The song was originally written/recorded by the iconic Anne Clark back in 1985 and has been a favorite of his since his first early teen years of clubbing. The socially conscious lyrics deal with being comfortable in ones own diversity, weirdness, uniqueness, queerness, and freakdom. Standing your ground and being perfectly content in the fact that youre the odd one out in a world that rewards vapidness, banality, sameness and conformity.
