Japanese veteran DJ Sodeyama lands on Observant with DAGDA, the labels 26th offering, delivering a concise yet forceful statement shaped for dark, pressure-driven spaces. Known for balancing physical impact with precise control, Sodeyama strips his language to its essentials here with dense low-end weight, charged atmospheres, and restless rhythmic motion. Across the EP, electricity hums beneath the surface. Rolling momentum, skippy high-end movement, and bleep-laced percussive details lock into muscular frameworks that hit hard without excess. Rising synth tension and crisp basslines drive peak moments, while more tripped-out passages lean into detached vocal fragments and modulated tones, pulling the energy inward without losing grip. Sci-fi inflections colour the edges, adding character rather than spectacle. DAGDA is a focused, club-ready release—lean, physical, and finely calibrated—capturing Sodeyamas sound at its most direct while fitting seamlessly into Observants forward-leaning catalogue.
With Severance, IGLO returns to Figure with a focused yet exploratory EP that reflects his open-ended approach to contemporary techno. The release moves fluidly between restraint and expression, combining functional structures with subtle, unconventional elements that give the tracks a distinct sense of character. Rather than settling into a fixed formula, Severance highlights IGLO's curiosity and willingness to push his sound forward while remaining grounded in precision and control. Connection opens the release with a restrained, heads-down groove. A firm low-end foundation and sparse percussion lock into a steady momentum, while understated melodic elements add depth without breaking the track's linear drive. On Kauriraris, the energy tightens. Nervous synth motifs and crisp rhythmic details create a sense of urgency, pushing the track forward through constant micro-variation. It's a lean and effective tool built for sustained pressure. Flipping the record, Blink Twice moves into darker, denser territory. Murky textures and a weighty groove unfold gradually, building tension through repetition and space. The track thrives on its slow burn, making it well-suited for late night transitions. Alive introduces a more open and flowing feel. Warmer tonal elements and a subtle swing soften the edges, while the groove remains firmly anchored and forward-moving. Digital-only track Forlornly closes the EP with a spacious and introspective mood. Reduced rhythms and airy melodic layers create a calm, drifting atmosphere that rounds off the release with control and restraint. With Severance, IGLO delivers a tightly structured EP that emphasizes clarity, tension and functionality - a confident addition to the Figure catalogue.
DHÆÜR makes his debut on Dustin Zahn's Enemy Records with 4 stripped down Techno tools ranging from "relentless and heavy" to "grooving and introspective." Each track offers a different approach to minimalistic Techno, all rich in moody atmospherics. The EP has already been receiving regular play from the likes of Ben Klock, DVS1, Rene Wise, and others. In classic A1 fashion, "Bayes Theorem" is heaviest track on the record. Throbbing sub bass meshes together with pedaling hi hats while vocal chops and modulating synth work cover the top end. It's sinister and pounding, yet retains a sense of groove without becoming too aggressive. "Perception" closes the A side with a deeper and more introspective approach. The bass fills in only where necessary, leaving the pads and bleepy synths to do all the heavy lifting. "Scanning" kicks off the B-side, defined by a rolling bass line and moody chord stabs. It gives the dance floor exactly what it needs and nothing more. The record comes to a close with "5th Avenue." It's deep, steady, rolling, and dripping in polymeter synth pulses. Brief glimpses of vocal phrases offset the darkness, giving it a bit of funk and playfulness…making it essential for deeper late night sets.
Alexander Kulikov returns to Soma Records with October Dreams Part 2, a deeply emotive second chapter that expands on the sonic world he introduced with last year's release. Where its predecessor set the tone, this new installment dives further inward—unfolding a richer, more immersive exploration of Kulikov's ethereal and atmospheric sound design. October Dreams Part 2 is defined by restraint and emotion. Weightless pads, fragile melodies, and slowly evolving textures drift through shadow and light, creating a sense of quiet intensity that lingers long after the final note. It's music shaped by space and feeling—introspective, cinematic, and unmistakably personal. The release is complemented by two carefully chosen remixes that reframe Kulikov's material from distinct perspectives. Berlin's APRS delivers a deep, club-focused interpretation, grounding the atmosphere in subtle propulsion and late-night energy, while Bastian Balders takes a darker path, twisting the source material int
With Coalescence, The Third Room brings together artists from distinct yet interconnected techno lineages, united by a shared understanding of the music as both physical and introspective. Rather than staging contrasts, the EP focuses on convergence, where propulsion, atmosphere and restraint fold into a coherent whole. Rene Wise & Ignez open the release with Anjos, pairing Wises tactile, percussive pressure with Ignezs expansive, oceanic pads. The result sits at the intersection of functional drive and elevated, almost devotional space, reflecting a new generations approach to techno as both tool and inner landscape. Norbaks remix draws the track further inward, deepening its hypnotic pull and extending its energy into a more meditative, slow-burning form. On the B-side, Claudio PRC & Luigi Tozzi present Onirica, a deeply restrained and immersive composition rooted in atmosphere, spatial detail and subtle psychedelia. Unfolding with patience, it rewards attentive listening and long-form dancefloor contexts. Markus Suckut closes the EP by reducing Onirica to its bare essentials, applying his signature economy and precision to heighten tension and focus. Coalescence reflects The Third Rooms vision of techno as a shared terrain, where different voices and generations meet, align and quietly reinforce one another.
Kai Galactics latest EP, Obsessed, released on Oslated, features five original tracks defined by their distinct and individual character, along with two additional remixes by CTAFAD and Rainsoft. With deep immersion, gradually intensifying progressions, and melodic soundscapes, the EP weaves together diverse elements that draw the listener into a single, cohesive story. Obsessed carries the wish that listeners will be completely captivated and lose themselves in the music. It is our hope that this feeling resonates deeply within your heart. Asymmetric head Inigo Kennedy returns to his label to kick off another year with a stunning five track EP Flux Rope. Title track Flux Rope opens the release with a solid 909 four-to-the-floor, heavy toms, fizzing hats and a fluttering synth line that teases throughout. Next up, Maruader, which keeps with the four-to-the-floor feel and lurches in the best of ways with an absolutely killer bleep-style bass and shuffling hats; an ice cold pad cuts though as the track evolves. Third track, The Witching Hour, is classic Asymmetric, rolling bass-heavy percussion set against yearnful pads which tip upwards every so often. Changing tack is fourth track Up End It All, an uplifting and slamming take on drum and bass, heavy constantly changing beats on rotation and classic Kennedy melody binding the track together in elegant style. Last up is Infinity, another slice of Asymmetric class, driving beats and weaving arpeggios. What a start to 2026!
Ben Sims Snapshot 99 has been remixed by ANNE, with three versions of one of 2023s Techno anthems joining an original dub on the release from Hardgrooves vinyl offshoot, Hardgroove Originals. Stemming from the hard discovery of a riff created in 1999, Snapshot 99 was one of 2023s biggest tracks, with its penetrative contemporary groove offsetting the floaty, infectious topline in a rare bit of studio alchemy that joins two centuries. Now, Greek artist and Hardgroove (and sister label, Symbolism) associate ANNEs versions take the track into undulating, percussive, and deep chord-laden territories that could resonate throughout a full night or provide an arsenal of weapons for the creative DJs out there. Sims dub, featured on the original release, hits vinyl for the first time in all of its stripped-back glory.
