Like the morning sun penetrating a Winter sky, a shimmering frost flecks the brightness of Message to Nowhere. The four tracker showcases the sound of Ruben Benabous Hyperstellar nom de plume, a sound that draws inspiration from sci-fi soundtracks and the warmer currents of electro. Refracted bleeps introduce the title piece, shorn beats cutting through glowing synthlines as the EP takes flight. Tight terse drum patterns are the launchpad from which melodies sail and swoop in Words in a Void, bittersweet strings and warbling pads bending and shifting above juddering basslines. Fellow Frenchman, and all-round electro virtuoso, The Hacker remixes Message to Nowhere. Pulling the track toward the centre of the floor, scissoring snares slice through echoing notes and silken shrouds in this machine funk remake. Temperatures rise for the close. Bold key changes and snapping rhythms gather in A Thousand Nights, a lively late evening close to a quartet of sheer quality.

After her widely celebrated comeback and an impressive run of performances across major festivals, EMMON now presents a new chapter in her sonic journey with the release of Machines (Terence Fixmer Remix) on the iconic Gigolo Records. The story began backstage at Eonly Festival in Leipzig, March 2024, when EMMON and fellow artist Terence crossed paths. After bonding over their shared love for music and a night of selfies and celebration, a surprising twist unfolded. A few days later, EMMON received a message from none other than DJ Hell, the legendary head of Deejay Gigolo Records, who had caught wind of their connection. Having been a fan of DJ Hell for over two decades, EMMON was floored by the opportunity. Hell suggested Terence remix EMMONs anthem Machines, the standout track from her award-winning album RECON. Terences remix delivers a high-energy blend of dark techno and classic EBM, transforming Machines into a powerful art piece, perfectly suited for the darker corners of the club. This release marks an exciting new collaboration that pays homage to the past while pushing the boundaries of modern electro.

Two years ago, after Covid sent the industry into a tailspin I made the sad decision to stop pressing Holding Hands records to vinyl. This was gutting as the label had been putting records out from the first release and it had always felt like an integral part of the labels identity. It sucked but I always hoped that in the future I would be able to feel confident in pressing records again and I am so happy to say that the time has finally come again! Earth Trax popped into my inbox with some demos and I instantly knew there was something special here. The tracks are absolutely timeless and will do the business on any dancefloor from now until the end of time. The A sides have more of loopy club quality that you could listen to all night. The sort of thing that you just lose yourself to when it comes on in the club. You arent sure exactly when it came on but you suddenly realise that youve been gurning with your eyes closed for some indeterminate amount of time. Basically, theyre very chewy loops (note to self: potential cereal idea). The B sides have more of a.for lack of a better word, B side quality to them. Theyre both broken and they make me want to move my body from side to side in a sort of jagged cool 80s way. Ones to make you move and think at the same time. OK enough of my blather. Go and listen to the damn things yourself and decide if you like them, rather than trying to work it out from reading a bloody press release you weirdos. All four tracks are produced and sculpted for the club. They want big sound systems and dark rooms. Close your eyes, hold hands and experience transcendental space flight...

Eevo Lute originator Wladimir M. shares another chapter of his precious techno poetry. When I was nine years old, I heard Funkytown on the radio of the pool attendant over and over again. I still go to that pool. In the mid-eighties, everyone at my high school knew Dont Go. And I turned sixteen, or seventeen. And was blown away by the bass line of Los Ninos Del Parque. I heard it for the first time in the dark, one of the first times in that discotheque. The bass line was so atypical that I kept losing it, there in that stuffy classroom where a teacher was telling us about economics. And where Peter, who was sitting next to me, was talking about Computer World. And further away there was Chicago House, little did we know. I was born for it. Wladimir M. (1968), 2024

While it retains the aesthetic Felix is known for, the slower pace allows each track to unfold more gradually, drawing the listener into hypnotic and immersive atmospheres.

Radioactive Man (Keith Tenniswood) presents his 6th album Jam Out The Kicks released on self-operated label Asking For Trouble this November 28th. Written while immersed in the throes of touring over the last four years - the album showcases Tenniswoods singular sound, honed for the international dance floors that he is charged with. Jam Out The Kicks will be released on a triple 12 vinyl package with artwork by renowned artist Lung. Working together UK rave, jungle, breakbeat and Detroit electro and techno the album plays between these different genres and styles. It brings the grit, joy, grime and funk but also with a big lot of heart in its sensitive softer elements and moments. Opening track Under The Counter has been the lead to his live performances - soft and gleaming and with deep warm bass tones its his reset track to set the tone for the set. We then move into slap bass funk on See Above and through the many sounds on the release - from dense textured and kicking techno to bass heavy rave. Curveball on the release is Sinkhole starting out as a collaboration with Suade Bergemann, vocallists Ali Love and Chloe Raunet (C.A.R) both put their touch on it. Its just one example of Radioactive Mans desire not to want to be held down to any one sound and to always be developing and moving forward. 2024 also saw the UK producer put out I Dont Want This Sort Of Thing in My House EP with Ben Pest on Asking For Trouble and the release of a long lost Two Lone Swordsmen album Still My World on Rotters Golf Club for Record Store Day in April. Jam Out The Kicks is the UK producers first solo LP since 2017s Luxury Sky Garden, which also saw the launch and beginnings of Asking For Trouble. Since he has nearly exclusively released his own productions on AFT and that of his close and respected friends and peers having full creative control. Live sets in 2024 have seen him take in South America, Sydneys Royal Opera House, Bonanza Festival, in the jungle of Colombia, to Dimensions in Tisno, Croatia to Craig Richards Houghton Hall, which saw him debut his first Live / AV set of his career. 2025 will see him tour the A/V show in the UK and Europe (to be announced). 2024 - More traveling and playing live around the planet than ever before, the time has come to stop deliberating and actually release some of this music. The album has been made in reverse, live jams and sequences are then taken into the studio and developed into trax. An interesting if long way to go around crafting these mostly dancefloor tunes. Hence this album has taken 4 years to develop and finally nail. I wanted it to keep the feel of a live set - rough, raw and constantly changing - Radioactive Man

Next up is Rhizomatic Heartbreak, a melodic, thoughtful, drum-centered track with aggressive low end, flavoured with a generous dash of techno seasoning in a palate of electronica. We move into Hanging In The Balance, which raises the tension and the temperature another notch; a masterpiece in sound design and progression. This track should come with a *DANGER* warning. Conflict kicks things off with hypnotic bass and EBM-inspired drums to lift your dark mood. Next up is Tension, a dry electro song as it should be. The next release on Ara-us No Static / Automatic comes from Konerytmi aka Kiril Junolainen. The Konerytmi project began in 2020 combining electro, techno and acid sounds with a gliding and clean-edged production aesthetic. On Moottoritie EP he channels in the energy and flow of traversing the speed-limitless autobahn while giving a cool nod to the aesthetic of Scandinavian electro sounds a la Stilleben Records. First track Japanin-Automoto rolls in on a punchy groove, and builds itself up on squelching melodies, celestial synths and singing vocoders. Moottoritie was one of the first tracks produced under the Konertymi alias over 4 years ago (as is Vainio) and brings in the essence of a motorway experience as it speeds in with screeching sounds and bounces onwards on a melodic and playful baseline. The pace ups with Tranmitteri, a driving and punching peak time number with a turning and evolving acid melody line. Vainio takes us onwards to a darker and deeper destination, with a tunnelling intensity to close the EP - mixing tightly formed beats with song-like melodies as is the foundation of this surgically crafted release.
Thousand Yard Stare is re:nis 3rd 12 and her first on re:lax, the label and club-night she runs with Laksa. Following on from records from Harba, Jurango and Laksa, the ep stays true to the imprints exploration of emotive high-tempo club records which marry the character and energy of the hardcore continuum with technical precision and slick sound design. With her distinguished alien vocal chops its proper GET IN UR HED business. The title is a nod to the dissociative state we can find ourselves in as a result of trauma, and how creativity/music is able to illustrate emotions that words cannot. Sonically the ep is continuation of the bass-driven, vocal-led 140-150bpm territory explored on her Timedance and Ilian Tape records, this time more explicitly drawing on inspiration from electro, drill and jungle in the dynamic drum programming, growling 808 bass and icy snares that feature across the 3 tracks.

The prolific Jonny Dillon aka Automatic Tasty from Wicklow, Ireland, should be familiar to most with an interest in acid inspired electronic music. 15 years of releases on such luminary labels as Acid Waxa, Further Electronix, Lunar Disko, Wrong Island and CPU, his debut release on Winthorpe is an 8 track LP of stylish and subtle machine braindance titled One Foot in the Rave. The LP is a vibrant collection of tracks that showcase Jonnys signature styles - melodic melancholic acid jams, bleepy funk and warm analog electronics. Suitable for the stero or the soundsystem, from the upfront bounce of The Apocalypse is Now and Raymond Tuesdays Big Day Out to the shimmering reverb of Starry Night and birdsong of Ringfort were in familiar Tasty psychedelic terrain According to the man himself What to say about this record? I dont really know and it hardly matters. I wrote them on different bits of gear; ye olde faithful Roland SH101, my MC202 (pencil and paper de rigeur), a battered x0xb0x 1.0 (thx Daniel!), a beloved Yamaha Cs-5, a similarly beloved Roland SH5, a truly hammered Juno106, a Roland JX3P, a Nord something or other, an MPC2500, my TR606, and a Vermona DRM1 MKII being sequenced via a bedraggled TR626. Also Jays TR808 is on there (thx Jay!) and a TR8 being squashed through a Mutronics Mutator (wheee Damo!) and a Zoom H4n recorder. I edited them on a dilapidated laptop, with no headphones or monitors, steering by the tiny speakers on the computer and playing them in my car, twiddling the mix as I went. But these are frivolous and unimportant details. All that matters is that these songs were made out of love. Cheerio, Jonny. P.s.: This record is dedicated to Jay Winthorpe Kelly. One Foot in the Rave is out on Vinyl / Digital 14th October

After release Dark Vibrations, Colombian producer Magnum Opus is back to us with a new EP Area Zero. Four genre compositions are accentuating the general rhythm on a kick drum beats and harsh sequences of the bass parts. Opening up is Scythe, with beat lost in a mix of jittery dark synths and powerful snare. The centre piece though, is the FM arps, which cut through the inviting darkness and general purpose. This is a captivating track that goes way beyond the dance floor: brilliant futuristic banger with a bright hypno sound.
Electric Appliances are back with a strong 3-tracker from label favourites Klas Lindblad aka Freestyle Man, Alberto Ess and their brand new collaboration project Mathtronix. All 3 songs are very diverse and show their love for different vibes of electronic music over the years. The collaboration Uranus Imploding is hard electro at its finest, while Computer Control has a more chill, 80s inspired electro sound with hints of early Warp sounds. Finally, the EP ends with Quantum Warfare by Lindblad, a stroll through mid-90s Braindance Park with colourful mushrooms everywhere.

V10 is the brainchild of Seoul-based producer PRIMIT, the mastermind behind the remarkable label Resentment Nation. This electrifying project carries an insatiable hunger for high-speed energy that sets it apart from the rest. Unlike some electro music that tries too hard to be edgy but ends up feeling nerdy, V10 exudes a sense of authenticity both inside and outside the bedroom studio. It invites listeners to embrace lifes thrilling, unpredictable adventures. Drawing inspiration from high-octane experiences like speeding through the streets of Seoul on a motorbike, PRIMITs V10 is an unmistakable nod to the powerful F1 Ferrari V10 engine. Featuring 10 adrenaline-fueled tracks, the music captures the essence of speed, danger, and explosiveness. PRIMIT expertly fuses elements of breakbeat, techno, and the iconic sound of Electro Punk, reminiscent of a gritty fusion between Three Six Mafia and cutting-edge electro production. Pushing the boundaries even further, PRIMIT seamlessly incorporates nu-metal influences, evoking the likes of Korn, Limp Bizkit, and Papa Roach. While this sound might not cater to everyones taste, theres no denying its raw intensity and head-turning brilliance.
Maelstrom returns to Central Processing Unit for the fourth time, and its the one born Joan-Mael Peneaus lengthiest drop on the Sheffield label yet. The French artist has been a mainstay in the European electro game since the 2000s, and Malestrom brings that experience to bear on new LP The FM Tapes. He goes about this album with the assurance of a seasoned pro, combining his mastery of electro production techniques with a trademark guile to craft an expertly-paced eleven-track affair. The first section of The FM Tapes sets out the albums stall with style and aplomb - listeners are in store for a rich feast of off-kilter machine-funk which will feature no shortage of intriguing detours. On opener Ondes Courtes the mix throbs with all manner of strange electronic gristle: a distorted bass hum rattles the monitors; wisps of distortion float across the mix; eerily pretty keys wax and wane before giving way to a radar pulse. Ondes Courtes is an ominous slouch of a scene-setter, and it lines things up perfectly for following cut Alt50ser to lock in. This tracks churning, gurgling mid-tempo rattle brings to mind the wacky insistence of Modeselektor. Maelstrom repeats the slow-fast one-two again directly afterwards - La Vie Sociale Des, a strange nugget that sounds like an early Eski instrumental stripped for parts and blasted into the cosmos, is an ideal prelude to the twitchy space-funk of My Digitone. Maelstroms staying power in the electro world comes, in no small part, from his ability to apply his delightfully idiosyncratic choices to some of the genres staple production tropes. On The FM Tapes, he marks himself out once more as a pleasingly unorthodox talent by taking tracks in unexpected directions to produce surprising - and often rather moving - results. There are multiple cuts here which channel the more cerebral end of Richard D. James AFX/Analord output: My Digitone may be a quicksilver techno-electro number, but theres still something cinematic about the synth treatment here which softens the edges; Suedes minor-key oscillations bring other CPU veterans like Cygnus and Bochum Welt into view; Res 06, one of two Fasme collaborations on the record, is full of pathos even as the beat programming bangs and whirrs throughout. While theres a deep emotional undercurrent to The FM Tapes, though, Maelstroms commitment to bringing the thrills surfaces time and again. If Res 06 had Maelstrom and Fasme getting wistful, the albums other Fasme link-up Trempo is one of the hardest club joints here, a piece of old-school Detroit energy replete with some great cascading drum production. Indeed, Trempo comes in the middle of a run towards the albums end where Maelstrom takes the handbrake off - theres a wild-eyed sense of fun to The Operator and Upside Down DX7 which has one thinking of the zany cut-and-thrust of KiNKs best work. Maelstroms latest drop for Sheffields Central Processing Unit label is an album of leftfield electro numbers that bring both pounding beats and poignant production. RIYL: KiNK, Modeselektor, Cygnus, Bochum Welt, AFX

UFC presents Cybernetic Implant, its seventh release, an EP where electro and cyberpunk go hand in hand with hardware equipment for a trip to an unpromising future. The Ep consists of six tracks, three originals mixes produced by Atico Corp. and three remixes by producers Hd Substance, 7053M4R14 and Robot City. In the three original tracks we find three different visions of electro where broken and sharp rhythms are mixed with bursts of synthesizers, atmospheres and samples that refer directly to less optimistic science fiction. On the other side we have the three remixes where each artist contributes their particular vision by reimagining the tracks in their studios directly from their hardware gear. Synthesizers, drum machines and hardware effects are once again invited to the journey. Welcome this time not to a credible future, but to a dystopian future.

PLOT is Pure unadulterated bass, with RLGN delivering a filthy and unforgiving thugged out remix of 3am Base.

Handing over the controls to well-known figure of the German and Georgian electronic scenes in the persons of .VRIL and HVL, our next installment finds the pair laying down a quintet of hybrid electro and techno weapons that sends us straight back to the heyday of Rephlex and like-minded visionary ventures. All in that stark contrast between ethereal spaciousness and steely, martial rhythms out the industrial spectrum, Far Field takes us on a voyage across the board, from breaks-heavy machine stunts to washed-out tapestries, via EBM-laced detours and junglistic maneuvers. Investigating the nexus zone between dance functionality and limitless escapology, it extrapolates both artists blends to further immersive, hypnotic effect. Taking over the A side, .VRIL gets the ball rolling with Lost Together, which sets the tone on a low-slung, nostalgia-drenched note; combining the syncopated swagger of downtempo techno with ambient-oid stasis and static-filled opacity. Like watching an all-metal sun sinking past the blazing skyline. Revving up the engines, Fnord feat. RYN conjures up a way more muscular arsenal of big-room-ready wares, from aggro snare salvos to anthemic synth kinetics, through that replicant-hunting kinda vibe. One to have the Saturn rings go hula hoop, with all woofers and brains in the vicinity melting in XTC. Shutting the A side off, We Believe returns to a lighter, more vaporous mindset but sure implements that signature heavy swing of .VRIL, flush with textured kicks and FX-soaked arps. True monster prog swell. Flip it over and theres HVL dishing out a textbook example of his vortical electronic furls with the title-track, Far Field - an oneiric drift that slowly rises from its heavy-lidded slumber, ascending towards bleepin n bloopin experimental effervescence as bars fly by. A number bound to hack your body and mind into two distinct facets, and while one dances its way frantically across the ever buzzing space/time continuum, the other shall reach a state of healing calm and transcending ubiquity. Smoothly shuttling us off to the upper layers of the ionosphere, Lancet Mxi clenches it on a trippy note, taxiing us midway zero-G UK bass territories and eerie ambient abstraction. HVLs total, widescreen vision at its most unhindered, all set at expanding your mind to yet uncharted horizons of sound and closing the gap between two distant, estranged galaxies. A fractured headspace to both dance and dream to.

From one of the masters of the wonky techno sound Lukes Anger continues in full form with his tight yet askew playful beats. SOD-90 comes in next with Saving Up For Botox with his fearless punk take on the electro sound - his own brand of high intensity atmospherics mixed with distorted synth lines, vocals and kicking breaks. Cultivated Electronics Steve Allman leads the B Side with This is Not A Dream calling on driving hoover bass and haunting synths in classic UK electro style. For the B2 Mal_Hombre takes the EP down a deeper and more spatial path with Triangulation with delicately detailed and propulsive techno, a long time friend of the label whose debut album Andromeda Outpost released on Jeff Mills iconic Axis Records. Topping the whole thing off Berlin based producer and Avoidant alumni Parand delivers the final hit with Bloc - a powerful, pitch black, driving heads down moment.
