    More Than Four

    Chris Korda

    Beatport Banner

Chris Kordas More Than Four is flagrant rhythmic heresy: electronic dance music thats not only in odd time, but also in complex polymeter. Each of the albums tracks uses at least four time signatures at once, typically including 3, 4, 5, and 7. The title is a pun on the 1966 Miles Davis album Four & More. Progressive rock bands commonly switched time signatures, but Korda takes it to the next level, by using multiple time signatures concurrently. For example in the title track, the synth part is in 7/4, whereas the piano part is in 6/4, hence the piano slips out of synchronization with the synth, and then converges with it again. This deliberate slippage is characteristic of phase music, historically associated with minimal composers such as Steve Reich and Terry Riley. Korda sees the hegemony of the generic 4/4 disco beat as a pleasure prison and is determined to escape from it by any means necessary. To that end she developed an open-source music composition softwareaptly named Polymeterover many years, and uses it exclusively. According to Korda, homogenization of culture is the epitome of industrialism, motivated by the need to standardize consumption. Korda tirelessly agitates for all types of diversity, including cultural, biological, and gender diversity. More Than Four features relatively few lyrics, but theyre true to form. The title track pokes fun at the monotony of disco, while Moonchego satirizes conspiracy theorists and their alternative facts. Pleasant Mistake'' captures the selfishness and myopia that propel us towards an unlivable future, while Planet Broke is a furious anti-natalist anthem for the future generations were betraying. The album expresses realism, existentialism, and scientific pragmatism, and leads us to a surprising conclusion: The planet will be fine; its we who are in danger. Chris Korda is an internationally renowned multimedia artist, whose work spans nearly thirty years and includes electronic music, digital and video art, performance and conceptual art, and culture jamming. Shes been slipping subversion into DJ mixes since the mid-1990s, when she was one of the founders of electroclash and pioneered the use of complex polymeter in techno.

Adventures of the Past Volume 1

    Markus Sommer

    Beatport Banner

With Adventures of the Past Volume 1, Markus Sommer opens the door to a personal archive of music that nearly stayed hidden. Written and produced between 2015 and 2021, these tracks were once lost in the process — unfinished chapters, hard-drive memories, sketches from different moments in life — before eventually finding their way into the world. Rather than presenting a polished snapshot of one specific period, Adventures of the Past Volume 1, feels like a collection of time capsules. Across ten tracks Sommer moves between deep house warmth, electro shades, UK garage rhythms, experimental and minimal details and understated club functionality. The result is intimate and free-flowing: music that carries the memory of its own making. There is a strong sense of honesty throughout the release. These are not tracks forced into a single concept, but pieces that reflect different emotional and musical moments — small flashbacks from the studio, preserved with their own character. Some cuts lean into dancefloor energy, others feel more reflective or leftfield, but together they form a loose diary of sound: playful, humble, personal and rooted in the underground language Sommer has built around his work as a DJ, producer and label head. Mastered by Sommer himself and accompanied by his own photography, Adventures of the Past Volume 1, keeps the presentation close to the source. It is music shared without over-explanation: a gesture of release, memory and connection. Or, in the spirit of the original note behind the record — stay humble, share music, love and peace.

    Relative

    Beatport Banner

After five years Simone Guerra (aka Relative) returns to the "House of Mikkit" on his own Flexi Cuts imprint. This dancefloor-oriented album is a manifesto of raw obsession and future patterns, crafted for those who've stopped chasing trends to find something real. The record breathes through deep fat analog basslines and hypnotic arpeggios, layered with dreamy synth lines and ghostly vocoder textures. It's a gritty, essential dive into the Italian underground—eight tracks where the machine finds its soul. If you're feeling downwith your things, if you're always chasing the tail end of the wave and looking back to it saying "wow"… this is a record you might want to listen to. Ron Trent , Pablo Color , Angel Figueroa

    Beatport Banner

Another standout chapter in the Sacred Medicine catalogue, this latest release sees Ron Trent at the helm once again. This time featuring master percussionist Angel Figueroa (Herbie Hancock "This is the Drum" ) and multi versed guitarist Pablo Color. The track unfolds through layered rhythms and melodies that feel light yet deeply pulsating, carrying both elegance and intensity. Its rich, evolving arrangement balances a strong percussive drive with a sense of space and musicality, revealing new details with every listen. On the flipside, a more acoustic "Suite" version offers an alternate perspective, highlighting the composition's organic textures and depth. A record that speaks to both dancers and attentive listeners alike, and another meaningful addition to the ever-consistent Sacred Medicine catalogue.

    Demuja

    Beatport Banner

Peach Discs continues into 2026 with a deeply jacking record from the king of the live house jam Demuja. If you've seen him on the 'gram you'll know just how incredibly prolific he is - the tracks that make up this EP were whittled down, tweaked and finessed from close to 100 demos, and we're thrilled with what we've put together, together. In his own words, the EP is "a little love letter to the dancefloor that lives within the idea of a long, sweaty night out. All the tracks were made at very different stages - some produced a while ago, others more recently - and I hope that's part of what makes the EP interesting as well." The "title.txt" EP embodies a pure distillation of Demuja's sound- rooted in classic house techniques with a dubbed-out sensibility and, the record's five tracks all stem from live-jams bashed out with focused intention in his Austrian studio on a plethora of drum machines, synths and effects units. Things kick off with probably the wiggliest of the lot, as "Stop Asking Me" worms a long-range bassline around snappy, stripped-back drums before leaning towards techno (can you hear a snare on the 2 and the 4 cos i can't) on "Oldhead," as its dusty samples drag it back towards house, with a sprinkling of dubstep flavour tucked away in the breakdown. The A-side wraps up in a dubbed-out mode with "Say No More's" deep, modulating textures wrapping themselves around skippy, insistent percussion. Those dub sounds carry over onto the B-side's "Tool 6," as classically filtered chords peek through the mix (though that bassline is definitely talking tech-house), and Pulse brings it home with strutting drums, disembodied vox and arcing synthlines. We've also thrown in two bonus tracks you won't find on the 12" but will be available to those that pick up a copy of the record through the Peach Discs Bandcamp. Tasked with picking one fave each, Gramrcy went for "Almost Cherry," a barreling ride across an insistent Reese bassline reminiscent of Samuel L Sessions' best bombs, while Shanti chose the wiggling, diva-wailing "Art of Failing."
