Following the straight up jit battle footwork attack of last months Square Up EP Detroit turntablist, producer and Databass label owner, DJ Godfather keeps us guessing with a fresh EP that works across electro, footwork and ghetto-tech with equal aplomb. Thats Right (313) kick starts with the robotic electro of Algorythm before Godfather takes it to the Motor City streets to inject some extra Detroit jit footwork with Thats Right (313) and the aptly named Shake That Booty.

5 years after the New York label launched into the uncertain world of the COVID pandemic, Kindergartens place in the New York landscape is secured. Today, the label releases its most laser-focused collection of tracks to mark the anniversary, punctuating a deep catalogue of heaters that have pushed a unique take on bass music marked by a fervent futurism and scattergun rhythmic flourish. Kindergarten has acted as a nursery of creativity for a core crew of artists discovered through physical proximity and online connection alike, and always through shared appreciation for tough and ready dancefloor sounds and genuine friendship. Fitting then, that every one of the Kindergarten alumni returns with quintessential rhythmic intricacy and head-spinning quirk, reaching for what now feel like classic Kindergarten touchpoints. Whether its knotty, muscular techno (Zipper, Tidal Bore, Lips Loose), weapons-grade sound-design (FBchord, Blah), somersaulting 160 (Mushin, splattertek, Dash You) or gnarled nods to trance (Im thinking, yeah!, Aether Wounds, where the body does) the essence of Kindergarten is here in all its amorphic glory. Helmed by a queer woman amid the traditionally cishet and hypermasculine bass music milieu, Kindergarten helped pioneer these sounds in a city that had yet to fully adopt them as its own. Inclusivity and a family feel is at the heart of the label: witness any of Kindergartens monthly mega b2bs on The Lot Radio and you can feel how much fun the crew have playing together and how freely ideas bounce around. As ever, these tracks are bound by the same wild abandon at their core. Five years is a long time in club music, and its no easy feat to build a catalogue of music and a tight-knit community of people, all with disparate influences, and remain committed to experimentation and play while the results retain a crystallized identity. But listen to any of the ten tracks in here and you will know what makes a Kindergarten record.

The CoOp Presents label kick off their 2026 release-run with the 7th in their 'One-Shots' series. Label bosses IG Culture & Alex Phountzi link up under their NameBrandSound moniker once again, this time drafting in the vocals of South Africa's ASAP Shembe, for a track called 'Baleka'. Following on from collabs in the past year with Reek0 from the Brighter Days Family and Nuff Pedals (aka Dismantle), NameBrandSound continue to build upon their illustrious catalogue that they've been carefully crafting over the past few years. As two pioneers of the bruk scene, they can also be found fortnightly on the mighty Rinse FM pushing the newest sounds of the movement. ASAP Shembe was raised in Johannesburg, largely influenced by his father's tape collection. He's since collaborated with artists like Atjazz, Kid Fonque & Sipho the Gift. Accolades include features in OkayAfrica's "Artists Shaping The Future of South African Music", the cover of The Sunday Times 'Lifestyle' mag, being a finalist for Afropunk's 'Battle of the Bands', and multiple number one singles on the 5FM chart in SA. 'Baleka' is a Zulu & Xhosa verb meaning "run away" or "flee". On the contrary, this is one that's sure to make heads run towards the dance. Skippy drums, twisted bass and vibrant synth stabs merge with Shembe's vocals for a uniquely London x South African combination of flavours. Essential. This one drops on Bandcamp February 20th, then lands on all DSPs February 27th 2026.
An artist that never stops exploring new territories in sound, Brendon Moeller returns to Delsin with six deep techno steppers following up his Highly Concentrated EP from 2022. Low in frequencies, high in energies. Over the course of six tracks Moeller morphs his iconic dub informed productions into highly intelligent rhythmic arrangements. From introvert techno loops to adventurous dub stepping heavy hitters, its a full pack of an exciting new chapter in Moellers extensive catalogue.
Holland has its own Analord. His name is Null Wave, he comes from Utrecht and is about to release a record on SoHaSo that will blow your socks off: the Pinnascam EP. It wasn't an easy birth. Five years went by since his amazing debut track Lizard Person on a now sold-out cassette. Being an in demand and picky sound engineer, Null Wave first wasn't sure ifhis complex beat manipulations were good enough to share with the world. Trust us, they are. The four tracks on Pinnascam are as unique as they are brilliant. A magic potion made up of the brutal energy of Blawan, the energy of a very young Squarepusher and the beauty of the Analord series. It's not braindance nor IDM or industrial dub. It's Null Wave. The title track has a high vintage Warp Records-vibe, with its maniacal beats-in-overdrive and reverb bass. At the same time, it sounds totally unique, fun and fresh. On the slow paced Smash Hand, Null Wave radically pulls the brake while pushing the bassline front stage. If you ever thought The Bug is the only one mastering these kind of subsonic layers, think again. Is it a parody on Justice or just taking the piss? We Are Not Your is pushing you sideways, with its multitude of harmonies woven together like Japanese origami.Closing track Debits is an intriguing delicate affair with its halftime rhythm action, tweaked modular synths and subsonic bass lines. What an uncut gem of a debut record.
