There is something exciting about creating a world and then populating it. Fashioning things as you would have them, rather than being constrained by an imposed landscape, or simply consuming without agency. And while art will always be limited by imagination, ability, medium and appetite, these barriers should be unconscious and ones own. Part of an individuals pool of expression rather than external restraints imposed upon them. We currently exist in an environment that is set up to gate keep what art is made and how it is consumed, and it is often far more attractive to stay within the confines of these accepted conditions, than cast out into the wilderness alone. But these are restrictions, in whole or in part, we can reject. Instead, free from the pressures of outcome, we must forge new pathways beyond this stale amphitheatre.
