DIVERSION is a duo from Cork, Ireland, whose journey began early through a shared passion for electronic music. After meeting in school and playing their first DJ sets together, production quickly followed. Since then, they have released over 25 tracks and four EPs, steadily shaping their own sonic identity. Over the past two years, that identity has evolved significantly. Their sound has moved toward a more raw and driving form of techno, stripped back and focused on momentum, pressure and atmosphere. Signal From The Burren captures this shift and marks a clear statement of where DIVERSION stand today. Produced throughout 2025, the EP reflects a refined yet versatile approach, with each track contributing its own character while remaining grounded in a cohesive vision. With a glorious flourish of melodious club abstraction, cult producer Quirke makes a welcome return by delivering his most upfront tracks to date for Dekmantel. Josh Quirke first came through on Young Turks (Young) and Whities (AD93) through the 2010s, offering a distinctive, slanted take on hardcore and house music alike that came shrouded in dense atmospherics and shot through with wistful melancholia. Comparisons to artists like Burial and Skee Mask werent unfounded, but Quirke was very much operating on his own terms, as he has continued to ever since. The last we heard from the low-key producer was his debut album Steal A Golden Hail, released on Whities in 2019, and now he comes through with a strong update to his sound that finds a natural home on Dekmantel. Its clear from the structural shifts in lead track Underdetermined that Quirke is operating free from the so-called rules of dance music, veering from a pure synth intro straight into the full peak of the track without so much as a warm-up. Placing emotionality ahead of functionality, Underdetermined manages to be every inch an anthem. The OT3 deals in denser percussive textures and haunted pads, with ample room for wistful sentimentality and a steady trucking kick. On Worth Variation, the array of blown-out elements are glued together into a dub techno pulse, where every atmospheric impulse feels like part of the groove. Ten Times Over Crystal Fruit completes the record across a grand sweep of narrative arrangement, shifting through phases and heavy layers of joyful noise. Its intense and delicate in equal measure, absolutely ready to move a mass of bodies but without ever deferring to the familiar. Quirke happily avoids engagement with the wider scene while making his truly individual music, but he himself admits he struck upon a dimension of his sound that could explore immediacy and impact without losing the subtle, smudged-out beauty inherent in his musical DNA.

A new year welcomes a new artist to watch on Float. Australia continues to be a fertile ground for emerging talent, and Sensor Systems is a standout among this new wave. He makes his debut on Float Records with Anhedonic, an EP that firmly establishes his sonic identity. Sensor Systems delivers a signature sound compelling a blend of club-oriented sci-fi atmospheres, pulsive repetition, and strikingly deep low-end rhythms. Checking back into Token with his unmistakable sound, Nørbaks Chuva delivers four relentless slices of modern techno. Stretching textures and grilling circuits, the EP presents itself as a statement expressing a high pressure dancefloor experience. A proper introduction is never far from the Portuguese artist who has consistently pulled inspiration from ambient and experimental music. With one minute of drone to seemingly guide the experience, a swift switch decidedly flexes Sonho. Bending pitch and texture is a big theme in Chuva and the A1 leaves nothing to the imagination as Nørbak makes his intentions as clear as ever. Switching to Leveza, the producer takes a minimalist approach with accents on the percussive arrangements. Whipping delays on off-beat drum hits create an unreal acoustic environment while maintaining a maximum amount of tension. The synth line remains insistent as rides and various hi hats urge the track into psychosis with every transition. The titletrack Chuva takes a similar approach in the power of warm sound design, but this time we see a focus on warped melodics that are blissfully mixed in a track constantly bordering on chaos. Opening and closing the space, Nørbak takes to detuning his main synthline to create eruptive sections in the record while brewing a storm of ambience in the stereo field. As the final chapter, Capa bends almost to a break. Rhythmically expressive in every way, the track drives the EP home with a dangerous bassline and dry percussion to ride off of it. Signing off for this latest contribution to Token records, Nørbaks flare in the studio reasserts his position as one of technos most anticipated creators of recent years.

With Void EP, Daryl Grant delivers a compelling fusion of groovy techno and deep dub aesthetics on Entourage Concept. The release balances driving rhythms with spacious, hypnotic textures, creating a sound that is both powerful on the dancefloor and immersive in atmosphere. Void EP showcases Grants refined production style, where tight grooves meet subtle, dub-infused details for a timeless and forward-thinking techno statement.
