Moult Mouth is the new six-track EP by Aja Ireland, released on Infinite Machine. Exploring mutant femme energy, queer club culture, body autonomy and the liberating power of movement, the project draws from experimental bass, industrial techno, baile funk and granular, spatial sound design to challenge how femininity, sensuality and the body are framed within club spaces. Opening track Mami Voguer celebrates unity and liberation on the dance floor, inspired by Brazilian rhythms and queer nightlife, while Grind It Like builds a metaphorical warehouse where inhibitions fall away and movement becomes ritual. Smile twists forced politeness into a display of teeth, appetite and refusal, reclaiming predatory myths projected onto women, and Gloss, Category Femme and Soft Feral complete the EP through pounding techno, fractured vocals and layered textures that shift between the creaturely and the celestial. Released alongside the EP are three music videos that extend Moult Mouth into a rich visual and physical world. The wider project is a multi-disciplinary exploration that also culminates in a full AV live show created with visual artist Joey Holder. Across sound, image and movement, it investigates the monstrous as empowerment - reclaiming sensuality, dance and self-expression from patriarchal framing. The live performance dissolves the human form into hybrid creatures and shifting surfaces, with costumes by Studio FCLX and SKNDLSS acting as protective, altered skins. While the EP stands alone as a powerful club record, it also forms the sonic backbone of a wider world where sound, image and movement merge. Through dance, costume, visual art and sound, Moult Mouth forges new forms of embodied expression. The music becomes a site of release - where teeth bare, bodies expand and movement becomes a declaration of autonomy.
