A year on from Aura Safari and Jimi Tenors Sensory Blending and DJs and dancers are still lost in its summer charms, but there have also been a series of standout remixes taken from the originals, which now get assembled on one EP: Sensory Re- Blending features Willie Graff, Reverso 68, Jazz N Palms and Luminodisco. Adriatic legend, Hell Yeah Recordings regular and consummate musician Verdo dropped his long-awaited debut album GRATIS CLUB on Hell Yeah in February. Now the third single for it gets a standalone pressing complete with remixes from German electronic mastermind Lauer and Secret Society aka South Wales's Cal Gibson. Ballad is a bittersweet downbeat delight. It's the sound of the party ending - a comforting accompaniment for the walk home with a fuzzy synth afterglow, distant stars twinkling before they fade out as a warming vocoder blurs reality. Running Back mainstay Lauer's remix brings more snap to the drums and layers in loopy arps and sugary chords that uplift and energise with the same sun-baked warmth as Moon Safari. Finally, previous label remixer and Buena Onda contributor Cal Gibsons shows his class with a whimsical rework that's gently rhythmic. A warm glow rises up amongst the sad robot voices and dub weight keeps you locked in for a bleary-eyed trip.
