That was quite a wild story back then. Do you remember how we converted our Meeronauten cutter into an icebreaker with DARE? We headed up north until we could see the northern lights in the evening. The sky became a magnificent light show and the snow crystals danced in the wind. When we finally docked, the vast landscape of the tundra spread out mysteriously before us. Quaint sounds and ethereal voices wrapped us with warmth. Like the drums of Siberian shamans, powerful percussion instruments and bearlike beats unveiled to us a path that only finds its true expression through dance. Where was this place? AmuAmu and Xia Ke joined us with a smile, but instead of answering the question, they turned the soundscapes again and again into new formations that swayed back and forth in our minds like the grass of the steppe in front of the speakers. Basses like mammoths burrowed untamed through the permafrost and the overtone singing of sagacious spirits lingered mystically in the air like mist. Is that really how it was, you ask? Were not quite sure. But in the end, the only limit is our imagination! Or the fact that you still havent pressed play... So come on! What are you waiting for?

99% Stories EP
Roberto Intrallazzi and Dario Piana, two unheralded sons of Italys original Afro-cosmic movement of the 1980s, have joined forces in the studio for the first time. The result is the 99\%\% Stories EP, a collaborative debut for Leng inspired by the formative years of the duos near 45-year friendship and their shared musical roots. The duo both started DJing in and around Milan in 1981, drawing inspiration from pioneering contemporary Daniele Baldelli. Intrallazzi found international success following the birth of Italys distinctive house scene, collaborating with other like-minded producers as part of FPI Project and Cube Guys, while Piana continues to be a prolific solo artist whilst also working extensively with mentor and friend Baldelli. The EP begins with Out Of Control, a dubbed-out cosmic disco chugger with guitar snippets, spoken word samples and sonic textures over a percussive beat and low-slung bass guitar line. Fellow long-serving Italian LTJ Xperience drops a remix that highlights the acid-flecked electronic sounds, rubbery bass and hypnotic beats in his trademark style. Intrallazzi and Piana explore the middle ground between psychedelic, pitched down acid and cosmic-disco on Lazise, offering up a blend of percussion-enhanced beats, undulating 303 motifs and intergalactic electronics, before once more reaching for the bass guitar to drive the vibraphone, bleeps, keys and vocal enhanced midtempo shuffle of Saocraffen. The digital version of the EP has bonus cut: SP-15. Named in honour of the Technics turntables used by Daniele Baldelli at the iconic Cosmic Club – where he first showcased his hybrid and decidedly psychedelic Afro-Cosmic DJ style – the track is murky, immersive, trippy and picturesque in equal measure, with waves of glistening synth sounds and musical flourishes winding in an out of a charred, midtempo cosmic disco groove. We have no doubt that Baldelli approves!

Hot summer rain hits the cracked pavement in uneven rhythms. A neon sign flickers above a café that never seems to close, its warm white light reflected in the wet ground like a fever dream. The air smells of summer and the world hums with an easy tone, as if the city itself is holding its breath. A light flooded film noir-ish scene, that needs a soundtrack like „POOL JAMS, the new album of INIT, the Berlin based duo, that already caused quite a stir with their albums for Hivern Discs and Optimo Music. This time, they bring their latest creations out on R.i.O. - a label, with whom they are deeply associated. Their fourth longplayer is a playful one. One that brings trip hopping feelings. That has rnb grace, without catering regular trademarks of the genre. Dub, trance, drone, is all there too. Yet, nothing is present in pure definition. Rather suggested, interwoven, or newly twisted in a songwriting style, that haunts and seduces. On top the voice of Nadia DAlò dances, steps and hums tempting to the grooves she created with her partner in crime Benedikt Frey. Together they fashioned a record, that, as INIT puts it, is „some kind of old photo from an old dry empty pool that got faded by sunlight . A dreamy, sunny piece of song art, made for endless smoky LA freeway drives, and other adventures that seek for infinite riddance. You can dream it. You can trance it. You cant escape it, as soon as it rotates in your dream device for sound and vision.
