MindTrip presents MT—: Vakat, Legato EP. Following his previous appearance on the label, Montenegrin producer Vakat returns with Legato. Built around physical grooves, hypnotic synthesis and evolving LFOs, the EP moves with a deep sense of control over tension and release. Four productions as much for the mind as for the body, pulling the listener deeper into the label's universe. This is MindTrip! - Cover image of the Andromeda Galaxy (M31) by Pfirter. This majestic spiral galaxy, our closest galactic neighbor, is a swirling collection of stars, gas, and dust, offering a glimpse into the vast structure of the universe. -
Y-3, the pioneering sports-fashion collaboration between adidas and Yohji Yamamoto, has for three decades dwelled calmly within the tensions of existence. In conceiving the brands long-awaited return to runway format at Paris Fashion Week, these codes laid the groundwork leading up to the Spring/Summer 2025 season. Whilst the focus for runway is traditionally placed on garments, models, styling, environment, and the pageantry in between it was crucial that music play an integral role in the conversation. Three seasons later, sound has informed creative direction from the very earliest phases of ideation. Commissioning all-original compositions has become a natural part of this ideology. The return to runway has invited the opportunity to define a new sonic palette for the brand, and beyond that, to usher in a new era of sound for Y-3 that echoes across music & culture. Following this ethos, and with a mandate to support obscure talent, Montreal duo Solitary Dancer have emerged as the first collaborators in shaping the intimate brand architecture of noise & feeling. With a body of work now spanning over a trilogy of seasons, the genre-defying Y-3000 imprint provides an outlet to disseminate & recontexualize the original compositions beyond the traditional runway. The label embodies Y-3s enduring commitment to explore innovation within opposing cultural forces. The works, originally released on Y-3000 as a series of white labels, are now being featured as a 612 vinyl compilation. Designed by Trevor Jackson and limited to just 99 examples, the recordings will also be made available both digitally and on streaming services for the very first time.
James Ruskin's Blueprint Records continues its 30-year celebrations with a new EP by Kr!z who returns with his fourth EP for the label. Kr!z made his Blueprint debut in fine style with his "Neutrino EP" in 2022 and went on to deliver the "Revelation EP" in 2023 and "Horo EP" in 2024 so it's fitting that he's back to join in this landmark label anniversary. Kr!z has been at the forefront of techno for more than a decade. Influenced by the hypnotic and energetic sound helmed by veterans such as Jeff Mills, Steve Rachmad and James Ruskin, he gradually but steadily developed his own identity in the international techno scene. After making a name for himself as a skilled DJ with sharp focus and a quick mixing style in home country Belgium and the Netherlands, Kr!z launched Token Records in 2007. It has since been a leading outlet for heady, purist sounds. He rapidly established the label as a fixed value with a timeless and powerful sound and took it around the world with label nights on every continent. Token remains important in defining techno today - always straightforward, sometimes weird, often catchy - all under the helm of Kr!z as avid A&R. After 12 years spent assiduously focused on curating the Token discography, showcasing artists he has nurtured and supported over this time, and incorporating the connoisseur's knowledge and experience he has cultivated in his work as a DJ, in 2019 he released his own debut EP "Mantra" on the label, earning high acclaim from both media and key DJs. Since then, he has continued to develop a strong body of work, regularly releasing on the influential Blueprint Records and SK_eleven alongside his own Token imprint, and producing aseries of notable remixes. This steady output has established him as a key figure within the techno landscape, recognized for both consistency and artistic depth.
After years of sustained studio work, sonic research, and conceptual exploration, this album stands as the definitive consolidation of their collaborative project. Born from the dialogue between two distinct yet complementary visions of techno — Orbe's futuristic and immersive atmospheres, and Psyk's hypnotic depth, stripped-back minimalism — the record unfolds as a carefully sculpted sonic journey. Tension, space, and texture take center stage, shaping an evolving narrative that progresses seamlessly from track to track. More than a collection of individual cuts, the album embodies a cohesive and mature concept: a shared identity refined through countless hours of studio experimentation, critical listening, and synthesis. Here, the core essence of the project crystallizes — a point of convergence between atmosphere and impact, abstraction and functionality, introspection and raw dancefloor energy. This release not only marks the culmination of an intensive creative cycle, but also signals the beginning of a new phase in their ongoing exploration of techno's expressive potential.
This EP marks a natural convergence for Primal Instinct. Built around pure dancefloor intent, it presents a focused spectrum of moods, unified by intent. Each track is unmistakably Temudo, and unmistakably Primal Instinct: physical, driven, and designed to move bodies first and foremost. The release is the result of close collaboration between Temudo and the label. A shared framework took shape, allowing Temudo to adapt to the vision without altering his sound, forming a joint effort where two aesthetics align. Visually, an image rooted in memories of Carnival in Temudo's hometown becomes the perfect symbol: chaotic, social, and in constant motion, reflecting the absurdity of life and the human condition.
Debuting on Token with his 'Blind Witness' EP, Pierce serves high-intensity cuts produced with finesse and flare. An architect of wide dimension, the producer works meticulously not only on the bite of his elements but the textures that glue everything together. Diving into immersion, Pierce executes four surgically precise tracks that burst at the seams and onto the dancefloor. Beginning with ambient work, a haunting kick/bass combination follows shortly with metallic motion in the stereo field. Patient in its structure, the title track 'Blind Witness' takes its time to develop into a full capacity thriller by its midpoint. It's a dense product, but nothing oversteps its boundaries - a tip of the hat to question/answer techno that characterizes the most efficient records in the genre. Continuing in the spirit of demonic low-end, 'There is No Self' takes its turn. With a hand on the resonance, the bassline cuts through an eye twitchingly saturated rumble to later add a layer of bright plucks, filling up the spectrum to insure a firm grip on the dancefloor. Classic in construction yet cutting edge in technique, Pierce imposes the weight of the A side through the constant evolution of stark elements. 'Vulnus' follows to appropriately push depth into the EP, subtracting channels for a more intimate experience that remains anything but light. Shaking the lead throughout the track, the roundness of his bass meets perfectly with the punch of his percussion, swaying the hats in pitch to add a touch of psychosis. 'Secret Patterns' ends the EP on a slightly more vintage note. Increasingly playful on the drum machine, the lead and pad take a good amount of space occupying the mid range. Bubbly textures rise from the depths to pop at the surface in the second half and although Pierce's sound design on the project is usually very sharp, his dosage of rounder sounds like these make his tracks sound very complete and complimentary. This balance of design to compliment each element is a tough feat, but Pierce funnels his expertise into very precise intention, making 'Blind Witness' a force to be reckoned with already so early in the year.
This tracks Anton Kubikov dedicated to walking in the forest and connecting with nature this autumn. Nothing can be closer to nature than dub and dubtechno. Dark tree trunks, an endless carpet of moss spread out on the stones, the crackling of branches underfoot, rare drops of rain through the leaves and a light haze on the horizon. Enjoy!
We're excited to unveil the first-ever release from Purpurea, the new project from Ness and Onho. Their debut album delivers ten cuts that fuse dub weight, deep atmospheres, and minimal precision into a signature sound that feels instantly defined. Broken grooves collide with tight 4/4 frameworks, creating a dynamic tension that drives the record forward while keeping everything immersive and hypnotic. With this album, Purpurea steps onto the scene fully formed-bold, focused, and carving out their own space from the very first beat.
Nightfall marks Maohs first release on The Third Room, channelling a sound distilled through years of deep exploration. Four tracks evoke natural forces and instinctive motion, reshaping the dancefloor into a psychedelic, collective yet deeply personal journey driven by a relentless, precise groove. Maoh commits to a tightly defined sonic language born from tribal percussion and restrained rhythmic dynamic, creating a physical and grounded listening experience. Deeply rooted in repetition and pulse, the release remains precise in its contemporary execution, serving as a bridge capable of uniting listeners in shared momentum. As the tool-driven composition unfolds into storylines, revealing vast and unfamiliar landscapes, sparse voices surface to complete the narrative like a final breath, reminding us of the human presence within the universal expanse that the release encapsulates. Ultimately, Nightfall traces a continuous line from early collective expression to a forward-facing, technological present. Rhythm functions here as ritual and joint movement, articulated with clarity and intent.
