opener. "Overload" continues the chunky rhythmic poise of its partner track while an uptempo percussive energy and driving bassline groove create a dance-friendly character. Full of cadenced stabs that create a house vibe along with spoken vocal cuts, the track hits a powerful zenith in the latter stages before a new arpeggio is brought to the sonic collage in impressive work from the Nōpi studio. A Particles regular since late 2009, Vinayak A has been at the forefront of dance music for over two decades. An esteemed figure within the underground dance fraternity, his work for Bedrock, Buddha Bar and Subtract, plus performances at festivals including Magnetic Fields, VH1 and Echoes of Earth have placed him as one of India's most successful dance artists and sound designers. After a recent Particles remix for Wolfframm in February 2024, Vinayak A now debuts on Proton Music with a typically innovative and carefully sculpted reworking of "Galactic". Steeped in trademark organic soundscapes, familiar elements from Nōpi's original are immaculately blended with instruments and phrasing from Vinayak's native India as a majestic piano chord and new bassline sequence sit perfectly amongst the original components to create a mesmeric new interpretation. Recently joining the Proton roster with his "The Wind People" EP, Luke Mandala has a strong track record for a commitment to dance music that extends to mixing live wind instruments and drumming into his production work. A regular DJ across his northwest US home, Luke's work for Dreaming Awake, Digital Structures and Uniting Souls Music has seen him become a sought-after figure. Reworking "Overload", a delicate rhythmic opening, knocking woodpecker clave and atmospheric wind instrumentation, paves the way for a dark bassline groove to make its presences felt in the early stages. Waxing and waning with filtered and glissando intensity, familiar phrases from the original create a rich sonic landscape before the huge bassline dominance makes a play at the stunning breakdown before blending itself once more with the cast of melodic characters and spatial effects. World dominance has come easily to Nōpi through his "Galactic / Overload" EP with further authority coming from Vinayak A and Luke Mandala. Directed by Jay Epoch Mastered by Cid Inc. Clubsonica Records opens the spring season with a collaborative single from Golan Zocher and Juan Pablo Torrez. Born in Colombia but now calling Israel home, Golan Zocher has firmly etched his place in progressive house lore. Following a 2016 debut, the Tel Aviv resident quickly found his place amongst the genre's elite, earning play and support from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Guy J and Guy Mantzur. Releases via Mango Alley, Or Two Strangers, Plattenbank and Proton highlight what has been an eight-year creative swell for this elusive talent. Clubsonica has also been a regular landing spot for Golan, with four originals and two remixes recorded since making his label debut in 2017. Meanwhile, Colombian artist and Clubsonica label boss Juan Pablo Torrez has also compiled an impressive resume since first emerging in 2007. Mango Alley, Plattenbank, The Soundgarden, UV and more have served as landing spots for his progressive creations, while world class DJs Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren have been steadfast supporters along the way. Also highly regarded as a DJ, Juan remains one of Colombia's premiere talents, sharing the stage with Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Sasha, Matador, and more. Although both Golan and Juan have built a good portion of their discographies on successful collaborations, the duo have yet to work together. It seems only appropriate that Clubsonica be the home for the duo's first ever joint production entitled 'Cosmic Resonance', alongside a remix from Mike Griego. Golan and Juan explore emotive progressive house sensibilities on their first joint production 'Cosmic Resonance'. Sleek and energetic throughout, it's a framework of punchy kick drums and undulating basslines which lay the foundation for rolling percussion and emerging atmospheres to unite, in turn creating a strong sense of flow. Hypnotizing arps and tension-inducing overlays take centrestage across the first act, with haunting atmospheres fully initializing the main break. Cosmic and emotive in equal measure, the interlude further solidifies the duo's dancefloor vision, melting down to a quiet calm where ghostly vocals and cinematic swells cleverly-coax, before the groove re-engages for a poignant finale of heartfelt chord changes and a haze of processed vocals. The release concludes with Mike Griego making his label debut with the lone interpretation of 'Cosmic Resonance'. Based in Buenos Aires, the Argentinean DJ and producer has carved out a unique place in the electronic underground. His exacting design, addictive grooves and avant-garde melodies have made for a transcendent sound that continues to unify dancefloors around the world. With a career that now approaches fifteen years and one hundred discography credits, Mike would have to be considered one of progressive music's elite artists, earning the praise of genre trendsetters Hernan Cattaneo, Lee Burridge and Nick Warren, among others. A meticulous discography reflects his choosy nature; with Replug, Sudbeat and Tale & Tone serving as the primary landing spots for his musical output. 2023 proved to be an impactful year for Mike, furthering his successes with the launch of his 'A Line In The Sand' imprint, a label which now not only serves as his primary home, but also offered up two of progressive music's most memorable releases of the year in 'Antidote' and 'Perfume'. Now following a single for Afterglow to begin the year, Mike makes an impressive debut on Clubsonica with a stellar rendition of 'Cosmic Resonance'. Opting for a dubbier, more groove-centric approach, Mike aims squarely at a deeper dancefloor, taking the track into cruising territory. Complete with tight kick drums and chunky basslines, it's a storyboard of intricate percussive layers, orbiting effects and gentle atmospheric progressions which make for an alluring hypnotism leading into the break. Here, Mike leans towards the emotional sensibility of the original, reworking the primary theme in elusive fashion, in turn creating an air of anticipation, before carefully building tension towards a finale that is equal parts emotive, mature and club-effective. First appearing on Meanwhile in mid-2023 with a 3-track extravaganza of epic proportions, Tantum now returns to the label with another musical triptych in the shape of "Contact High / This is Real / Scatter". A production career that began with a high-profile debut on EIN2, German producer, Tantum, has made a name for himself blurring the boundaries between progressive house and melodic techno. Subsequent releases for Juicebox Music, Mango Alley and Guy J's Lost & Found have put Tantum firmly on the underground dance map. May 2023's "Secondary / Suan Pan / Narko" was a notable highlight on GMJ & Matter's imprint, while a remix of the duo's "Time to Space" a few months later showcased another side to his production credentials. Opening the EP, "Contact High" is a chunky rhythmic jewel that glistens with iridescent light as reversed melodies and rippling arpeggio build powerfully against a driving dancefloor beat and body-swaying percussive groove. Hypnotic and vibrant, a rasping bassline and pitched oscillator motif create a mesmerising intensity that builds through the breakdown before dropping back into the club-ready groove in the second half. The aptly titled "Scatter" impresses with its angular beats and liberally placed fragmented effects. Muted arpeggios and mid-range motifs infuse the middle sections as a searing glissando lead line rises and falls with analogue-filtered intensity. The combination of melody at the breakdown then heralds the arrival of the dominant kick to regain rhythmic vitality in the third movement. The final track sees "This is Real" delight with hits wood-block percussive cadence and syncopated bass sequence. Revelling in an array of complementary synth lines, pitched oscillators create an easy free-flowing character that is both innovative and dynamic. Weaving gently throughout in coruscating patterns, it builds intensity as the rhythmic gravitas hits its heights post-breakdown to inspiring and striking effect. The Munich-based label Plattenbank has made a safe bet when releasing this debut three- track release. E A N P is a Buenos Aires duo comprising Ezequiel Anile and Nicolas Petracca. The three-track material bursts in moments where the abstract atmosphere and repetitive drum patterns come across as trance-inducing as hypnotherapy. The opening track, Parallel Rabbit,' seamlessly blends light-heartedness with powerful emotions, defying genre boundaries. The duo, joined by Argentine colleague Tinga, collaboratively crafted this compelling sonic collage with nuanced emotions. Ezequiel and Nicolas reach the pinnacle of their abstract storytelling with Drome, offering a glimpse into the genre's future just before Primal concludes the 23-minute material. With pieces created from an individual aspect, with a wide range of influences, the music comes across as hypnotic yet energetic and uncompromising. However, the material leaves enough space to ask for more E A N P. Hopefully soon!
To celebrate 20 years as D-Nox & Beckers, Sprout are proud to release the first of a series of EPs from the famed duo. German dance music royalty, the pair have spent much of their lives exploring their shared love of electronic grooves and soaring melody. As already successful solo artists in the '90s, the pair met in clubland and decided to team up, launching what has become one of the most enduring and globally recognised duos in dance music. Signed to everyone who matters, they have an undeniable talent for massive grooves and earworm harmonics that have slayed dancefloors around the world! This EP sees them updating a stone cold classic from their extensive back catalogue and introducing brand new music.. First up, 'Astral' starts deep and housey. Rhodsey stabs immediately add an organic groove before the low end grunt of kick and bass do their magic. Building tension through layers of percussion, the track thunders forward like an out of control train heading for nirvana. Reaching your destination is a given (of course) and this the best way to travel! Next up, a Beckers 2005 funkathon, 'Fake'. At a time when minimal techno and electro house were starting to define clubland, Beckers infectious grooves were like manna from heaven. For the 2024 update the bass takes on a more analogue feel loosing none of the funk of the original. The vocal is more prominent adding to the overall vibe; really amping up the energy. This is going to be huge this summer!
Continuing to add new talent to their roster, Tash's Movement Recordings welcomes Maze 28 and TEELCO to the label for their debut EP. Hailing from Albania, Mario Zefi aka Maze 28 has emerged as one of his country's most hotly tipped progressive house artists. In just three short years the Durres resident has earned support from genre tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, while his melodic creations have found a home on Clubsonica, iNU, Juicebox Music, RKP and Mango Alley, the latter of which operates as his primary home. Meanwhile, fellow countryman TEELCO has been a fixture of the progressive house underground for the better part of a decade. Noted for his deep melodic sound, the Tirana resident first emerged on the strength of tracks for Balkan Connection's BC2 and Soundteller Records, making him a name to watch going forward. The next decade would see TEELCO further hone his craft and notch standout releases for Deep Down Music, Mango Alley, RKP and Univack, while earning the praise of genre tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Mariano Mellino. Having been paired previously for Mango Alley, Maze 28 and TEELCO now combine their extensive forces once again, with their much anticipated Movement Recordings debut 'Sense'. Maze 28 and TEELCO showcase their ever growing creative synergy on the lead selection 'Sense'. Aimed squarely at the dancefloor, its rhythmic energies and catchy synths are immediately infectious, perfectly anchored by a warm key changing groove for maximum emotional response. The break furthers the track's evolution with a spacious approach, letting the lead breathe against a backdrop of warm textural drifts and poignant bass swells, before an intense build sparks a huge finale to send people home with a smile. 'Seekers' continues the EP's peaktime appeal with a similarly energetic approach. Here, Maze 28 and TEELCO add a great sense of space with electric lines taking centre stage atop charged beats and full rolling basslines. Nostalgic in nature and mood, its supreme flow not only makes for a perfect mid-set style track but also furthers the emotive lean of the release. The release concludes with the lush sounds of 'Kintsugi'. With a backbone of tough kick drums and chunky rhythms, comes an air of shapeshifting atmospheres and subtle but heartfelt melodies, resulting in the ultimate goosebump worthy vibe. Staying true to its title, the main break delights with a backbone of breakbeat percussion setting the stage for an oriental-themed melody to round out the EP on a feel good note.
Hyunji-A makes her debut on the label with a strong EP. Montreal-based Hyunji Lee marries her love of electronic sounds with a classical piano background focusing on melodic and form. Breaking on to the scene in 2020 her deck skills have seen her growing her gigs portfolio, recently supporting Sasha in Toronto, while her studio skills are winning her plaudits across the scene with releases on 3rd Avenue, onedotsixtwo and Mango Alley. Opening with 'Speck of Dust' a deep, workman-like groover, we are quickly into Hyunji's world of soulful understatement. Icy pads ebb and flow with the skippy percussion building tension over the opening section. Then, a whiff of melody sparks the track into life before descending back into the groove. Masterful. Next up, 'Softly' is presented in club format and as a tastefully deep dub. Tribal and melodic, the club mix uses all her skills to create a vocal-based vibe that tantalises and hypnotises. Keeping it sparse and musical, the dub focuses on the strong narrative of the club.
The Argentinian artists EICHENBAUM & ANDRÉS MORIS, join forces and skills for the first time to make this three-original-EP. The style of these DJ & Producers is a very emotional, melodic, and bright Progressive House, with solid grooves and basslines, epic breakdowns, and with a great develop and progression that usually turns to new landscapes during the track. The EP is completed with a remix by the talented and versatile Argentinian artist RIC NIELS, who this time shows a different face of his music, with more groove, deeper, more fun and minimalist, but also with some melodic elements with taste of Progressive House. A pair of remixes for Particles in December 2022 and February 2023 showcased Wolfframm's talents with sparkling interpretations of OHMZ and Juan Deminicis as he now returns to the label with his debut original EP. "Lucid" is an atmospheric gem that combines a heavy rolling beat with a tight percussive hi-hat backdrop. A stellar array of melodic effects, piano phrases and light motifs punctuate the rhythmic foundation before a deep penetrating bassline adds to the club-friendly character powering its way forward with low-end gravitas and deep intensity. Heading towards the breakdown, a stereo-panned LFO'd synth effect makes its play, before dropping into a full-force third movement where the complete cast of characters combine to devastating effect and melodic sensitivity. "Before You Go" is another bassline-driven gem that creates a smooth melodic backdrop from the bass sequence that is then mirrored through the other synth phrasing. With more than a touch of class, another beautiful piano sequence brings coherence to the EP narrative, as it finds its focus at the mid-point before the second half blossoms into life. A powerful driving beat, analogue bass groove and shaker-fuelled top line create a stunning piece of work in a pair of original tracks to define the Wolfframm sound. Darling of the progressive house scene and long-time friend of Proton, the award-winning, Jamie Stevens, continues his impressive range of remixes on Proton Music for Petar Dundov, James Monro and Hrag Mikkel, with another genre-defining remix for Particles. With trademark aplomb and meticulous attention to detail, the scattered and panned LFO sequences from "Lucid" create dizzying aural patterns while new melodies generate a new direction full of atmosphere. As hypnotic as it is technically proficient, the Australian icon's skill is to create a unique dancefloor cadence that builds through its phases, ably complemented by whip-cracking kick, rolling low-end groove and fizzing hi-hat top line. The result is another Jamie Stevens masterclass. Ireland born but Australian-based, amháin, is an artist with a rapidly growing reputation and production portfolio. Making his mark with remixes for Erdi Irmak and Michael A on Proton Music and April 2023's "Evaporate" EP on Particles, amháin now follows up with a progressive breaks-inspired reworking of "Lucid". The aptly titled "Broken Reality Remix" is a tour de force that cleverly plays on the powerful bassline found in Wolfframm's track by creating a groove that extends into a rumbling and sustained sequence over the 7-minute piece. Simultaneously, sounds from the original are liberally spread over the amháin remix as it retains the essence of the original but taken in a low-slung new direction courtesy of the inspired breakbeat backdrop and myriad additional production work. A 15th release sees Eric Lune & Juan Sapia make their Proportion debut with a twin-track offering. Combining on Dmitry Molosh's highly regarded imprint, the duo announce their "Deliverance / Tension Release" EP. Both seasoned operators in the world of DJ performance and studio production, Eric Lune and Juan Sapia have amassed a sizeable collection of air miles and label releases in their rise to the upper echelons of the underground dance industry. Responsible for over 150 credits and a century of releases, the Eric Lune has found himself at home on some of the finest imprints including Sound Avenue, Plattenbank and a January 2024 release on the ever-impressive Balance Music. Similarly, Juan Sapia can point to a growing and illustrious portfolio that has seen a double century of credits feature on a host of blue-chip labels since a Balkan Connection debut in late 2017. Work for Clubsonica Records, Mango Alley and Paul Thomas' UV, has subsequently propelled the Argentinean star to new heights. The opener finds Eric Lune & Juan Sapia deliver a rhythm-fuelled powerhouse through "Deliverance". A chest-thumping kick and shaker-driven percussive section immediately create dancefloor urgency while dreamy pads and an hypnotic motif create melodic intrigue. Evolving with wonderfully syncopated synth phrasing, the dancefloor feel continues across the track's phases as it explodes into life at 3 minutes with a drop that brings in an uplifting new synth phrase and evolves through the breakdown. Hitting its rhythmic mark once more in the third movement, the combination of filtered phrasing adds even greater dynamism. Continuing the groove-inspired foundation courtesy of a lavish rhythm section, "Tension Release" is another dancefloor destroyer. Quickly hitting its heights courtesy of and acid-tinged lead line that meanders its way across the near 8-minute piece, a breathless, mesmeric energy is transmitted through Eric Lune & Juan Sapia's work. Rarely letting go of its dynamic vibrancy save for a well-placed breakdown crescendo of melodic beauty, the track drops back into its 303-inspired verve and rhythmic urgency in the latter stages. A pair of new tracks from the combined talents across the Southern Hemisphere sees Eric Lune & Juan Sapia make a powerful statement with "Deliverance / Tension Release".
An artist who first came to prominence at the start of the decade, Covsky now returns to Meanwhile Horizons with the twin-track, "Zero Sum Game / Colour Theory" EP. Hailing from the cosmopolitan city of Sydney, Sam Cooke has excelled within the progressive and organic house genres with his work for Sound Avenue, MNL and Musique de Lune. Hitting Beatport's Organic House & Downtempo coveted number 1 spot with his 3-track "Space Walk" EP in September 2022, the rising Australian producer returns to Meanwhile Horizons, this time with a pair of progressive gems. "Zero Sum Game" immediately supplies a head-shaking groove with an immaculately cadenced hi-hat top line and beautifully sculpted bassline groove. Subtle melodic sequences effortlessly filter into sonic range as they delicately entwine, sitting perfectly within the rhythmic and bass arrangement. Evolving toward the mid-point, copious amounts of reverb and delay create a rising tension before an open filter releases back down into the superb groove of earlier phases. Partner track, "Colour Theory" continues the dynamic groove narrative with its complex percussive arrangement and dancefloor prowess. Evolving easily with its ever-increasing number of layered sounds, a delicate melodic flow is introduced courtesy of a buzzing sharp-edged synth line and glassy lead motif. Exquisitely conjuring synaesthesia in the listener's mind eye through the breakdown, the introduction of pulsating crystalline pads in the latter stages adds further to the sonic collage. A new aural diptych painted from a vivid palette sees Covsky provide another musical masterclass with his "Zero Sum Game / Colour Theory" EP. Directed by GMJ & Matter Mastered by Cid Inc. Just Her is back on Selador and it's another mightily impressive, multifaceted show of skills from an artist at the top of her game. As with much of her more recent output, 'Left Behind' once again finds Claire on vocal as well as production duties, her unmistakable tone and delivery at its most honest and emotive. "It was written from quite a dark place," Claire explains, "But also to serve as a reminder that there is always hope, even in the bleakest of times." The original mix, written without any thought or consideration for the dance floor, is rooted in broken breakbeats, gently simmering synths and melancholic strings, one for those contemplative moments. A work of timeless beauty. But of course, with Selador being Selador, we couldn't let the opportunity of a club mix pass us by.. "When Dave & Steve first heard it, they loved the vocal and felt it was crying out for a club version, so I decided to try a different path", Claire elaborates "And I'm so glad I did because it's a very special song to me which makes me super happy it gets to have a life on the dance floor too!" Team Selador - Dancefloor lifers!
Bio: Danny Bonnici and Luke Chable are very familiar with each other's studios. In 2003, they collaborated to produce the ebullient classic 'Ride, ' arguably the standout release in underground dance that year. Almost a decade passed before they rekindled their partnership, resulting in 'Colours, ' a delightful 2012 release that wears its whimsical heart on its charming sleeve. Fast forward to 2024, and Balance is proud to re release this gem with a fresh round of remixes, featuring Dutch star Alex O'Rion and a breakbeat re rub by Danny Bonnici. If 'Ride' epitomized care free mid 00's prog, 'Colours' is imbued with the spirit of 2012. It's a radiant drive atop a sunlit melody and kaleidoscopic tones that will embed itself deep into your psyche. Drawing inspiration from the more vogue ish releases of that year, the brilliance of 'Colours' lies in its light hearted clarity: a stonking drum section and a melodic motif that lingers in you like a pleasant memory. Today, 'Colours' feels as nostalgic as it's vital; a love letter to a time we never knew would pass us by, or at worst, an invocation of a pre Covid era that seems a million miles away. Danny Bonnici revisits his breakbeat roots with a delightful re rub, paying homage to an era when progressive breaks reigned king. Skittering snares and shuffling hats play off each other; the percussion contrasting sharply against the consistently moving bellow of the Hoover like bass. Keeping the original melody front centre, it eventually explodes post breakdown into a dizzying arpeggiated variation. If you want to know why Danny Bonnici is considered a breakbeat don, look no further. Dutchman Alex O'Rion extends his streak of platinum productions with a refined update. By using warmer tones to soften the edges, the energy is burnished with more tranquil textures. The melody is framed by warm risers and smart fx that engage in playful interaction, whilst a casual bass line dances in complete flow with the melody. All the parts add up to a joyous progressive union a beautiful organic dance that never feels contrived.
Maestro of the dark arts (and light ones too!) Robert Babicz returns with a marriage set to dub beats, progressive affairs and the obligatory techno debauchery with Kelch 11. Set in dreamlike state, Black Moon's airy chords and melancholic feel complement Dubnosis with it's blissful Rhodes piano and a whole lot of Babiczstyle special sauce, perfect for deep introspective sessions but also equally at home in the early hours of club-land, set against the grit and power of Galactic, a rolling cosmic Asimovian dystopia.
A seasoned pairing, EANP have been powerful proponents of the Progressive House scene for a decade and nearly 200 production credits. Now making their Meanwhile debut, "The Other Side / Uncut Gems / Atoms" showcases a triumphant partnership. Combining the talents of Ezequiel Anile and Nicolas Petracca, the Argentinean duo have been working together since 2014. Both respected DJs and producers in their own rights, they have performed behind the decks throughout their homeland alongside the likes of Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, and Nick Muir. Similarly, a sparkling portfolio has seen a plethora of original and remix material feature on the likes of Mango Alley, Juicebox Music, Reminiscence Recordings and Replug. Joining forces with fellow countryman and legendary figure of Juan Deminicis on the opener, "The Other Side" is a chunky driving number that revels in a gently shifting percussive groove that forms a strong backbone for a series of cadenced melodic components to sit atop with majestic ease. Building a more intense head-shaking groove with every movement, effected vocal phrases add to the intensity while languid and unhurried pads add subtle juxtaposition to the dynamic dancefloor structures. The result is a stunning progressive treasure that is certain to find favour with the DJ elite. Striding out on their own EANP continue the fizzing percussive urgency via "Uncut Gems" as shakers and closed hi-hats swing across the near 9-minute piece with club-friendly energy. A seismic sub-bass groove adds to the forceful character while Tech House characteristics shine through with angular effects and well-placed synth stab. A smooth arpeggiated sequence comes to the fore at the mid-point alongside a new melodic character as it extends into the third movement to create a hard-edged modern Progressive House jewel. The final track finds "Atoms" creating a dominant rhythmic framework that subtly comes to life through use of a muted synth motif in perfectly metrical syncopation. A deep sub-bassline adds to the story as the track builds through its phases with swirling white-noise washes and whistling wind-effects adding atmosphere and a haunting quality. Dropping back into the devastating hypnotic groove in the second half, "Atoms" is full of atomic authority. Taking the modern progressive house scene to new heights with its deep and tech influences, EANP have illustrated that the grass is greener on "The Other Side" with "Uncut Gems" and "Atoms" combining to make an impressive triptych. Strange Malcolm returns to Prognosis with a stunning track entitled More Than Us. He first sent it to us as a 'I've just done this tune, what do you think?' kind of thing. Well we signed it that very second. Warm, throbbing bass, uplifting arps, haunting vocals, a killer groove and a track length that really lets the track grow. One listen and this will be stuck in your head. Well there was no way we weren't remixing this, so as Last 2 Standing we've added some extra melodic's and a cheeky acid line to compliment the original. Matt Black, who is fast becoming Mr Remix for Prognosis, has taken things deeper with his version. Stunning stuff.
