  • Mufonyala Feat. Fotiniya
BeatTracker #42 Feat. Banner in Indie Dance

    Mufonyala Feat. Fotiniya

    Cable Toy , FOTINIYA

    Beatport Banner

DJ, producer and musician Cable Toy, whose tracks are being played at Dekmantel, Panoramabar, Boiler Room and Coachella, follows up releases for Jex Opolis Good Timin imprint, a remix for Wolfram Feat. Peaches on Public Posession, Toy Tonics (forthcoming comp) and Exploited Club with Mufonyala; a perfectly poised party track lands somewhere between Mood II Swing and Peggy Gou. The original mix is a bountiful groove that laces snappy 808 drums over a deep, sneaky bass line and warm, buttery synth tones. The vocals are from friend Fotiniya and - although non-sensical - provide a pop of colour and give the sound a truly singular seasoning. The remix channels the same spirit as the original but shifts it up a gear into more pacy, percussive territory. Shuffling snares and a slightly plumper bass line offer a second side to a coin that conjures the spirit of Panorama Sundays and renders a vivid image of the misty hue of daylight passing through the shutters.

  • Ballerina
BeatTracker #45 Feat. Staff Picks in Indie Dance

    Ballerina

    Captain Mustache

    Beatport Staff Picks

Kompakt and Return to Disorder affiliate Captain Moustache makes a welcome return to the Exploited catalogue and invites you to join him on a clean, cosmic quest down the Autobahn soundtracked by his latest offering Ballerina. A misty Italo loop circulates, mobilised by a propulsive thud and a concise, crispy synth snare. Archetypal tones capture the spirit of German pioneers as lucent melodies are interlaced in a braid of gently rousing emotion that recalls classic Flügel. Drums keep things tightly pinned while rich pads pilot progress until the end of a beautifully executed exercise in the raw materials of Synth Pop and Italo Disco.

    Claptone

    Beatport Top Releases

Today we present you our last release for this year. Claptone opened 2012 with the Beatport Top10 track 'Cream' which has become our most succesful tune on Exploited. Since then, Claptone has conquered hearts from clubbers and DJs worldwide. Claptone belongs to a new generation of artists from our roaster who - together with Adana Twins and Doctor Dru - took the dance-world by storm, playing shows all over the world now. Recently being featured on the Eskimonde Compilation (a decade of Eskimo Recordings) with a remix for Dirty Minds, the mysterious producer has a lot more in store for 2013 and we are happy that we can close the year with a release by Claptone: 2 new big tunes: 100%% Dancefloor Satisfaction Guaranteed!
