But We Did Survive & Beneath The Rafters
EL-EL stalwart and prince of funeral techno DARKSKYE is back, and just in time for Halloween, with two moody tech-trancers - BUT WE DID SURVIVE and BENEATH THE RAFTERS. The apocalyptically titled 'BUT WE DID SURVIVE' is signature DARKSKYE - pensive techno, with a hauntingly melancholic chord sequence, initially reminiscent of Pearl River, had Jenny Greenteeth and Peg Powler taken up residence. BENEATH THE RAFTERS is pure goth trance, flirting with 'the devils chord' tritone via a lizardy riff, cinematic pads, and cold metronomic drums. We've been digging FACTORIA's style of trance for a while now, so we're delighted to have finally bagged him for a remix. Echoes of Progress: This is a musical Journey spread over a quarter of a century from one of my best Friends and influential Producers, Bruno Kaufmann aka F-Act. This Album contains previously released and unreleased tracks showcasing his progress in music, hence the title "Echoes of Progress" When Bruno first mentioned he was going to try and get the released tracks back and maybe put together an Album I got quite excited, not because of Allanolgy Records but because some of the tracks I have never heard. The big excitement came when he asked if he could release on Allanology - without any hesitation, I said it would be an absolute honour to showcase his journey on Allanology. On the Album you will find 14 tracks ranging from Progressive House to Deep/Hypnotic Trance in the distinct F-Act sound that we all know and love today. I hope you will all enjoy the Album as I do.

Label head Blue Hour steps up for the next release with an impressive two tracker, offering a new exploration of sound from the Berlin based producer. First up on the A side Dimensions reveals a dramatic and eery driving Techno track with an atmosphere akin to early British IDM releases but with a more dancefloor-focused approach. Dimensions is punctuated by warped mechanical percussive fx, pummeling drums and relentless groove highlighted by a simple yet effective melodic line which boldly opens things up and cuts through the complex layering of sound as the track evolves. On the B side Sun Dogz adopts a similar soundscape, however picks up the tempo with a more Trance orientated production inspired by darker Goa/Psy styles and modern Fast-Trance productions. Hypnotic acidic lines, spatial fx and tribal percussion guide the listener to the main event. A heavily reverbed metallic hook and unique piece of sound design which takes multiple twists and turns along the course of the track. The EP wraps up a year of multiple successful releases from the label, with next year marking 10 years since the labels inception - keep an eye on things to come.

Mysterious synths ripple and swell in Kitstas Liefmans, otherworldly signals transmitting over its rolling percussion before building up to an energetic, psychedelic finish. With The Beatriarchy, she works to spotlight underrepresented artists in the music scene, having recently led a workshop at Sheffields No Bounds Festival and curated a residency at The Halley Space as part of the Orbit partnership in London. Besides her work in the booth and behind the scenes, she produces euphoric and glistening music touching on prog, trance and hard-house, already supported by artists such as Hammer, Amaliah, Kelly Lee Owens and many more.

THE MFA and Lost Language go back a good 20 years - from sweaty nights at Turnmills, to West London pub hang outs, and a subsequent 2004 release on our sister label PRECINCT, with the mighty MOTHERLOAD / SPHINX. Fast forward to 2023, and after some mutual love in the insta DM's and a very happy accident with some stems, we've finally bagged a mother-fucking original, the wonderful SPECIFIC OCEAN. Fresh from releasing their debut album "Lights Out" on Traum Schallplatten, and an accompanying live show peppered with Border Community and Precinct fan faves, our boys Ali and Rhys are clearly in fine fettle. The MFA make the best noises, and we're spoilt here. A cinematic intro gives way to a huge gated riff, the rave dial turned all the way up (natch), before the wobbliest of whistles has us all floating off into the ether. To say we are bullish on this fast n' fresh underground trance sound would be an understatement, so to have two of our current favourite producers form a parallel tag team is a dream come true, with Claire's Accessories (Underzone, Harmless) and Astral Bandit (Area 127, FEED) morphing into ASTRAL ACCESSORIES for this very special two headed snake of a remix, which "Claire" described as Post Apocalyptic Balearic. Definitely One of the Songs EP
I Promise You A Green Pigeon continues n_os knack for acidic club heat and tongue-in-cheek track titles, kicking off his Definitely One Of The Songs EP on Manual Smiles with tribal drum work and dubbed-out chords. A deep, growling bassline underpinning its acid, while sounds of nature permeate throughout before breaking down into pure organic, mystical rhythm at the halfway mark. The Belgian-born, London-based artist then drops left-field roller Definitely One Of The Songs, syncopated percussion alternating on top of a continuous kickdrum. While n_os version lives in dark basements and murky warehouses, Queer Future Club boss Azo reimagines the track for summery, open skies. She switches out its dubbed-out drumrolls for snappy snares and claps, with euphoric piano acid firmly placed behind. I try and make music that could equally be found in distant spaceships, as well as deep in the vaults of forgotten temples. Manual Smiles is a home for this kind of sound, psychedelic music rooted in the past but with sights set on the future. So happy to have Azo on board for this one, her analog acid tracks are incredible, and her version on the EP adds a fantastic extra dimension - n_o Enno Lombaertss n_o pseudonym launched the Manual Smiles imprint after a previous stint running London party collective La bonne musique. Now, he pushes tribal acid, trance and prog-infused techno with the label, so far supported by the likes of Jennifer Cardini, Roman Fluegel, Job Jobse, I.Jordan, HAAi and Priori. For this new release, n_o returns home to Brussels, recruiting Correspondant artist and Kiosk Radio resident Azo for the remix. Her inimitable, Detroit-inspired techno, acid and rave style have made her a key artist in the Belgian and French circuits, frequenting stages such as Dour, Astropolis, and Horst Festival, to name a few.

Keeping the train on the rails as we head ever further into an uncertain future, TT4 comes with another six tracks, once again gaily stretching the genre term to it's meaningful limits, mixing up new with old, fast with slow, deeper stuff with bangers. Ton TB (half of Three Drives / Greece 2000) opens proceedings with a rushy, linear, late night stomper 'Hurt You', before an OG progressive friend (first whites appeared in 92'... we signed it in 94/5' ) Frontier Man returns with a spritely hypno-tech rework from fellow, erm, man, Australian post lo-fi swashbuckler Fantastic Man. Talking of old friends, CM's 'Dream Universe' always occupied a slightly unique position within the Hooj Pantheon: as we've mentioned before, in his 1998 review of the track, DJ Mag's Ronnie Randall wrote that this was "a proper journey... but maybe all the journey's have been made now?", and we knew he was right, as far as we were feeling it... we never signed another trancer to Hooj, and never looked back (last bit = patently untrue, obvs). In early summer, Irish heavyweight Ciaran McAuley took the 2021 HEO electronic/orchestral cover and added a swathe of gleaming Emerald Isle energy, to create a fizzing, no frills peak-timer for his own sets, before passing on for our admiring gaze. Making a swift return after TT3 , Glenn Morrison has ratcheted up his and Aaya's own 'Twenty Something' into the propulsive neo psy-banger it was always meant to be, whilst welcome newcomer to the the label Jay Farina, fresh from a spring Hot Creations debut, dial things down a bit with the rolling, zoned in Balearica of 'Supernova'. Another TT3 veteran, Hansgod, rounds thing off on an altogether gentler note, as Heya bumps and builds into a hazy, MFA reminiscent throbber.

Reality Checkpoint EP
Duality Trax first opened its books in 2020 with an EP featuring Radiant Love regular Fio Fa and a remix of the year contender coming from Lisbons Violet. Since then the label has become known for its acute attention to detail, giving each release the shine it deserves while avoiding disposable practices and challenging the industry through its dedication to duality and balance, whether that be sonically or surrounding gender identity. Its really no surprise that one of house music's leading label figures Tywi was destined to make an appearance. Having started the Haws imprint in his home city of Cardiff, the labels wide-spread popularity began to gain the attention from some of the industrys most respected heads and became a breeding ground for new artists to emerge. A shared love of music resulted in tracks being shared over time and eventually DUALITY6 was born. In what will be his first full length EP, Tywi continues to join the dots between 90s house, prog, breaks and trance, with a huge remix coming from Frankfurt-based artist Maruwa. Title track Reality Checkpoint connects various styles with a modern take on progressive trance. Sonics feel as if theyve been projected from space in a kaleidoscopic mind-warping ride, coupled with the producer's impressive ear for world building soundscapes. A child of the 90s, Maruwa combines her classically trained ear with the nostalgia of her upbringing in the remix; channeling early trance records and deep, chugging rhythms into a wave of euphoria fit for peak-time. Its the first time the label has also delved head first into full trance territory, turning the intensity levels up while paying homage to both label owner and artists early musical influences. The B side opens up with Spellbound which feels like a guided tour around the cosmos, sat beside trusted travelers and embraced by everything-will-be-alright energy . The tracks interior is built around synths that feel both effortless and light as our tour guide brings us towards our final destination. The EP comes to a close with Laws Of Motion which draws upon alien electronics and a steady groove. Plucking sounds from the producer's wide ranging influences, Spellbound builds slowly with shades of leafy greens and deep oceanic blues, bringing us gently back down to earth.

Russia's Vasily Dvortsov is neoclassic musician, the man behind the 16-year-old multi-genre Orangereya podcast (where he shares his innermost thoughts and observations, and which often broadcasts live from places in Nature). You may remember him as Sunbird or from the 00's project The Orange (Emotive Sounds, Arcana, Iji, Monster, Soundlab). His most recent self-titled release was the chilled-out Swan album on the Galileo Dreams label, way back in 2015 - so this is a welcome return to the world of trance for Vasily. The 122 bpm On Transgalactic Bridge (taken from Slam Duck's Pure Progressive Vol. 3) is a wide-angle fantasy for deep minded travellers - a deep, warm and sumptuous helping of Pure Trance music with a gorgeous and understated 3-loop melody, hypnotic breakbeat fills and a husky, pointed bass line. About the song, Vasily writes "This is a rare case where I am delighted with everything about a track; the title, sound, melody, atmosphere, mixing…the inspiration appeared all of a sudden as I sat on the couch back in December 2022 - I became aware of the nobility of Space, hence the epic title."

A Strange Dream / Duplicity
In 2022 we released OTTO K's Motion in Emotion / Sea of Souls double header (LOST182), and he's back once again with another heavy split, both tracks fully loaded with their own killer remix. A STRANGE DREAM is signature OTTO K - deep and atmospheric, with a riff reminiscent of Depeche Mode at their melancholic best, while DUPLICITY takes things even deeper, with subtle melodies and ghostly vocals fading in and out of the psy-prog fog. Never name the well from which you'll never drink - and Tim Bourne says this will be his last prog-trance production (for a while) - so we're honoured that he's chosen us, remixing A Strange Dream into a sublime prog trancer.
