Just when you thought it was over Perc's 2024 Resident Advisor recommended album 'The Cut Off' returns for one final EP of remixes, coming from a diverse trio of artists who take three album favourites in very different directions.First up house / techno legend and live performer extraordinaire KiNK takes 'Cold Snap' (Perc's collaboration with EAS) and moves it away from its industrial roots, giving it a UK bass feel. A sub heavy bassline pushes the remix forward as KiNK adds siren effects over the original mix's acid line. Next is modular explorer Vera Grace, serving up her breakbeat remix of 'Fett 23'. Vera's 4/4 remix of the same track was a hit when it featured on the first EP of remixes from 'The Cut Off' a year ago. This time a jabbing kick powers the remix forward as waves of industrial noise wash over the driving rhythm. Finally Slovenia's Snaga, one of Perc's favourite new artists and one of the leaders of the new wave of stripped back raw techno delivers a remix of album ambient track 'Calcify', transforming it into the perfect set opener for Perc and all other discerning DJs. A sub heavy groove leads the way as Calcify's pad chords are used just enough to connect the remix to Perc's original mix.

'Batuque Machine' sees Nina de Koning and Alfa Cornae dive into a hypnotic world of rolling percussion, sun-drenched grooves and seductive Spanish vocals. Built for sweaty dance floors and open-air summer nights, the track blends driving techno with tribal rhythms and playful Latin textures, creating something that feels equally raw and euphoric. Fresh off a string of acclaimed radio appearances and known for her energetic blend of hardgroove, Detroit techno and house influences, Nina de Koning continues to carve out her own lane with a sound that balances underground grit with festival-ready intensity. Alfa Cornae, whose productions have steadily gained support within the harder and groove-driven corners of the scene, brings his signature punchy low-end and razor-sharp percussion work to the collaboration. Heavy drums collide with swinging rhythmic patterns while the Spanish vocals drift in and out like fragments overheard at sunrise somewhere between Ibiza, São Paulo and a warehouse afterparty. There are subtle nods to both artists' love for hypnotic late-night grooves, but 'Batuque Machine' pushes things into warmer, more playful territory without losing any of its raw club energy. Released on The Factory Amsterdam, the track captures Nina de Koning and Alfa Cornae at their most infectious: fast, sexy and impossible to sit still to.
Daniel Weirdo returns to EXTIMA with yet another striking double-tracker, this time joining forces with Levique for a collaboration that blurs the lines between genres with precision and attitude. As the title suggests, Almost House is a signature crossover—sitting right at the intersection of tech house groove and peak-time techno energy. The EP opens with "Bla Bla Bla," a bold and unconventional cut driven by quirky, offbeat vocals and out-of-the-box synth work. The track builds on a smooth yet dynamic groove, effortlessly pulling the listener into its hypnotic flow while maintaining a playful but powerful character on the dancefloor. The title track, "Almost House," follows with an irresistible groove that leans deeper into its house-influenced roots while preserving the driving force of techno. With its rolling bassline, crisp drums, and infectious rhythm, it delivers a highly functional yet stylish peak-time tool designed to keep the floor locked from start to finish. Together, these two tracks showcase a refined balance between groove and energy, highlighting the artistic chemistry between Daniel Weirdo and Levique. Almost House EP stands out as a fresh and forward-thinking addition to EXTIMA's catalog—pushing boundaries while staying firmly rooted in dancefloor impact.
