It is bad when one thing becomes two. One should not look for anything else in the Walk Of The Panther. It is the same for anything that is called a Walk. If one understands things in this manner, he should be able to hear about all ways and be more and more in accord with his own. Fifteenth single for 2025 and weve got a stunning 2 tracks EP by superb Spanish producers Andrew Fx and TheDjBass!! Two massive tracks with uplifting dancefloor vibe, oldskool aesthetics, acidic drop and spacey mood!!! This is the sound of tomorrow, the sound of Architektur Records. Breaks from another dimension for your dancing pleasure!!

This Breaks Us is the first official compilation from Voyce Records, bringing together a powerful roster of sonic agitators, rhythm tacticians, and underground storytellers. Featuring 8 original tracks by 9 artists, this VA spans the fringes of breakbeat, experimental electronica, and lo-fi dancefloor energy. Across its runtime, This Breaks Us captures the sound of a new generation disrupting the norm. From the glitch-washed emotion of Abiko and aelbn, to the raw circuitry of Ceziki, and the genre-bending collaborations of DZeon, MuLine, and Kinetic Horse, every track speaks to collapse and resistance — beauty in the breakdown. Seasoned voices like Peach Blok, Indraa, and The 13th Note add depth with textured grooves and heavy atmospheres, giving this VA a sense of both origin and future. This is more than a collection of tracks — This Breaks Us is a fractured mirror reflecting a world on edge, crafted by those who choose sound over silence, and rhythm over repetition.
Abiko, aelbn, Ceziki, D'Zeon, Indraa, Muline, Peach Blok, The 13th Note
Reel By Reals Surkit is a Detroit techno classic that has gained mythical status since it first appeared on a limited white label release on Juan Atkins Metroplex offshoot, Interface in 1990. Giving a spotlight back to this highly sought after 12 we are pleased to team up with French vinyl specialists, Yoyaku and present this timeless record, remastered and remixed for 2025. In keeping with the tracks early Detroit roots we feature remixes from Motor City legends Keith Tucker (aka DJ-K1) and Strand, with added dubplate pressure provided by DnB lynchpin, Calibre. Further remix support also comes from a UK-Detroit triumvirate of EPMs Oliver Way and Ben Long (Space DJz) and Jon Dixon (UR). Detroit techno veteran Martin Bonds aka Reel By Real remains one the citys most under the radar yet influential Detroit techno producers. Often uncredited when it comes its history, he was a frequent collaborator with the Belleville Three (Juan Atkins / Kevin Saunderson / Derrick May) and you might recall him from the classic Marty Hardy mixes on KMS. However, it was in 1993 that Surkit was to have a profound impact on the Drum n Bass scene when LTJ Bukem lifted the main synth line from the track and used it on his game-changing Atlantis (I Need You). Again uncredited, Martin Bonds production craft helped to spearhead the UK liquid scene that put Bukem front and centre. Now its time to put Reel By Real back under the lights as we celebrate this Detroit techno masterpiece. With a fresh remaster for todays dancefloors from Lad @ Caduceus Studios on both the 1990 original and 1991 remix we also present 5 remixes to add extra shine on this glorious gem. As the man behind Puzzlebox Records, Optic Nerve, DJ-K1, Alien FM and former member of Aux88, Keith Tucker should need little introduction to anyone with an interest in Detroit techno and electro. Here he teams up with Strand (the Detroit group comprised of Brian Bonds (Martins brother), Brian Boyer and Kech Harrington) to deliver three faithful remixes that keep the originals deep Detroit spirit burning bright. Northern Irelands Dominick Martin, better known as Calibre is highly regarded for his influence on the liquid funk style of drum and bass, which was partially named after his distinct production style. So in keeping with the tracks double genre influence he gets his hands on Surkit, but this time, takes a turn into UK garage territory with a mix of 2-Step sonic brilliance. Finally EPMs Oliver Way, Ben Long (Space DJz) and Jon Dixon get their hands dirty with a dark and tough techno excursion that crowns this homage to one of technos most under-acknowledged greats. The title Surkit was a play on the name of the synth patch (circuit) that I programmed/edited in the Kawai sound module used for the topline in the track. I am impressed with the production & mastering of all the remixes, and the remastering of the original tracks on this upcoming release. Many thanks to EPM & Yoyaku for approaching me with the concept and making it come to fruition. Martin Bonds / Reel by Real

For anything to thrive for an extended period of time, diversity is necessary. The natural world is built upon this principle but it is also true of thought, culture and art. In many ways it is the antithesis of monoculture, which by definition is formulaic, stale and incapable of new perspectives. For creativity to remain healthy it needs to be woven from countless strands of differing ideas. Elements that when taken as a whole, create art that is vibrant, robust and vital.
PENGSHUi Announce Explosive New Album GUTS with Fierce First Single Psycho Eyes. Psycho Eyes was written alongside longtime collaborator Pete Cannon, serving as a nod to PENGSHUis electronic and rave roots. MC Illamans signature ferocious and aggressive vocal delivery perfectly matches the relentless energy of the rolling drums, electrifying synth lines, and heavy bass, keeping the intensity high from start to finish.
After the resounding success of Davdcases debut single for Lowering The Tone Work That, we decided to pull in some remixes for an alternative spin on this cult classic. First up is LTTs fan favourite and all round creative machine Ettica who delivers a blistering beat heavy interpretation; with its gritty breaks and warm atmosphere which harks back to the real early days of Jungle (before the tempo ramped up). You can almost hear the windows rattling while in a queue at some illegal warehouse rave in East London circa 1990. Next to step up to the plate, good friend of the label EVL TOM (AKA Tom Beaufoy) one half of the legendary breakbeat duo, Evil Nine. Tom takes us on a journey with perfect use of the original parts, twists and turns a plenty, expertly bringing up the intensity and then pulling back with a reprieve consisting of lush strings & psychedelic overtones, before heading straight back down into the heavy groove that only a seasoned DJ/Producer knows how to execute to full effect. Yet another cracking release from the home of Underground Breakbeat, Techno & Beyond. Enjoy
Lead single from forthcoming single - Toupaz returns to Control Freak with a 4 track EP of intricate club weapons. Unwind & Dissolve Gently showcases the Graz-based artists distinctive production flair - one which has developed in style and sophistication since his last outing on CF in 2022 as Awo Ojiji with subsequent releases via Well Street, Grid and Danielles Soft Raw imprint. This collection draws heavy influence from the rich history of the UK scene - from the dubstep-leaning lurch of Ramshackle to the introspective electronica of closing track Whats The Mass of Memory? Balancing a delicate and subtle sense of melody and restraint with blunt force moments of controlled aggression, Toupazs precision sound engineering is guaranteed to send any discerning dancefloor into a frenzy - perfect for those explosive mid-set left turns.
The unknown- untitled imprint returns for a six-track EP engineered for dark rooms and tight mixes, channeling a raw, high-energy sound with anonymity at its core. As always, the producers remain unnamed until the digital release on May 30th, following the vinyl release on May 16th. unknown - untitled is a producer and DJ as well as concept-led label founded in 2020. The imprint lets the quality of the track - rather than the artist - dominate the experience, with previews for each release shared without artist details, only revealing names on the record sleeve. Across the EP, expect a full-spectrum club experience - from brooding halftime beats to razor sharp percussive workouts. A1 sets the tone with a lurching techy stepper that mutates mid-to-late 00s minimal D&B motifs into something altogether more sinister. A2 keeps the break-forward sound moving, with a high energy unit shifter. A3 rides a locked groove mentality from the jump, before saturated leads and ethereal strings elevate it to a track with huge personality. B1 is a system rattling, cinematic juggernaut. Earth shattering kicks, squelchy percussion, and spring-loaded snares complement occasional slasher movie strings. B2 is an adrenaline shot, with a Hot Pants-like break and siren synths creating an unerring, laser-focused energy. B3 subverts expectations-what starts as a footwork-indebted intro dissolves into dubbed-out breaks and pulsing low-end, before a late-stage 4/4 march drives things home.

Guava returns to Faux Poly as the first artist to release a second EP on the label: All Out. The lead single is Wilga, an enticing electro heater featuring shuffling 808s, breakbeats, and spoken female vocals, representing Guavas shift into faster, Techno-focused territory all whilst breaking up the EP with his immersive signature oscillating Dub-Techno-esque atmospherics. This track and the upcoming EP open a new chapter for Guava as he embraces the weight and velocity of the dancefloor without sacrificing his signature playfulness. The result is a dynamic, high-energy follow-up that solidifies his evolving sound making All Out the perfect next step for both the artist and the label.
Sicilian producer HLRTY is a leading light of the new generation of Italian Club producers, alongside rapidly rising stars such as a COIDO, Ethik and Fabio FC (aka Was A Be). Combining elements of distorted Electro, Jersey Club and floor-shaking Techno, this new wave is making some of the most exciting dancefloor music around at the moment. GANZO itself is a slang term for a cool, shrewd and generally on-point person or thing - and coincidentally, this is maybe the first time someone Ive met at a show has sent me tracks and theyve instantly blown me away. All these tracks have been highlights in my set for the last year or so, and Im incredibly excited to help get them out into the world. VENALE has an infectious bounce, built around a single chopped-and-screwed vocal cut and the biggest kick since Timbaland brushed dirt off Jay Zs shoulder. This is Club music with a twist - its not trying to imitate the originators, but rather add a different - and complimentary - flavour to that incredibly inspiring soup. BITCH MODE is a perfect example of doing more with less - and as a result has been one of the peaks of my set for a hot minute. Sitting up around 150bpm and leaning fully into the redlining is headlining aesthetic, BITCH MODE is Charli XCX doing the Percolator in Palermo. On PCP. TALKINGSH#T brings luscious rave chords and Sheffield bleeps into the HLRTY-verse, with a more chopped-up beat adding heft doses of syncopation and funk. Not quite breaks, not quite club, but totally infectious. ANSIOGENO feels like Acid Rave and UK Funky had a child at 148bpm. Straight in from beat 1, the unique arrangement takes listeners and dancers alike on a journey through chunky intensity, culminating in a unique wobbling bassline guaranteed to fry brains and feet. OTRAVEZ feels like a Miami Bass track got lost somewhere in Southern Europe - heavy bass pressure meets twisted vocals and a sweaty electro bounce. Absolutely undeniable on a soundsystem! On PCP. Bonk is back. PLUS ONEs Bonk conquered the world in 2025 as a consistent feature in festival sets by scene luminaries Fourtet, Ben UFO, Caribou, and Bicep to name a few. The track now gets new life just in time for the summer festival season with some official remixes by some friends of the Ar Ais Arís camp: Fresh off the release of his superb new album, Aeoui, Breaka pushes the bpm up into vibey electro territory with a fizzly re-work over a somewhat iconic bassline. Next up, Sputnik One slows things down and leans heavy into that pringles every night sample over the biggest bass drum of the year.
Rose Ryot steps up to the plate, giving Will Clarkes Be My Baby a fresh spin as he swaps chilled house motifs for a raw, breakbeat-driven energy. With crashing drums, rich synth harmonies and Hayley Mays unmistakable vocals taking centre stage, this remix brings a warmer, more expansive feel to the original.
You all know about Chicago breakbeat legend Keith MacKenzie, dont you? Well, if not, you should, so heres where to get to know. Hes got decades in the game, hundreds of releases, and his own influential Illeven:Eleven label smashing it internationally. And its been a couple of years since we last saw Keith on Hot Cakes, so the anticipation is ramped right up. Fortunately, its Keith MacKenzie on production so, of course, Run It Back lives up to its promise. Taking us on a journey through lush atmospheres, the science of vocal and break manipulation, and heavyweight basslines, this track just keeps evolving into ever-more colours and flavours. Unmissable. For licensing & label enquiries, please contact Martin Flex: martin@hotcakesmusic.com
As we welcome Dubstep pioneer Distance to Artikal who delivers his remix of Darkai & Ears Gems. Distances Souljah remix is a throwback to the early days of Dubstep with an old skool break step style with brand new production with that signature Distance sound.
Suddenly the signal breaks. A violent white hiss screaming though the studio monitors. Somebody rushes through the door the police have entered the building. Immediately we grab our records and make for the stairs. It used to be a school I think, it was old and big. No one was even sure if the DTI knew we were operating from it and it was possible it was just a raid on the squatters who lived there. Nevertheless, we all piled onto the roof, laughing nervously about how stupid it all was. After some time without incident, we ventured cautiously back into the bowls of the old building. The studio was as we had left it, untouched, undiscovered. We knew somewhere across the city a crew would be working to re-establish the signal. Wed be back on the airwaves before morning.
