Crash Planet is super stoked to announce our next release is from Finnish electronic music legend, Jori Hulkkonen. Jori and CRASH PLANET label boss Red Eye have long bonded over their love of 80s vibes and the synthpop stylings of groups like Pet Shop Boys and Depeche Mode for many years now. On the label he was previously associated with, Red Eye had already released several items from Jori. In 2019, Jori wrote ACIDSAD specifically for Red Eye to include on a compilation series for that label. Its a midtempo, slowburner that encompasses elements of synthpop, underground deep house vibes and, of course, a fluttering acidline. It is sprinkled with sparse just above a whisper melancholic lyrics that touch on the universal theme of longing, and unrequited affection. Fans of Royksopp, Pet Shop Boys and the like, tune in! This package includes a 2025 remaster of the original full length version and a shorter edit. Also, CRASH PLANET label veteran Itay Dailes turns in brand new remixes for the dancefloor! Itay pumps up the tempo a bit and gives us amazing Detroit techno inspired takes. Think Carl Craig, Kenny Larkin, etc. Deep, grimy, moody, emotional, and ever so slightly menacing. Dance your sads!
