PAN-AFRIKANA was born from a chance encounter in Guinea between two men living different realities. Kemikali - a Black British artist of Kenyan and Tanzanian heritage, raised on a steady diet of UK & US hip-hop and grime, later travelling the world through his work as a chemist. Mista Congo - a Guinean artist and teacher from Kankan, self-taught in English, serving hotel guests by day while quietly cooking up dreams through his music. Despite walking different roads, they shared the same ingredients: community, culture, knowledge and self-determination. 'Mana Waka' was born out of that chance encounter. The track that started it all, and an absolute heater. From strangers to a mastered record in less than 24 hours, a jazzy drill instrumental from Will B provided the sauce as the pair traded bars on ambition, survival and perseverance in a humid hotel room at midnight.
