Soulfuric is one of the most well-renowned labels in house music worldwide. As production duo Jazz-N-Groove and Urban Blues Project (UBP), Brian Tappert and Marc Pomeroy released records on classic labels including Sub-Urban, Strictly Rhythm and AM:PM, even cueing up the first ever release on Defected Records (and a UK chart no.8) with Soulsearcher's 'Can't Get Enough'. In 1996, the two founded their own label Soulfuric Recordings which eventually included sub-labels Soulfuric Deep and Soulfuric Trax. Soulfuric was and is one of the most important labels in the history of this genre we love, garnering a cult following and releasing classics from Axwell, John 'Julius' Knight, Shawn Christopher, Hardsoul, Melba Moore, & Copyright. Keith Thompson has had a constant hand in house music since its early days. 'Messin' With My Mind' sees him team up with expressive vocalist Gary Little. Label bosses Brian Tappert & Marc Pomeroy turn in three characteristically soulful mixes, a pair as Urban Blues Project and one as Jazz-N-Groove. Guy Robin's mix pushes the track's luscious strings to the fore, whilst the Layabouts opt for a spacious, reverb-heavy approach on their pair of remixes, and Phonic Funk offer a more electronic interpretation. West London legends Orin Walters and Phil Asher don their Blak 'n' Spanish alias for their rework, carried along on raw drums, and an Accapella round out this bumper package. As the first release on Soulfuric Recordings, 'Your Heaven (I Can Feel It)' set a high bar for the label's output, with Pomeroy & Tappert's outstanding production values shining from the get-go, the live bassline and tight horn section acting as the perfect foil for Pearl Mae's vocal. A dub, instrumental and accapella supplement UBP's classic mix, whilst the M&S Epic Mix and its instrumental counterpart are aptly titled. The Soulfuric Dub, meanwhile, is a club weapon with a tracky feel opening out into a rollicking piano breakdown.
