SYMPLEX joins forces with RAIDO for NIGHTMARE, unleashing their dark vision upon EATBRAIN. A descent through the fevered corridors of the mind, where rhythm becomes terror and sleep offers no refuge from the sound. There is no escape, but awakening. The nightmare had always been real.
Reflected across overlapping dimensions born of divergent causal chains, the single thread of an age-old story spun its wondrous tale time and time again, each new weaving of its tapestry of tales garbed in novel forms but resounding with a similar refrain. In a land dominated by the sea, two haggard sailors set sail in search of the knowledge that lay beyond the horizon. In a land of heroes and legends, two knights quested for that which would rid their kingdom of a sorcerers malevolent curse. In the lands of a far distant future, a novel pharmaceutical allowed its patients to delve into the knowledge of their ancestors, watching the events of their lives as a silent observer to the collective memory that all held within. In the primal lands that lay under the cold embrace of a black sun, three wolves set out for new hunting grounds across the frigid north. In each & every dimension, these linked souls each sought the treasure of knowledge lost, held in stasis by its isolation and eagerly awaiting its rediscovery. The mystical draw of such knowledge was constant, its tendrils of influence stretching beyond planar boundaries as it spurred those who heard its call to new feats of heroism. Thus it was in each of these dimensions, and thus it was in a final land, one in which two cowboys rode into the depths of the wilderness and in which saloons would soon sing the ballad of Scrugss & Sonny Jim. EATBRAIN & BURR OAK unveil the SOMEWHERE WE BELONG remixes, a mammoth companion work of collaborative effort to the original album that sees twelve of its tracks remixed and reimagined by a hand-selected list of like-minded sonic explorers to the twin minds behind BURR OAK. Skulking through the shadows underneath the city streets was a horrendous beast, an amalgamation of once human flesh that had been absorbed from those discarded and forgotten on the streets above. In time, the last vestiges of these individuals vengeful will had sought each other out, infusing in their rotten remains a revenant power that sought revenge on those by whom they had been slain. With each corpse that their combined form came across the monster grew in might, and with each killer that they slew in vengeance they found within themselves a spark of arcane power restored to their being. It was thus that they now held in thrall before their combined visage one who had slain many of their ilk, a prolific killer in his own right now paralysed in their grasp. From within their many-toothed maw shone a pale red light, hypnotic and enwrapturing for any to whom it shone. The lights allure drew them in, unsuspecting, before the beasts horrific embrace consumed them in a furious feast vengeful rage. Thus it was known that for all those who drew blood on the streets of the city above, the DEADLIGHT lurking below was to be their destined end. With the dissolution of the heavenly accords, war had erupted between the divinities of the cosmos. No longer bound by the sacred oaths of creation that had bestowed & guaranteed their domains of influence, the very nature of creation was ripe to be taken and reshaped by those of particular divine ambition. Indeed, with the loss of the heavenly accord came a further prospect for those of mortal blood. No longer bound by the circumstances of their birth, any who could slay a god would now rise to divinity in their stead. Thus it was that two storied mortal shapeshifters now stood united against the banal cruelty of the god of machines, slicing their way through the mass of metal that had once made up its immortal visage. The great bear rent through the alloyed skeleton of the god with ease, whilst the mighty serpent coiled itself around the construct gods vulnerable joints as an inescapable adversary. As the divinity stumbled, the two shapeshifters combined their might to decapitate the behemoth, severing the connection between body and processor and freeing the divine spark within. Yet neither shapeshifter sought to claim the spark, for theirs was a different mission of faith. They had sought out to kill Gods, not become them, and there were many more foes still yet to fall.
