Romanian producer Kidoo makes his BotaniQ debut with Input 1, a three-tracker out 1st May that fuses deep grooves with minimal textures. Known for his deft production and precise rhythms, he delivers a mature, club-ready sound that dovetails seamlessly with Dennis Cruz's vision for the label: immersive, dancefloor-focused music with a nod to the future. The EP opens with Small Talk, a hypnotic cut layered with understated percussion and a rolling low end. Title track Input 1 balances playful rhythms, glitchy textures, and infectious vocals to build tension, before Rock With Me closes the release with a club-ready cut that balances energy and subtlety-showcasing Kidoo's knack for crafting records designed for extended impact and keeping the groove alive. Straddling house and minimal influences, Kidoo has earned regular support from heavyweights such as Michael Bibi, PAWSA, Joseph Capriati, Mochakk, Luciano, The Martinez Brothers, Marco Carola, and Jamie Jones. Standout cuts, including Wan Sugar Lady and Mezcal Bounce alongside SOSA, have appeared on respected labels such as Solid Grooves, Cuttin Headz, Metamorfosi, and COCO, while his sets have lit up stages from Circoloco at DC10 in Ibiza to KOKO London and Sunwaves Festival-not to mention his own E1 London series. With a growing catalog and a distinct artistic voice, Kidoo's arrival on BotaniQ marks a natural partnership, bringing his dynamic sound to Cruz's forward-thinking platform and complementing the label's evolving vision.
Santos - Unconditional Reflex Ep Nobody's Perfect is based on a hypnotic sequence of fairly ethereal chords, which then give way to a circuit bent kickdrum that unexpectedly comes in and out throughout the track. Thinking Plinking is a very fun instrument where 909 and vocals battle each other and then come together to create club-breaking drum rolls. Cyclops, as previously done, takes inspiration from minimal Neapolitan techno with a percussive groove and dry, raw sounds. Fragment031's 'Sky Hook' is a dub house with noisy delays and suspension.
We Got That EP by Alexis Chauquer sees a welcome return of the Bolivian producer on House Of Hustle. Groovy tech house with a raw edge and a natural sense of playful rhythms that are hard to manufacture. An artist whose musical roots run deep, he has spent years developing the instinct that now drives everything he does behind the decks and in the studio. You can hear the breadth of his influences without any of them feeling forced. This is just what happens when someone has been genuinely obsessed with music their whole life.
Marco Lys and Thomas Newson are back at it on Toolroom Trax with more straight-up club fire as these two artists have clearly found a chemistry that works. Marco Lys continues to show why he's a staple in the underground, with a signature sound shaped by releases on Armada, Cajual and Defected, plus classics like his 'Brighter Days' remix still doing damage today. Alongside him, Thomas Newson is stepping up as a key name for Toolroom Trax with the label backing his growth and last single 'Come To Me' making serious noise. With support from names like James Hype, Lee Foss, Darius Syrossian and GUZ, he's firmly in his stride. 'Hause Muzica' was born out of a Toolroom Trax writing camp in London, where the two linked up live in the studio and locked into something special. With David LeSal adding a standout vocal hook, the track delivers exactly what you'd expect, Marco's rolling, bumpy percussion, Thomas' big room club signature and quality production throughout. This one's for the underground.
A two-track contrast with a shared groove at its core, the Disruptive EP sees Le Roi Carmona and Guti Legatto link up on Rawthentic with a club-ready package. The A-side comes in punchy and direct - a driving Tech House cut built on a rolling bassline, sharp stabs and tight rhythmic control. On the flip, the energy loosens slightly more wobbly and more playful - with a stripped-back, minimal groove carrying a cool, character-led vocal over a heavy kick. With Le Roi Carmona's catalogue spanning labels like Hot Creations, Repopulate Mars and Too Many Rules, the EP brings together experience and instinct, landing as a clean, two-sided release that covers different moments of the night without overcomplicating it.
