Datskies Melancholiphoria EP is here. Colorize is delighted to present the first full length EP from Finnish producer / DJ Datskie. Since his first release on the label in 2022 he has perfected his graceful melodic house sound and now it comes together in the form of a dazzling seven-track EP. His distinct melodic focus is always present throughout the project, giving it a singular and at once sonically cohesive vibe. He also employs a range of textures to enhance it, whether its the progressive-leaning approach on opening tracks Core Impulse or Motions, the breaks rhythms of Drift, or the poignant and uplifting sonics of tracks like Sheltered and Blue. He also recruits a range of talented collaborators to lift the EPs tracks to lofty heights, including Moana, Moon Kyoo, Artemis Orion, Jordin Post and Mats Westbroek. 
A few words from Datskie: Melancholiphoria is a reflection on how there are two sides to every experience. Whereas euphoria is uncomplicated and powerful, melancholic music can access deeper and more complex states. These two states of mind exist within each other, and together they create a somber yet safe feeling: bliss in insignificance, bittersweet existentialism.

Now were graced with Zilker Gardens Echo, a dazzling rework of the original instrumental with luscious vocals. Stirring lyrics and an emphatic performance lifts the track to lofty heights, imbuing it with a refreshing depth and making this a triumph this Autumn on Colorize.
