When the stomping bass joins the stabs and skipping drums, hands-in-the-air and smiling faces are absolutely guaranteed. --- Mesmerise Mesmerise follows the path of liquid/RnB fusion that the trio previously explored on Aperol and their recent Dispatch Blueprints EP, sultry vibes for late-night lovers. Crisp drums shuffle along underneath looped keys, joined by flickers of yearning vocals. When the bubbling bassline slides in you're hooked, the drop locks you in tight and doesn't let go. Hypnotic soul music with purpose and drive. --- On & On On & On is a great snapshot of the Majesty sound and ethos, effortlessly blurring the lines between sub-genres and moods and providing a perfect bridge between zones for the DJ's. Atmospheric jungle-inspired chords and hints of euphoric vocals morph into a tough roller with a hard minimal step. The uplifting intro surrenders to a heavyweight drop as ugly abrasive bass tones meet fragmented synths and piano keys, the contrast heightening the emotional journey. --- Femme Fatale The EP concludes with the trio at their most savage. Dropping you immediately into a bleak sci-fi soundscape, the jagged breaks and glitching FX foreshadow the monster that awaits. Pristine synthetic drum hits meet crushed breakbeats, building the pressure and anxiety before the explosion of scorched and squelching bass twists and turns in conversation with the cyborg drumfunk. NC-17 returns to Dispatch Recordings with No One Lives Forever - a cinematic new full-length project shaped by Peter's long-standing obsession with film culture, tension-building and stripped-back low-end design. Following a run of critically acclaimed LPs for the label, the album sees NC-17 refining his sound further than ever before: less clutter, more weight, more atmosphere and a deeper focus on groove, movement and emotional impact. Heavily influenced by cinema both sonically and conceptually, No One Lives Forever plays like a series of noir-infused scenes unfolding across rolling subs, hypnotic percussion, razor-sharp drum programming and moments of widescreen intensity. The project arrives alongside a major crossover moment for the artist, with NC-17 featured in a new Sight & Sound (BFI) interview exploring the relationship between film and music, including contributions and quotes from legendary filmmakers such as Quentin Tarantino, Paul Schrader, Sean Baker and Roger Avary.
