Okay ... deep breath and on to part two. First up, Dancehall Tribute takes things in a deep and dubwise direction, with the legendary Tenor Fly reminiscing over supremely funky breakbeats on a track that recalls his chart-topping mid-90s period with The Freestylers. Christina Nicola returns for the classy, lush dubstep number Weekend Lover, and there's more half-time roughness with rapper Hardy Hard sending down a p-funk flavoured vocal on the tough and rolling Ridin'. Million Dan, Kidd Money and MC Flipside combine forces for the garagey dub-house of Champion Number One, before Sweetsounds turns up to rock the mic on the synthy, disco-tinged Together. You Can Be My Night is a piano-fuelled d 'n' b roller with a heavy jump up influence, while I Like Girls, featuring Sporty-O and Vic Bynoe, is a straight-up electro breakbeat booty killer about the joys of dem ladeez. Blaze It Up, featuring Million Dan, sends ballearic guitar over fearsome d 'n' b beats and the dirtiest of basslines, while Gimme a Piece of that Booty, with vocals from the legendary Assault, is another roughhouse booty bass anthem. Last year I played in Stockholm alongside a man who should know as he was there at its birth, Tyree Cooper. Tyree warmed up the room spinning mid-tempo, early 80s Disco or, as he put it 'House Music', stating 'it's the music Frankie played before anyone had made a House record'. Four decades after the Warehouse in Chicago closed, Deep House now means everything from European 120BPM Tech House to UK House that ex-Grime kids now make and of course, 'Trad Deep House' like the American stalwarts still make. What we thought we would do is take what we like thats representing out there. Music that is good for your soul, music that you can still feel during that 8am cab-of-shame drive home. Tiga reunites with longtime Finn-Friend Jori Hulkkonen to deliver a question of trust, a question of lust, and a question of not letting too much time pass between 12-inch dance releases. Embracing a shared love for late-night dancefloor sleaze, the always-likely pair venture into filthier territory than either would ever tolerate in any phase of their actual lives. "With this song, I wanted to get my music into some of the darker clubs, the kind where you see obese Goth kids drinking Red Bull out of goblets and somebody's uncle wearing one of those weird studded strap things. I want to say harness, but nothing's holding this guy back when my song comes on," says Tiga from what we can only presume is the least out-of-touch location imaginable. Definitely nowhere near a drawbridge. The remixers had full license to go even darker, far past anything Tiga's family-friendly idea of himself would allow. Danny Daze takes things into the beyond-afterhours hours, when normal debauchery gives way to things like identity theft and marriages of convenience. The dub version is a silent tribute to these victims of circumstance and poor life decisions. Meanwhile, John Roman imagines a deeper-voiced Tiga from the other side of the tracks, who knows how to sneak into the acid warehouse for half-price. Finally, joeFarr amps it up into pleather-dreaded techno territory, with a Matrix-friendly BPM and surprisingly subtle atmospherics. "When I tell you to trust something, you have to trust that I fully trust in what I'm saying," adds Tiga. "Otherwise, we're just two solitary souls trying to make sense of the moonlight, and that's not the kind of nighttime world I want to spend my nights in."
