'Chemistry' by Thakzin marks Sondela’s 50th release, a milestone we are honored to reach with the grace of this release by an artist we hold dear to our hearts. Nearly two years since ' The Magnificent Dance,' Sondela welcomes back Thakzin, the forward-thinking sound healer from Ivory Park. Since then, Thakzin has continued to develop his pioneering 3Step philosophy, gaining global recognition taking his sound from South Africa to the world. It was worth the wait as Thakzin blesses us with three versatile perspectives of his magical production skills, featuring the additional talents of his fellow South African colleagues: Mörda, Mhaw Keys, and Brenden Praise. All three tracks exude an authentic and spiritual feel, perfectly served by the chemistry of these artists, who previously united in the studio in 2023 for the anthemic remixes of 'Yes God' by Oscar MBO and DJ Kent's classic 'Horns In the Sun.' Thakzin has been testing these tracks on the road, receiving great responses across Africa, Europe, and the UK throughout the year. ‘Njalo' is a vibrant statement to the culture and an inspiring tribute to the symbolic father figure that guides and protects us through life. Thakzin's uplifting production is beautifully enhanced by the voice and lyrics of Brenden Praise, one of the most gifted vocalists and writers of his generation. He has also blessed the works of Vanco, Kasango, Themba, Mpho.Wav, and, of course, Mörda, his longtime friend. ‘Bitasweet' is an amazing dance floor weapon, building on a relentless, hypnotic drive contrasted by the melancholic synths of Mhaw Keys, the stunning multiinstrumentalist who has worked with Amapiano heavyweights such as Kabza De Small, Kelvin Momo, and Vigro Deep. Additionally, Mörda, the legendary and prolific award-winning producer, adds his signature sound to this track. The final song, 'Stir It Up,' is a mesmerizing peice of music best described as the embodiment of futuristic and experimental production. As the selection comes to a dramatic close, 'Stir It Up' captures it's sonic journey by fusing the unique characteristics of Njalo and Bitasweet into one cohesive, powerful finale.
