Summer is officially here, and FTTF 49 is back with four essential tracks crafted for peak-season dancefloors. Blackloud sets the tone with "And Then What," opening the EP with jumping high notes and a driving, check-the-bass foundation. "Cusp Generation" from Indie Elephant drops next, delivering the perfect blend of heavy kicks, disco flavors and open-air sunshine vibes. "Strings Anthem" from Leblanc brings a cheeky, late-night attitude - creeping through the club like a lizard with a rolling bassline that locks you in. Closing out the package, "Momento" from Bermani steps in with sunglasses on, shaking from left to right to deliver the ultimate laid-back, sun-drenched finale. Forget your problems, embrace the warmth and let the music take over.

Thessaloniki is a hotbed of electronic talent. Tendts are testament to this. The triumvirate of brothers Christos and Fotis Papadakis, joined by guitarist Elias Smilios, have carved out a truly unique sound. Blending disdainful punk with synthpop sheen, the group arrive at the Bordello with Ghost Boys. Cymbals crash in the title piece, a lone key circling percussive precipitation before rich guitar strings bring balance and ballast. The song, an emotionstripped story of missed opportunities and narrowing prospects, is sensitive and sharp; an emblazoned anthem to the lost and forgotten. Distilled down to a powerful essence, the radio version focuses on the throaty message, meandering synth melody, and smoky strings. Lauer steps in for remix duties, dipping the original into a blue acidelectro syrup before it reemerges as a freshfaced reimagining, its chorus lanced with vocoders while a minimal melody simmers beneath Chicagostyle knob twists. Taking another direction, Boys Shorts melt brokenbeat revelry into their countrymens original. Smilios guitar riff becomes a central column around which samples spin and house warmth emanates. Sheer quality from needle drop.

'Sweden's Disco prince follows up releases on Gerd Janson's Running Back, Misfit Melodies and his own Storkenland with a collaborative slammer built alongside Disco aficionado farfetch'd. Together, the duo join forces and roll out 'Buffdisco' - a powerful slice of lights-on Disco that glistens with an iridescent charm and comes backed up with a remix from Krystal Klear. Loose but muscular drums and a sturdy sub forge out the track's path; cowbells, claps and a full-bodied kick all locked in their pockets while an undeniably killer hi hat peppers the groove with flair and flourish. A flanged Italo sequence bubbles in the belly of the record while bold, spirited chords drum up a hefty sense of fervour. A feeling of the penultimate builds; a sense of near-zenith energy that snowballs towards a breakdown that allows the floor to take a breather. The accelerator is gently pushed again, drums snapping away while melodies are set soaring throughout a beautifully theatrical conclusion. That same peak-time energy floods the veins of the remix which sees Krystal Klear following up his recent collaboration with Skream on Circoloco with another example of his eminently charming floor sorcery. The vibe remains giddy and colourful, anchored by elastic, techy drums. Stabs pop while strings soar and the piano rolls. Momentum starts laddering up and up as a thick wall of ecstatic sound reaches a triumphant conclusion - just the ticket for DJs looking to close things up in style'
