Shahrokh Dini and Phil Rosplesch unite electronic club culture with musical depth on their collaborative Manel EP, released June 5th on Moodmusic. Having met at the Wave Akademie Berlin, the duo bring together decades of experience and musicality. Active since 1995, Shahrokh Dini has built a strong reputation as a DJ, producer, and curator, shaping a sound rooted in Deep House, Detroit and Chicago influences, enriched with disco-driven grooves. With releases on Compost Records, Moodmusic, Strictly Rhythm, and BBE, as well as remixes for artists such as Niki Harris, Gloria Gaynor, and Robert Owens, he stands for authentic, timeless dancefloor culture. Phil Rosplesch complements the project with his distinctive touch as guitarist, composer, and producer. The Manel EP features two original tracks — "Manel" and "We Got In To It" — both grounded in classic house patterns while drawing subtle influence from jazz and krautrock. Warm grooves, hypnotic structures, and musical openness define the release. Remixes come from Berlin-based Nairam, who delivers a deep and atmospheric reinterpretation, and Los Angeles house legend Lars LB Behrenroth, adding his signature groove-driven touch. The EP carries a deeply personal meaning: "Manel" is dedicated to a close friend of Shahrokh, who passed away in Ibiza and was the owner of Sunset Ashram. The release stands as a heartfelt tribute, adding emotional depth to its timeless club aesthetic.
