Rekab arrives on the shores of Analog Concept Records in a sense-satisfying, lush style with the Concept EP. Theres a lot packed into these 4 tracks, as the record spins full circle emitting sonic intricacy for both the mind and the floors. Right away, vividly soothing and atmospheric hybrids of downtempo breakbeat electronica with a bit of ambient techno personality blissfully charm the experiences on Concept 1 and 2, while the B side extends the cosmic joyride with the soul permeating chords and therapeutic electro of Concept 3; and of course there is fun where there is mystery, hence a 909 and ambient house flavoured remix of the third Concept from the always impressive yet very elusive Convextion aka E.R.P.

I would like to express my gratitude to the wonderful artists who took part in creating the soundtrack for the first episode of the Captain Hook remix album series. Our selection of artists was meticulous, each choosing to maximize their connection with a specific track. The outcome is a splendid musical mosaic spanning psy-trance, techno, and bass. The artists beautiful and authentic expressions, incorporating elements from the original tracks, contribute to the overall richness. The albums concept revolves around ouroboros, symbolizing the eternal cycle of life, death, and rebirth; infinity. The series consists of 3 episodes: Past, Present, Future - with each episode featuring 4 original Captain Hook tracks remixed by 3 artists in different genres, 12 tracks per episode. Each episode is pressed on 3 vinyls and each vinyl is a style in itself (psy-trance, techno, bass). Ouroboros - Present marks the second edition of the 3 part album series, with the entire collection spanning across 9 vinyls. The third and final part - Ouroboros Future - lands in early 2025.

Dekmantel Ten is a mirror of Dekmantel Festival. The 7x12 boxset includes seven records that mirror the seven stages to be found at the 2024 event, their 10th edition since 2013. The tracklisting isnt rigid some of the musicians gathered here have in fact played at most of the available stages but like a Mobius strip looping round, or a cat-and-mouse game, its not hard to discern a symbiotic relationship. Split seven ways, DKMNTL100 is a testament to the art of curation and the importance of quality control. At artist level, Dekmantel Ten finds room for several artists including Karenn, Jeff Mills and Marcel Dettmann who played at the very first Dekmantel Festival in 2013, and are by now impossible to detach. The Loops disc contains names whose stories have dovetailed alongside the festival, concluding in memorable headline moments: Young Marco, Palms Trax and Alchemical Sisters, aka Eris Drew and Octo Octa. Widen the lens and youll find history from across the landscape: the laboratories of professorial techno (Dasha Rush, Steve Rachmad, DJ Nobu) and gilded halls of house (Steffi, Luca Lozano, Bufiman); varied soundsystem icons (Kode9, Adrian Sherwood, DVS1) meeting limelights of contemporary Amsterdam (upsammy, Identified Patient, Zohar); as well as the modern conduits channelling decades of outernational vibrations (Nick Leon, BADSISTA, Animistic Beliefs, Veracco and a great many more). All 44 artists presenting exclusive material are indispensable into the Dekmantel story to date, and no doubt make up future developments over the horizon. That goes for the areas, too: Because while the seven stages found at Dekmantel Festival are individually resonant enough that they could become splinter festivals in their own right, its that union which lends the core festival its strength.

B.AI has been quickly rising to prominence within contemporary electronic music, and, arguably, one of her most enticing feats is her ability to make the minimal, electro and tech house genres she navigates her own by injecting them with a unique sense of melody. On The Best EP, the Chengdu based artist shows she can not only write memorable hooks but can do so while covering a broad array of registers. Nightdreaming is a moody builder: although new, sturdily patched layers keep being introduced and the pace never slows down, a sense of restraint remains. This atmosphere quickly changes on Satisfy, which, with its tapestry of indeterminate arpeggios and EBM-evoking vocals, takes a nervous turn. The Best on the B-side is a slab of vigor tailored for the peak time. Set to an effective bass groove, modulated chords, white noise sweeps, delicately mixed moans and bright pads nearly trip one over another. On Crash Landing On Nimas B.AI , together with Diego Santana, unleashes a batch of detuned and portamento heavy square wave patterns. The EP, diverse yet balanced, ends on a note so ominous... the contrast with how bright we imagine the future for this maverick talent could not be starker.
