Back then, he only played vinyl. He played a track that I really liked. I asked him what track it is. The track was his own. After his gig, he gave me a white label vinyl record, Recycled Loops 008, with his autograph. After that, I started producing and DJing - Reekorda ─ Follow Airborne Black: https://linktr.ee/airborneblack

Adding his unmistakable touch, Brazilian powerhouse Wehbba raises the BPM with a driving remix of Conversations that propels the original into absolute peak-time territory. His version amplifies the energy with tougher drums and vocoded layers of Gandeys unique vocal, a full-bodied workout that preserves the emotional core of the track while pushing it into new dimensions. The basslines hit with hypnotic force, layered with sharp percussion and understated atmospheric details that keep the groove alive from start to finish. Together, these two tracks showcase Weirdos mastery of groove-based peak-time techno—tracks that are as compelling in structure as they are irresistible in movement. Frieder & Jakob are back with their new single Pick Your Poison, following their recent collaboration +100 with label boss and close friend Boris Brejcha. The release comes in two versions: the original mix and a special intro version – the one the duo regularly uses to open their sets, from their India tour in Pune, Goa, and Hyderabad to club shows across Germany and Europe. Their schedule remains packed: after the upcoming Fckng Serious Bus Tour with eight club stops across Germany, Frieder & Jakob will join Boris Brejcha on his Reflections Tour through South America at the end of the year. Despite the intense touring, the two producers continue to find time for the studio – and theres plenty more to come from them before the year is over. Out on October 25, Pick Your Poison captures the raw and energetic side of Frieder & Jakob. The track blends a powerful, strong bassline with sharp percussions and a hypnotic lead melody that builds tension from the very first beat. Its a perfect reflection of their current sound – harder, more driving, and made to lift the crowd into full motion. While their earlier releases leaned toward melodic house and vocal-driven atmospheres, Pick Your Poison is pure dancefloor energy: a track that doesnt wait to build up slowly, but hits straight with rhythm, groove, and attitude.

Following the resonance of About Last Night, Berlin-based artist Jil Tanner returns to ICONYC Red to deliver one of the labels final and most definitive manifestos—a powerful compilation mixed and curated by Tanner herself. Our journey opens with He Told Mes Dark Harbor (Carbon Remix), setting an electric pace for the rest of this mix. With a throbbing low end, this piece races across tunnels in search of fizzy sequences and lingering notes before overlapping with Kaiser Souzais In Excess. Another ICONYC Red stalwart, Souzai, slowly amps the tension with a series of tight string swells and meandering vocals over cascading arpeggios for a haunting apparition. He Told Me resurfaces with a vengeance on Angel Dust (BOHO Remix), where a feral bassline tears through the mix like a rogue current, twisting and mutating with unrelenting force. The chaos gives way to Soolvers Jahwe, which surges forward with pounding rhythms and bold brass flourishes—a commanding presence that refuses to be ignored. ClonesForHires Captive Mind shifts the mood into spectral territory, where disembodied voices flicker through a driving rhythm, conjuring a late-night séance of introspection and propulsion. The illusion intensifies as Rachel Raws Pineapple kicks in—a slick, hypermodern ride built on staccato hats and effervescent synth lines, each element pushing us deeper into the subterranean pulse of the mix. Coming in hot, Mafia B & Rami Paradise link up for Inside His Soul, where a heavy beat stomps is way across delectable vocal flourishes and acidic stabs until it breaks new ground for our following act. Leaving its mark with its jet-black bursts, Santiablos Mercado Sonorra moves forward as surging tides swell and crash against the frame with unbridled thrust. Blazing up, Jil Tanner deploys her celebrated About Last Night, a gargantuan rollercoaster that takes us higher with its explosive percussion and classic techno-laced synths before unveiling a gripping breakdown. As we pick up on the last curves, AQUOs Reborn Survivor (Markus Volker Remix) works its endless throbbing, coursing through uncharted terrain with its lingering wails and irresistible riff. Making a spectral apparition, Santiablos Tepetlapa sithers over tinkering hi-hats as grinding gears and malfunctioning electronics escort us across haunted halls where the ghosts of tomorrow come alive as it leads the way to our next stop. Then, without warning, we go deeper underground with ANMAs Relinquo. Between sprawling synths and its vocal laments, this piece is a downward spiral that challenges imagination with every passing beat. On our last turn, Rubinas Insomnia takes hold with its delectable chord stabs and tantalizing key strokes that rummage through gritty corners and dusty rooms before making way for our final chapter. Making a grand return thanks to Kaiser Souzais own twist, Jil Tanners About Last Night has the last say with its throwback to the heady, tribal club-sound of the aughties for a showstopping finale.

Its been a hot minute between drinks for the prodigious Paddy, but the famously known, Unknown Concept, is back in the game and were buzzing to welcome his new EP to Digital Structures. Known across the psychedelic tech world for his cheeky sound design, chunky grooves, and heavyweight basslines, Unknown Concept has carved out a sound thats unmistakably his own. Slippin on Funk EP, pushes that sonic mischief even further. These two originals arent just for dancing, theyre for losing it completely. Expect twisted rhythms and floor-shaking goodness thatll leave heads spinning (in the best way of course). And as a cherry on top? A bold new remix of EMF, a Digital Structures classic. Revamped, recharged, and ready to cause some serious damage. Enjoy!

We all feel lost and disconnected at times. Its only human. But what if these moments of uncertainty actually guide us to brighter futures? What if the barriers that exist within us are merely the ones we created ourselves. Its the same with music. Its human nature to categorize the sounds we hear and label them in a way that makes sense. But these barriers too can be broken down. And they have been, in the twenty-first installment of the annual year mix series: A State of Trance Year Mix 2024 (Mixed by Armin van Buuren).Starting with an inspirational intro narrated by none other than Moby, this 113-track, year-culminating mix is designed to push boundaries, weaving together the sounds that share a soul. Comprising productions from scene favorites such as Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, and Ben Gold, as well as those of Ferry Corsten, KI/KI and Ben Hemsley, the year mix upholds its trance legacy whilst embracing the sounds that were once given a different label.Dont let the barriers dictate the limit. Lean into them till they break, for the world beyond may add some color to yours. All together, in A State of Trance.

The most promising remedy for cold and low mood is music - and it's available in a double pack with Milk & Sugar's new "Winter Sessions 2024". On two CDs, the compilation brings together the best that the scene has to offer from the genres of House, Deep House and Electronica. Expect big names, extraordinary discoveries and special remixes. With music by Kylie Minogue, Lenny Kravitz, Rita Ora, David Guetta, Fatboy Slim, CASSIMM, Earth n Days and Purple Disco Machine, the "House Nation Mix" on CD1 is the best recipe for cold-induced dance fatigue. Also included in this year´s series, are Kelis, Andhim, Maceo Plex, Gorge, Ninetoes, Robert Owens, Josh Wink, Sailor & I and Damian Lazarus, among others, who warm hearts and make them beat faster in the "Love Nation Mix" on CD2. Mark Reeve makes his welcome return to the Drumcode fold with a powerful three-tracker ‘Far Away’. In recent years Mark Reeve has become a pivotal member of the Drumcode crew. His 2015 EP ‘Run Back’ was a standout, before he backed it up strongly with ‘Nine of You’, his collaboration with Adam Beyer that featured on A-Sides Vol.5, ensuring his place in the hearts of DC fans. As further evidence of his importance to the collective, Beyer has selected him to suit up for the inaugural Drumcode Festival happening this August in association with Awakenings. Harking back to formative times in the ‘90s when he’d frequent Sven Väth’s legendary Omen in Frankfurt, the title track to Reeve’s ‘Far Away’ is a timeless beauty, driven by a celestial melody line and emotive bass notes that lobs it into the kind of laser-kissed territory that would make even the most jaded of raves throw their arms skyward. ‘Fragile’ follows, a classy bass-driven cut that makes its mark with deep subterranean stabs and punchy kicks. Rounding out the EP is ‘Redemption’ a tougher, heads-down techno workout imbued with plenty of energy thanks to a crafty bass melody that runs throughout.
