Like the morning sun penetrating a Winter sky, a shimmering frost flecks the brightness of Message to Nowhere. The four tracker showcases the sound of Ruben Benabous Hyperstellar nom de plume, a sound that draws inspiration from sci-fi soundtracks and the warmer currents of electro. Refracted bleeps introduce the title piece, shorn beats cutting through glowing synthlines as the EP takes flight. Tight terse drum patterns are the launchpad from which melodies sail and swoop in Words in a Void, bittersweet strings and warbling pads bending and shifting above juddering basslines. Fellow Frenchman, and all-round electro virtuoso, The Hacker remixes Message to Nowhere. Pulling the track toward the centre of the floor, scissoring snares slice through echoing notes and silken shrouds in this machine funk remake. Temperatures rise for the close. Bold key changes and snapping rhythms gather in A Thousand Nights, a lively late evening close to a quartet of sheer quality.
Oyshers My Bad is a brooding journey through shadowy dancefloor ecstasy. Drawing from the diverse facets of Techno, the infectious grooves of indie dance, and the raw spirit of underground raves, this track weaves a web of dark energy. Deep, haunting tones collide with relentless groove, creating a sonic atmosphere that emanates both introspective and electrifying.
Founded by Robbie Redway, Mathieu Seynaeve and WaiFung Tsang, UK-based United Freedom Collective has grown into a collaborative network of diversely talented artists that includes Jordan Stephens, Falle Nioke, Eliza Shaddad, Labdi, William Rees and Facesoul, among others. WaiFung and Mathieu work as psychedelic researchers and health practitioners, so in addition to the four EPs released on Maribou States Dama Dama label, they have also created soundscapes for psychedelic therapy sessions, online yoga and breathwork channels. Influenced, in their words, by birds, trees, Buddhism, yoga, headless way meditations, Jungian analysis, Zen Taoism, Chinese plant medicines, indigeneity, Amazonian and psychedelic cultures, icaros and worldwide healing traditions. The music is eclectic, ranging from afro-inspired jazz to Chinese folk, psych-rock to dub and dance music, an ambitious and inclusive range that has already seen them work with musicians in Kenya, pointing to exciting future collabs that extend well beyond the borders of western musical traditions. Their sound was described by Clash Magazine as an aural mosaic that glitters with colour and potential, and while the sheen of the production and precision of the arrangements might seem a departure from Multi Cultis left-field endeavours, the psychedelic idealism and global connectivity make it a natural fit with the open-ended ethos of the label. On this new EP, Robbie takes the lead on production and, for the first time, sole vocal duties on all five tracks, which present a fantastic range of influences and style. Lead single Between Memories blends tropes of ecstatic dance with uplifting vocal piano house, somehow making hippie flutes fit in with Detroit strings to epic, hands-in-the-air effect. Title track Bright Patterns bridges the gap between Jungle, Jai Paul, and Jamiroquai, a fusion of funky filtered disco-house and electroclash with side-chained pop vocal hooks. Having already had radio support from KEXP, BBC6 Music (Laverne, Ravenscroft, Charles, Nemone, Letts), Jazz FM and Worldwide FM (Gilles Peterson), with a live show has recently sold out Dalston Curve Garden and The Waiting Room, London (as well as gigs at Lost Village, Blue Dot, Neon In Nature and Wilderness festivals) the young collectives future is looking exceptionally bright.
Genish is thrilled to announce the release of his much-anticipated track, Shushanna, which features a deeply moving Kurdish prayer sung by the late Savta Shushanna. This beautiful tribute honors her life and legacy, ensuring her memory lives on through music. The story behind this poignant collaboration is as heartwarming as the track itself. A good friend of Genish, Aviram, visited Genishs studio with an external hard drive containing cherished audio recordings of his grandmother singing and praying in Kurdish. These recordings were made to document her voice for the family, preserving her essence and honoring her life after her passing. Intrigued by the emotional weight of these recordings, Genish listened to them and discovered several hooks that sparked inspiration. What followed was a captivating creative process that resulted in the birth of Shushanna. Since its inception, the track has graced stages across the globe, from the vibrant atmosphere of Burning Man to the sun-soaked shores of Ibiza.

Swedens Electro Queen EMMON continues to make waves with her electrifying presence on the European music scene. After her widely celebrated comeback and an impressive run of performances across major festivals, EMMON now presents a new chapter in her sonic journey with the release of Machines (Terence Fixmer Remix) on the iconic Gigolo Records. The story began backstage at Eonly Festival in Leipzig, March 2024, when EMMON and fellow artist Terence crossed paths. After bonding over their shared love for music and a night of selfies and celebration, a surprising twist unfolded. A few days later, EMMON received a message from none other than DJ Hell, the legendary head of Deejay Gigolo Records, who had caught wind of their connection. Having been a fan of DJ Hell for over two decades, EMMON was floored by the opportunity. Hell suggested Terence remix EMMONs anthem Machines, the standout track from her award-winning album RECON. Terences remix delivers a high-energy blend of dark techno and classic EBM, transforming Machines into a powerful art piece, perfectly suited for the darker corners of the club. This release marks an exciting new collaboration that pays homage to the past while pushing the boundaries of modern electro.
Samantha Loveridge and FOTN debut on Multinotes with the mesmerizing Gravity featuring Keepa on vocals and including two remixes by label founders Lehar and Musumeci. Phil Kierans label, Phil Kieran Recordings (PKR), celebrates a major milestone with its 40th release, Artificial Analogue. This new track is set to drop on December 13th, marking an exciting new chapter for the label and for Phil himself. After several years of focusing on composing music for film - including the score for his third feature film, his music appears in the recent 2024 remake of The Crow and Daniel Glovers hit TV series The Swarm Phil returns to his roots with a release crafted specifically for the dancefloor. Artificial Analogue signals a bold shift back to the core sound that first brought him into the electronic music world. In recent months, Phil has been curating a night in Belfast called Leatherette, which explores the darker edges of electronic music. Drawing inspiration from post-punk, psychedelia, and the shadowy depths of disco, this event has heavily influenced the evolving sound of PKR. Listeners can expect more of this direction as the label forges ahead into 2024. Stay tuned for the next wave of releases on PKR, expect to hear things tuned more for the floor.
Gorgin delivers a track that masterfully walks the line between the primal and the futuristic. He draws on deep-rooted house and electro elements, creating a hypnotic rhythm that pulses with pure intensity. The tracks scorching bassline and percussive layers build tension perfectly, while its trippy vocal evokes the spirit of classic dance music anthems, subtly blending nostalgia with modern dancefloor innovation.
Acidité is a track I produced during a very quick session in my Marseilles studio in late 2023. I think the idea was to produce dance tracks that would have a certain harshness to them and sound sort of unpolished. I realize that is what I end up liking the most when it comes to dance music - when it sounds as being straight out of the home studio, with very little means and maybe some « mistakes » left here and there for the sake of it. Acidité revolves around 3 main ingredients - a Behringer TD3 riff (the Behringer cheap reincarnation of the legendary TB303), a conga loop and an iconic JB funk stab sample. It segues midway into a more trancey and motoric tunnel like techno track, driven by a « lately bass » straight line.

Electronic music producer Jarl Flamar has unveiled his highly anticipated remix of Bambooks track Ubuntu, transporting listeners on a mesmerizing sonic expedition through the Middle East. This fresh interpretation reimagines the original, focusing on deep, rolling basslines that provide a solid foundation for the track. Soft, ethereal Arabic vocals float above the mix, creating an enchanting atmosphere that captures the regions essence.
Sordid Sound System made a storming entrance on Special place by remixing Treasure Islands track No Loss. He returns to the label with his own productions, showing his mastery in the assembly of sonic atmospheres. Every element seems to fall right into place, every sound triggers yet another emotion. This EP is the closest that Sordid has come to flirting with the 1980s. Throughout its duration, you can hear the sonic imprint of early 80s neo-noir cinema such as Bladerunner, Scarface, and Escape From New York. The Great Psychic Outdoors is a masterpiece imbued with the DNA of the bastard lovechild of John Carpenter and The Cure. One of those tracks you could play on a tape loop for hours. Because it feels intriguing and frightening, but draws you in. Just like hiding away in a tree house and watching the world from above on a rainy day. I Dream Of Electric Sheep delivers Sordids so-called motorik dub, one foot in disco, one foot in the Caribbean, with a nod to Compass Point classics by the likes of Talking Heads and Grace Jones. Like the rest of this EP, these qualitative sounds called for a stellar remixer. With close to a hundred remixes under the belt for artists ranging from Radiohead to Isolée or Romanthony and a massive catalogue of productions that dared to leave dance music for ambient sonic explorations, Ripperton was the perfect pick. His reimagining of I Dream of Electric Sheep transports us into daring dreamlike realms of rhythmic exploration, Deckards beat-up Spinner escapes the smog of the dystopian city for the clouds high above. And to close us out with a vital burst of cracked up mechanical energy, David, Im Just A Curious Soul brings searing phantasmagorical acid-house to the imaginary dancefloor of a late 80s warehouse party on the lower East side of New York.
