Chris Kordas More Than Four is flagrant rhythmic heresy: electronic dance music thats not only in odd time, but also in complex polymeter. Each of the albums tracks uses at least four time signatures at once, typically including 3, 4, 5, and 7. The title is a pun on the 1966 Miles Davis album Four & More. Progressive rock bands commonly switched time signatures, but Korda takes it to the next level, by using multiple time signatures concurrently. For example in the title track, the synth part is in 7/4, whereas the piano part is in 6/4, hence the piano slips out of synchronization with the synth, and then converges with it again. This deliberate slippage is characteristic of phase music, historically associated with minimal composers such as Steve Reich and Terry Riley. Korda sees the hegemony of the generic 4/4 disco beat as a pleasure prison and is determined to escape from it by any means necessary. To that end she developed an open-source music composition softwareaptly named Polymeterover many years, and uses it exclusively. According to Korda, homogenization of culture is the epitome of industrialism, motivated by the need to standardize consumption. Korda tirelessly agitates for all types of diversity, including cultural, biological, and gender diversity. More Than Four features relatively few lyrics, but theyre true to form. The title track pokes fun at the monotony of disco, while Moonchego satirizes conspiracy theorists and their alternative facts. Pleasant Mistake'' captures the selfishness and myopia that propel us towards an unlivable future, while Planet Broke is a furious anti-natalist anthem for the future generations were betraying. The album expresses realism, existentialism, and scientific pragmatism, and leads us to a surprising conclusion: The planet will be fine; its we who are in danger. Chris Korda is an internationally renowned multimedia artist, whose work spans nearly thirty years and includes electronic music, digital and video art, performance and conceptual art, and culture jamming. Shes been slipping subversion into DJ mixes since the mid-1990s, when she was one of the founders of electroclash and pioneered the use of complex polymeter in techno.
Life Outside is a transmission from the spaces between connection and isolation, memory and invention. Through hypnotic rhythms, fractured textures, and shadowy atmospheres, The Audio Manipulator constructs a world where familiar signals become distorted and ordinary moments reveal hidden meaning. Rooted in hardware-driven production and underground sensibilities, the album invites listeners beyond the surface into a landscape that feels both intimate and unknown.

Few labels have built such a close connection between their releases, parties, and wider community as Solid Grooves. Since launching in 2015, Michael Bibi and PAWSA's imprint has evolved from a London-born underground movement into one of electronic music's defining global brands, with its annual compilations now a key fixture within the label's schedule. Returning for 2026 following last year's landmark 100th release, the latest edition arrives at another pivotal moment for the imprint as it gears up for its biggest year yet across the international touring circuit, with Ibiza once again sitting firmly at the heart of the story. Landing the day before the brand's Ibiza Opening Party and its fifth consecutive summer at DC10, the release reflects the breadth of the Solid Grooves family through artists closely tied to its evolution. Alongside fresh cuts from both co-founders, long-standing figures Dennis Cruz, Ramin Rezaie, and Reelow return, along with a cast of established residents who continue to shape the label's future direction. Across ten tracks, the compilation welcomes contributions from key players throughout this year's Ibiza season, including Silvie Loto, Toman and Gennaro, while also spotlighting newer additions in Jamback and Arapu as part of the next wave making their mark within the Solid Grooves world. Connected by a shared dancefloor focus and the unmistakable energy that has defined the brand for over a decade, the VA captures where the label stands as it heads into another huge summer on the island and beyond.

Depending on the time of day, the desert sands reveal enchanting colours, hiding details that would otherwise remain unseen beneath a seemingly endless expanse of remembrances. Equally, Cristina Lazic's return to the label has a different effect depending on when it is heard, as the La Zic founder returns to the throne with 'That's Right', marking her return to the label after a year since her last EP. On the remix duties, Italy's hitmakers Supernova and French-born enchanter YokoO each provide their unique take on the original. The lead track is the perfect testament to Cristina's sound: rolling, bold, fierce. A hi-octane skipping groove fuses with a bubbly bassline and her usual dubby, spacey synths and pads that pave their way till the breakdown, culminating in a proper hands-up, heads-down drop. Italians house makers and Lapsus Music founders Supernova have been at the forefront of the scene for over two decades, and they have no intention to stop whatsoever: their version of 'That's Right' is the ultimate terrace anthem, with disco stabs, congas, and a pure injection of house groove resonating to the fullest. Closing the package, SATYA curator YokoO explores more after-hours, slow-paced territories, wrapping a classy, loopy 7-minute jam for the more minimal heads, sublime yet enigmatic, just as the desert sands.
