September Samples is an EP built around Sebra Cruz's great passion: the art of sampling. The title track revolves around a vocal chorus with an Italo flavour - somewhere between Lucio Battisti and a half-remembered dream - sung by Sebra himself, surrounded by a cluster of samples fished randomly from the internet, yet spinning together so organically and gently they could have been recorded in the same room, at the same moment. 'Basso e Campioni' is a raw, purely dancefloor-oriented cut: a handful of elements placed carefully across the stereo field, an analog bass joined by vocal and rhythmic fragments with an underground dub-house taste. 'I'm So Glide' is a tangle of samples slipping through the sampler's glide - as if everything were a mistake, and at the same time exactly as it should be. 'Beat for the Future' closes the EP as a soft, enveloping bonus beat suspended between electronic house and minimal noise - a beat that could have been made 15 years ago, or 15 years from now.
