International producers Lohrasp Kansara and Leon Blaq come together on Activate EP, a three-track release that explores the many dimensions of contemporary Afro Tech through two original productions and a reimagined interpretation from South African producer Ed-Ward. Opening the release, Activate establishes the EP's identity with rolling percussion, commanding basslines and hypnotic vocal textures that build steadily into an energetic peak-time record. Combining infectious groove with refined melodic progression, the production captures the balance between power and sophistication that defines modern Afro Tech. Ed-Ward's remix offers a contrasting perspective, introducing rich harmonic textures, expressive chord progressions and an emotionally charged breakdown while preserving the momentum of the original. Drawing inspiration from South Africa's globally influential Afro House movement, the remix expands the musical landscape of the record while maintaining its dancefloor focus. Completing the project is Invasion, a darker and more cinematic production built around deep percussion, driving low-end and atmospheric vocal elements. Rich in tension and immersive in its arrangement, the track provides a powerful closing chapter that complements the energy of Activate while revealing another side of the duo's creative approach. Released through Paradise Sound System, Activate EP reflects the label's commitment to connecting international artists through contemporary electronic music inspired by Africa's ever-evolving electronic landscape, bringing together producers from different corners of the world around a shared musical language of rhythm, emotion and movement.
