After a 3-month hiatus, Meanwhile Horizons returns with another immaculately conceived EP. "When the World Heals / Embers in Bloom" sees label debutant, Eichenbaum, take centre stage with a highly developed twin-track offering. Born in Buenos Aires and exposed to variety of different music in the bustling metropolis, a move to New Zealand saw Eichenbaum focus on the Progressive House sound that has seen him become such a renowned figure in the genre. Based on the idyllic Waiheke Island with its Mediterranean climate, the Argentine-native has been a regular across the clubs and festivals of his adopted home. Furthermore, he has been a global performer in such exotic locations as Argentina, Japan, Mexico and the Netherlands, alongside the likes of Nick Warren, Sasha, Guy J and Hernán Cattaneo. In parallel, a successful production portfolio has seen a growing number of tracks feature on some of the most esteemed imprints within the Progressive House genre. As such, Mango Alley, Balance Music, Plattenbank and Forty Cats' PURRFECTION have all played host to the Eichenbaum sound as Andres now makes his Meanwhile Horizons debut. Characterised by a gorgeous, deep groove, lightened by delicious woodblock percussion, "When the World Heals" is a poignant reminder of music's beauty. Flowing steadily, a cornucopia of melodies, entwine and tumble over each other in a lush and hedonistic soundscape teeming with life. A strong cadenced bassline makes its presence felt as the track moves past the breakdown into the second half, giving a subtle and deeply inspiring dancefloor character. Following on with a similarly lavish and carefree sound, "Embers in Bloom" lights up with an immaculately programmed percussive and smooth sub-bass groove. Cascading pads wash over the listener in stereo-panned waves while a crystalline arpeggio cuts through the softer textures. Building through the stripped back middle section, a rousing bass crescendo and fizzing risers pave the way for a return to the deep and mesmerising foundation of earlier phases. Well worth the wait in a compelling and captivating set of soundscapes, Eichenbaum has certainly seen his production work flourish on "When the World Heals / Embers in Bloom".
